I forgot to put my breakfast chit in overnight. but no problem the lovely staff fed me, was the evening meal was excellent so was the quiet room and bed, close to the Forest of Dean and the 2-day orienteering event I took part in, I know where to stay next time I'm in these parts. Roger M

The staff were extremely friendly and they made me feel welcome. The room was small but for a solo traveller it was just what I needed. The bed itself was comfortable and the covering kept me plenty warm. I ate in the restaurant and the decor gave me an appreciation of the Gurkha way of life and their home. The food was delicious and plentiful. I opted for a Chicken Madras which was a little hotter than I expected but tasted great. They deserve their 5 star food hygiene rating Lots of parking. Free WiFi was available on asking. The Inn smelt clean and fresh throughout. Giving me that home from home feeling. I would stay here again.

The hotel decoration could do with a little TLC and some work on some amenities. The heated towel rail in the bathroom for example could not be used as it was fully against the wall and not adequately secured. Small ish things to update. Check out time stated 0900-1100 on the booking. But when I came to leave at 1050. The main reception was locked up, along with the front door and no staff around. Was slightly confused as to how to check out, no key drop box. I eventually found someone and handed them the key. Unfortunately the location has poor phone reception/data signal and is on a busy A Road, so cars can be heard easily. Breakfast was included in the price but better quality items would make it better and a little bit more on the plate.

You can choose breakfast items the evening previous which is a good idea rooms were clean and comfortable the food choices in the Nepalese themed restaurant were excellent and varied if you’re not familiar with the cuisine the staff are both knowledgeable and helpful

Nothing really I had a room at the front of the hotel facing the main road which offered a little traffic noise from 06.30 onwards but didn’t affect me personally however if you are a light sleeper you might request a room at the rear overlooking the immaculate gardens (I assume there are rooms at the rear!)

The friendliness and the attention to customers was amazing the food was outstanding. I had a lovely cosy nights sleep it was perfect. Staff are so nice and attentive. 20 out of 10 for staff and food.

The hotel and rooms could do with a bit of tlc. Like of paint and new carpets, the only downside to me was the stairs, as I struggle to climb then due to my disabilities

Great value stay, 10 minutes drive from Dean Forest Railway Museum, and Lydney close by. Really comfortable bed and pillows. Welcoming and polite hosts. Great having the Gurka restaurant downstairs and the overly pub atmosphere downstairs was nice. Really lovely garden and more than ample parking space. Fab breakfast! We were a family group of five ladies, booking a king room and a family room and can't fault the Inn or the family who run the Inn at all.

We booked this to be close to the Dean Forest Murder Mystery Train event. All first world problems really, so these are only if I was being picky... The main Inn sign had a letter missing, so it gave the impression that the place was not cared for There was no side/table lamp in our family room so it was either no lights on at all, or the whole room was lit up like Blackpool illuminations so it would be nice to have a little softer lighting We couldn't find a bin in our room... BUT as I said these are REALLY picky little things and would not impact staying at the Inn in the future. For a group of 5 booking two rooms at a total of £170, paying the equivient of £34 each including a great breakfast, it was very good value indeed! We would highly recommend.

The location for me was perfect. The bed is very comfortable. I didn't have breakfast due to leaving so early each morning. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The room is a bit tired decor-wise. The wardrobe has a loose hinge which caught my arm a few times. The sink in the bathroom is very slow draining. I seemed blocked. The cushion on the bed either needs replacing or having new buttons sewn on.

Location was brilliant just 15 mins or so from my walk! The staff were fantastic and really chatty getting to no you etc. I was pleasantly surprised there was a curry restaurant on site and the food was absolutely beautiful! Also a lovely little pub room with a fireplace!

Honestly nothing. I wasn’t expecting the ritz for the money I paid and was happy with the accommodation.

The location was brilliant, stunning garden, clean beddings and very powerful shower. There is complimentary shower gel and even body lotion. The room has a kettle, tea bags and instant coffee. Bonus, the room was toasty.

The whole building is extremely tired and screams for an update. But then again, I knew what I bought for the money I paid.

A comfortable hotel pub that has significant local importance and I am glad it has survived. The new owners a family with family concerns are pleasant and attract a good customer take away service.

The new owners need to understand more of English customs and English breakfast. When I left I also paid for an evening meal but was unable to convey that I owed for 1 drink.

The room was comfortable and clean, the grounds are lovely, and the breakfast was very nice as well. Our toilet didn't work at first but the staff came up right away to address it, and we didn't have any further issues. The restaurant downstairs is phenomenal - really some of the best curry I've had anywhere!

It's a bit out from town, so plan to drive if you need anything!
