As you can see from my last few reviews, I’ve been staying at the Old Star every week for several months now. I keep coming back and would happily recommend it for several reasons: - A lovely owner who really looks after you and makes an effort - Efficient, flexible check in and check out, great if you want to come and go quickly without hassle - An EV charger, which is very useful for me, with costs kept moderate and simply passed through - A quick self serve breakfast that’s perfect if you want to get going early in the morning - Comfortable, clean rooms, I always sleep well and the beds are excellent

The host was very friendly and ensured that we had everything we needed and more. The accomodation was spotless and the bed was very comfy. She gave us all the info we needed for different excursions. We had "safe parking" right at the door. She is an animal lover and made a fuss of our "furry baby". The breakfast was lovely.

A few steps, but it was my own mistake as i did not mention it when booking the accomodation. The host offered a different room without the few steps, but i declined it and i managed the few steps well.

We stayed at The Old Star for one night but would happily have stayed longer. Karen, our host, welcomed us and explained how everything worked. The room was lovely, clean, very comfortable and we had a very peaceful night’s sleep. In addition there was a kitchen and breakfast room where we could help ourselves during our stay. There was no rushing us out in the morning, we just took our time and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. The icing on the cake was the free parking. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.

Karen is a fantastic host – friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The free parking, reasonably priced EV charger, and plenty of local running routes to unwind after work are all much appreciated. As someone working in the area, it’s ideal to have a comfortable, convenient place to stay nearby – especially one where I can easily charge my car.

A very warm, friendly greeting. The room was clean and nicely arranged. The Old Star was a very easy location to access when driving and has good public transport services nearby. The breakfast was self-service with a good choice of cereals, bread, fruit, cheese and yogurt. There was a selection of fruit juices along with tea, coffee and bottles of water. There were also tea and coffee facilities in the room. I would certainly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a base to visit Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Great location to the city with parking. The bus stop is directly outside and takes only 15mins into town. There are only 3 rooms available and we had 2, so it was like having the place to ourselves. Great facilities with a 'help yourself' breakfast with lots of choice and food!. Karen was lovely, and the contact before we stayed was great! Very very helpful and recommend as a place to stay!

The automatic lights for the bathroom stayed on a while after closing the door, so if you get up in the night to use the bathroom, this may be annoying. I had an eyemask, so it wasn't an issue, but my sister didn't and mentioned this.

Just right for a one night stop over while we were nearby for a wedding. Small room but very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The serve yourself breakfast was fine with a wide selection to chose from. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

The bed could do with a thinner duvet available for summer use by those of us warm souls. In fairness I didn't ask if one was available.

Breakfast was a continental style one where you could help yourself and there was certainly lots of choices available. Location wise it was about 5 minutes in the car to the motorway and had a bus stop outside if you needed public transport

The owner Karen is one of the most lovely hosts I ever had. Very kind and has a solution for all issues/requests!

Water tap in the bathroom could get a little bit more attention from the cleaning and towels don’t get dry during the day due to missing of a proper heating. Highly frequented road is next to the hotel, but if you have good sleep no issues.

wonderful self service breakfast with great choice of good cereals, fruit, tea and coffee. Yoghurts, ordinary and oat milks, bottles of chilled water fruit juices etc. Very friendly atmosphere, lovely owner, Karen. Peaceful location about 20 mins from family we came to see in SE Bristol. Free parking, wi-fi. Good showers and new bathrooms.

mattresses were quite good but in the room with the king sized bed, it was quite comfy but not super comfy. We had two rooms (he snores)! My room had twin beds which once again were quite comfy, not super comfy. The sinks in the bathrooms were very small but that was not a problem.
