Great hotel within the golf course grounds, impressive golf course. Lovely food served in the bar and restaurant with outdoor seating also. Plenty of parking on site with separate parking for the rooms. Very peaceful, rooms large and clean. Secure door entry system to main lodge. Staff are very friendly especially the young lady working behind the bar who was really lovely and professional such a pleasure to talk too. Approximately 50mins drive to Bradford on Avon and good base for other locations such as Bath. Very relaxing to eat and drink and watch golfer's out on the course.

Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful scenery looking across the Thornbury landscape amidst the wild flowers and the wedding swing was a great hit. This historic building has been elegantly adapted to cater for modern guests. The clubhouse was spotless. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was delicious and an easy walk to the quaint Thornbury village. So many activities for families to do around Thornbury - Cattle country & Wolfridge Alpaca farm were a great hit. The T1 bus to Bristol conveniently left from the end of the Estate's driveway.

It would have been lovely to have a family room or adjoining rooms.

The Lodge was lovely, set in beautiful location, if you like golf this would be a must. The room was comfortable, overall the facilities in the room were good the shower was really good, tea/coffee making and everything nice and clean. Prices in the bar were quite good. The village was within walking distance and was nice for an evening out.

It would have been nice to have had some sort of dining room to sit and eat a takeaway in, if we wanted to. Also it was a bit far out and we could not book a taxi through the bar as we were advised they had to come all the way from Bristol, so I would suggest if you want to go to the races you'd be better off driving or staying somewhere with better transport links.

Check in via the golf club was good, the restaurant/bar was very welcoming with good views of the golf course. Meals were good, both evening and breakfast. Good choice of drinks and food and people appeared to be enjoying the ambience, whether golfers or not! Lodge room was comfortable, shower excellent, nice and powerful, refreshing for a warm day. Because it is some way from the golf course, it is fairly quiet. I will definitely stay here again.

On arriving, it could be clearer that you need to check in at the golf club in the bar area. As the door was open to the Lodge, I assumed there would be either a sign or part time manned reception; the sign would be fine, and I worked it out that you do need to ask at the club; there is a sign in the car park on the way, admittedly, but beyond where I parked! There is a fan in the room for really hot days/nights, but it was difficult to let fresh air in as the drapes were very solid and with my room, there was a flashing red light (bird or animal scarer?) that I could see in the garden area if I let the drapes go up any. It was a minor point, all in all, and I enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful setting. Rooms were spacious and clean. Lovely linen on bed.

There was no slip mat in the bath for the shower, and it was very slippery. I put a towel down to stand on. The shower was adequate, but was the old fashion attachment to bath taps. It is difficult to get the right temperature if eyesight is not great. Pillows too flat, for me. Bed and shower are the most important elements of any stay. I do think these are easily rectified issues and would stay again.

Clean room, comfortable bed, good historic location. Friendly staff, tasty food.

We asked for a quiet room as we were attending a funeral and although room 5 was spacious, very clean and comfortable there was a boxed in pipe or flue that crackled constantly throughout night. I am a light sleeper unfortunately and was irritated by the hum of what was probably a boiler and the crackle of condensation. The second night we had to use the fan provided as room was very hot and stuffy, this drowned out the pipe noise but was not that easy to sleep through.

The level of comfort was very good. It was quiet and facilities were good.

The light in the bathroom on a short timer so the lights went out when I was in the shower. The holders in the bathroom that hold hand wash and shampoo were in the wrong place. The shampoo was next to the sink while the hand gel was in the shower. They are in holders that could not be opened so could not be swapped back. The room key also stopped working during the stay and had to be rescanned.

Lovely setting. Convenient for our purposes. Room was comfortable with nice outlook. Good window blinds. Questions via Booking.com were answered quickly and early check-in was arranged easily.

Duvet was a bit short. Food offering in the restaurant was limited. For the room, I paid for an upgrade to a better room but compared with my sister who paid the lower price, my room was smaller with a smaller bathroom and only a half height wardrobe.

Lovely location. Nice room, large and tastefully decorated appropriate to the building. Meals were good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Would prefer a shower rather than a bath with a shower. Only downside was that the room above had creaking floorboards. Also we had issues with the room key card not working.

Beautiful Building, Nice Surroundings, Perfect Location for where we needed to be.

Room needed a little more care in the fact of Cracks visible & Paintwork missing around the ceiling edges. Reception Area was located within the Main Club House, however this was being worked on, so had to go upstairs to the function room to be then told to go back downstairs. Only 6 Parking Spaces outside for Hotel users however these were being used by Golf Club Users.
