Nice, large room with huge double bed. Great bathroom, shower hot straightaway. French windows to outside space with table and chairs although we didn't use this. The grounds were beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating to take in the view and atmosphere - glorious weather provided as well! Dinner in main dining room 1853 for which we booked ahead and it was busy. Service and food very good and a nice touch was to be given a complimentary dessert platter as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Live music in the atrium bar finished off the evening. My wife had a spa treatment which she enjoyed and found very relaxing. Breakfast was self service with a wide choice to suit all tastes.

Communication between booking and arriving not great as I tried phoning a few times to check on booking restaurant and spa and also check in time but nobody answered. In the end as we don't live far away, I popped in personally to resolve these issues.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was good - old features of the house preserved. Rooms were fine. We had 2 at the same price but one had a fridge and robes (!) and the other didn't..I wondered why. It was lovely and quiet and night - so much so that I overslept. The food was good - dinner and breakfast.

Disparity between rooms of the same "status". Our dinner wine (by the glass) was not very nice. It was pretty busy in the day with conferences etc, but in the end we decided we quite liked it buzzy. It's quite a big concern clearly, so might not suit those looking for a small "boutique" feel. The lovely house and grounds do make up for this.

The pool is a great size and it wasn't too busy. We had a great relaxing couple of days. The grounds are great to wonder around. The food was really tasty! I will for sure book here again :)

The service in the restaurant at the beginning was great. Towards the end of the meal it wasn't great. For example, We had to ask them to remove the plates though it was clear we were finished. It was hard to get more drinks we had to get up and find a waiter. The bedroom didn't have Aircon which was disappointing though my fault for not checking. Though it did come with a nice fan so not so bad. All in all I would come here again. It was a great break :) I would recommend eating early to get the best restaurant service.

Celebrating our honeymoon, staff gave us free chocolates and set up the bed romantically for us! As well as a complementary dessert beautifully prepared with just married written in chocolate. Truely exceptional service. Spa and swimming pool were quite basic but staff were lovely and if you went at the right time it was almost empty!

Had a meal charged to my room, where they had a similar name but completely different signature. They had also written 89 in room instead of 84 (our room). But once I went to the front desk staff very quickly cleared it up. Was a bit scary seeing an invoice for £150 you didn't spend pop up though! So maybe they need a more robust way to verify where bills are going.

An excellent place to stay, with bargains to be had if you avoid busy weekends. Quality of food and serving staff were superb. Our second visit, and we will definitely stay again. Lovely well-maintained grounds to walk round, and plenty of seats in the gardens for lounging in the summer - especially when the outside bar is open! Very sorry to hear the resident cat has passed away since our previous visit.

Slightly let down by the room cleaning during our stay, which left the cups and toilet not properly cleaned. Corridor carpets were also a little overdue for a hoover in places. Choice of meals not brilliant for vegetarians, but adequate. All the hotel information is accessible through a phone app, but why not just have some basic printed information in your room?

Stunning old house with sympathetic additions set in lovely grounds. Dinner was good, I recommend the duck and the cheeseboard. The sausages at breakfast were excellent, and it was worth the early swim to get a table without waiting. It is twenty years since I was a regular visitor, and I personally preferred when the orangerie was an Italian inspired restaurant and not a laser lit wedding venue. The Tiramisu was definitely better then. Times and clientele change, but it is still a beautiful place where I will always have fond memories.

The poor hairdryer and shower gel and shampoo but no conditioner in the bathroom. A combined shampoo/conditioner would be slightly better, and interestingly, there was separate conditioner in the leisure facilities.

The hotel was amazing. The food was lovely. Sleep was 10 out of 10 , The staff were welcoming and so helpful , apart from one young lady in the swimming pool area , it was a beautiful hotel would definitely recommend it to anyone and we would come back again. The only dislike was we went to go swimming on Friday night lovely man at the front desk book us in for Friday, Saturday and Sunday ,we turned up Friday not knowing where the lockers were or the towels were. We asked the young lady (7:10 pm)who was quite rude and abrupt (when asked could we have a towel please? We were told over there, get them when I said excuse me could we have a towelPlease? Just take them , not really caring about us as guess or people, we actually didn’t return on Saturday or Sunday which was a shame.

The hotel and grounds made for a lovely setting, close to other places in Cotswolds. The restaurant was very special, food was so lovely and very reasonably priced. The Atrium restaurant was a lovely too, great service and food was delightful. The Spa was adequate for a hotel facility, a little dated. Staff in all areas were very nice and always helpful. The grounds were amazing lots of different areas and well kept and lovely venue for any special occasions.

The Spa facilities need a little upgrading, slightly dated. All usable, though l thought would be more spacious or bigger for size of hotel.

Stunning location and venue, dog friendly (very dog friendly). Most parts of the hotel can be accessed with your pet, even breakfast at the bistro. Nice spa facilities and great grounds to walk and enjoy good weather. Perfect for a weekend out either in Wales, Cotswold or Bath and surrounding, the venue is truly stunning.

Dog friendly room could be cleaned and refreshed since was smelling like wet dog. We understand that people that travel with dogs are allocated to different rooms than others but I would suggest that those rooms would meet the same standards as the other not per friendly

my room was fantastic - spacious and comfortable and with its own little patio area. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were none of the issues I experienced last time I stayed there (e.g. plug sockets being too far away from the bed). The shower was lovely too. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of things on offer. The grounds are stunning and so much wildlife - I even found myself face to face with a hare for the first time ever! The Atrium bar was lovely and service there was very good and the food excellent, if a little pricey.

I booked a swim and found the receptionist there was very offhand - I felt like an inconvenience. The ladies' changing room was up a flight of stairs which forced me to use the accessible changing room. The pool itself was nice, I just felt that I was a nuisance.
