It was by the car park. Very old. You could feel the history with in . Very very comfortable. Inside was practicable. Good wooden seat/chairs . It all blended . The our side was relaxing with tables , chairs and umbrellas. The room was an experience. The floor sloped. But if a floor didn’t slope in such an old building I’d be wondering.. it was a climb up to the bathroom then a quick totter back down to bed. My husband is 80 .. he found it amusing . It made his legs work !He found the bathroom a little tight for functioning but he managed with a few groaning and curses. There was plenty of tea /coffee biscuit. beds were extremely comfortable and beautiful clean . . We both slept very well. Good choice of breakfast that was beautiful lung cooked . The staff were we’ve attentive , friendly and ‘just there’ when needed . No evening meals but the odd sandwich would if been good. There are some beautiful restaurants extremely close all with in a short walk .

We were in the rooms in the building connected to the pub which were absolutely fabulous. The extra little touches added to the rooms were thoughtful and very practical. I will definitely stay here again when returning to Chepstow. A lovely breakfast was included.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. My only advice would be to be careful if booking and it says Private Bathroom. I assumed this to mean ensuite but in my room (Henry Martin) it didn't. To be fair the bathroom which is just across the hall is Private for that room and it is beautiful but you do have to come out of your room to get to it which isn't practical for me. The other rooms in this part are all ensuite.

Room and bathroom were very clean. Decor was lovely. Great view from our room. Breakfast was cooked well. Not far to walk to the train station (although Chepstow is quite hilly - I didn’t mind at all but you may find it tricky if mobility issues) which meant easy access to Cardiff.

It didn’t bother us but our bathroom was in a separate room almost adjacent so you had to leave the bedroom to go to the bathroom. I wasn’t bothered but I can see how some people wouldn’t like it. It’s a shame you had to access the pub for breakfast around the back of the pub through the not so nice beer garden which was still showing signs of the previous nights glasses and fag butts. Whilst breakfast was cooked well one of my pet hates is seeing people who work in hospitality with their hair down and not tied back when working around food!! All members of the team should have their hair tied back when working with food.

An authentic pub stay with all the charm and quirks that so arise. We had exclusive access to a ‘period’ bathroom with exposed beams, matching features and so on. Room itself is matching, with the charm of uneven hand-cut floor boards, exposed beams and all that. Bed was good, two pillows each. Included breakfast was terrific, with all the hot choices you could ask for, freshly cooked for you, plus the continental options you can help yourself to also. It felt a shame to be only there for one night, having just arrived in country. Right next to Chepstow Castle.

With the hot/warm weather, the window had to be open for ventilation, leading to some traffic noise as the occasional car went past, plus some revellers talking in the street outside the pub below - but it was not too late before they headed off. We slept ok, all part of the experience really….

Nice pub, friendly staff. Good live music pub and right next to Castle and close to the river. The dog friendly room was ok, easy access, and had a kitchen sink, microwave, and plates and cutlery so we could take a takeaway back to the room as they do not serve food in the evening. Nice shower, and breakfast was nice. A Greek street food stall set up outside near the garden as they do not fo food, so we eat in the garden which was tasty. There is a great atmosphere at this pub, but do not expect to be able to get to sleep early when it is music night! Enjoy!!

The room was comfortable but could do with sprucing up. Low bed and needs a new thicker matress. A small fridge would be useful. Dog friendly room, so some little touches for the dog would be nice like bowls. Bathroom window rather drafty. We stayed two nights, and the first breakfast was fine. Checkout day we turned up for breakfast at time we said we would. Went to get ceral and came back and hot food left on the table, so we could not eat the ceral. It felt very rushed like they just wanted us out. Be nice to allow 10 - 15 mins from time of arrival for breakfast so customers can enjoy the ceral's, etc, and have a cup of tea before hot food comes out. Let the stay down, which otherwise we did enjoy.

We stayed for two nights at the end of our 870-mile Wales Coast Path walk. I was in the old part of the Three Tuns in room 3, very quirky. My friend was in the new part, which was more comfortable. We love the Three Tuns. Breakfast was probably our best anywhere! The bar staff and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Big thanks to all of them. Public car parking next door was good. Be aware that parking is free of charge overnight. Live music at the Three Tuns on Saturday night was great. We hope to stay there again when we start the Offa's Dyke Path, later this year.

We had the sharing boards for our Sunday lunch and it was more than we could eat. The breakfasts were also very good The proximity of the public car park and castle was a real bonus. We were able to check in early although in the end we didn't need to.

The table was small for 5 of us at lunch and breakfast. It was a struggle to find space for the boards and plates. We knew there was live music on Sunday afternoon but didn't realise just how loud it would be in our rooms. The floor vibrated and the beds shook! The bathroom for the pet friendly room was freezing.

Beautiful room, stopped in a twin as traveling for work, bed was super comfortable. Loved the attention to detail, nice toiletries and loved the fact they had in the bathroom some ladies products, nice touch. Not that I of course used them, but that is detail Also liked the fact it was the building next to the pub so very quiet. Pub BTW is excellent, 16th or 17th century pub, good beers on.

Not a lot.... hard to fault. TV was a bit complicated but had many, many channel to choose from.

Excellent breakfast. Lovely room with comfortable bed and very nice private bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for the castle and the Drill Hall, where I was attending a festival.

It was not easy to use the coffee machine (no instructions I could see - I had to Youtube it!) and also I didn't really like that the private bathroom was not ensuite, it was across the hallway (which meant getting dressed to go to the bathroom each time!) and it was not possible to lock it from the outside (someone did go in and use the toilet while I was not there!)

The Three Tuns hotel is a lovely Welsh Pub right beside the Chepstow Castle and the Eye River with England just across the birdge. Room 4 has its own entrance from the road and is delightful. It has a small kitchenette (microwave, jug & sink, but no fridge or stove), good heaters, good water pressure and and great hot water. We were permitted to keep our touring bikes in the room with us. The included full Welsh breakfast really got us going the next day. We would stay again.

It's all good.
