The entire place was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as expected. It had a classic charm with modern comforts, making our stay both relaxing and enjoyable. The highlight for us was the breakfast, which was wonderfully prepared with a good variety of options. Everything was fresh and delicious, and a great way to start our Bristol trip.

Unfortunately, our first impression of the hotel was not the warmest. The reception staff did not appear welcoming—there were no smiles, and they seemed tired and unapproachable. This made check-in feel a bit cold and impersonal, which was disappointing given the hotel's reputation. A friendly and attentive front desk can set the tone for a guest’s stay, and we felt that was lacking here. We hope the hotel can improve on this aspect, as everything else has the potential to offer a much better overall experience.

The breakfast (buffet stlye) was pretty good. Pastries, english breakfast, cereal, fruits.. anything you want. The spa facilities were great, even though you have to pay for it (£15 for 48hrs it's a bargain), and the massage were fantastic.

The bed comfiness could be a bit better, it was a bit too soft for my taste, but my husband loved it. The room seemed clean for the first sight, but if you stay a bit longer you realize it needs some new painting and new carpet at least. Nothing too serious, just a bit updating. Also the reception team could be a bit more helpful how to find your room, especially if you booked a room with terrace next to the lake. Those rooms are on the ground floor but you have to go the 2nd floor with the lift and then walk down via stars. We have to ask a 2nd receptionist who kindly explained.

The hotel was lovely and clean, warm and comfortable. The Staff were very friendly and polite. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious.

The restaurant was not open on the Sunday night, apparently not enough bookings.We paid to use all the facilities so I think we should have access to all areas of the hotel. The rooms could have been brightened up with some kind of floral display and maybe a fruit bowl and glossy magazine. Not a lot of atmosphere in the hotel , partly due to the large number of business people staying at the hotel it was more geared to making their stay more important . families and couples visiting the hotel for leisure purposes took back seat when it came down to it.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. The breakfast was superb. The facilities were very good. The room was very nice with the exception of the bathroom that was very dated and could benefit from a refurbishment and a good clean.

It would benefit from having a floor number on the wall opposite the lift so you dont get out on the wrong floor. Also signs to reception would be useful. I got lost a couple of times trying to retrace my steps back to reception.

Spacious rooms with good facilities and toiletries, little bit different having water and milk dispensers in the hallways yet this actually worked quite well. Bar drinks menu was refreshing to see some difference to what you may find elsewhere and the ambience in there was very relaxed. Food (ate in bar) was extremely good, you know something is good when your friend is telling their family about it the next day

Just minor niggles, the shower (head and controls) felt like an afterthought/very old fashioned in looks. We went to the restaurant and were waiting several minutes without being approached, so upon getting hold of a member of staff we were solely asked if we had booked, and when we confirmed we had not there was uncertainty whether they were going to check availability or not, in the end when they said we could eat in the bar we chose that

Staff were really helpful. We arrived shortly after check-in time and as the room wasn't ready, they offered us a drink. They ended up upgrading our room,not sure why. It didn't quite work for us, but there was no way they'd known and it was done with their best intention (we wanted a room with a sofa bed, and the new room didn't have one. They also gave us access to facilities, but we didn't have appropriate gear/clothing?

The room looked a bit dated and despite being a suite it didn't quite meet our needs. They also set up a cot we didn't ask for when they saw us arriving with our baby. Again, best intention, but not what we needed. It took a bit chunk of space for nothing.

Beautiful hotel, very nice facilities (gym and spa), excellent food at their Curious kitchen restaurant, large bedroom very comfortable, easy access to Bristol, Bath, Costwolds if you have a car. We had a great stay and recommend this place

-Lack of flexibility for breakfast as you have to book in advance your breakfast slot -Access to the gym and swimming pool limited to 12pm on the day of departure -Quality of the massages in the spa disappointing and not up to the standard you would expect depending on the therapist you have

Really nice pool with saunas and jacuzzi. Clean and nice size. Not too crowdy during our stay. Rooms were clean and good size, air con working, kids cinema room available in the evenings. Bar open till late.

Breakfast service bit chaotic especially on Sunday morning. Not too much choice in the buffet but some items could be ordered from kitchen. Swimming pool limited time for kids during a day. Location is not very attractive but we know what we booked. Due to overbooking one of our group had to move to another building.

Everything! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful from check-in to check out. Our room was beautifully spacious. There was a seating area, coffee machine, and biscuits that were restocked, we had a fridge in the room, which was excellent. One thing that was a real pro was the availability of milk and water via machines on each floor, I've never had this before in a hotel and well we always need water and would use the majority of the milk products left in a room to make one cup of tea. The spa facilities were wonderful, I would recommend adding to your booking. It was pure zen in the spa area. We ventured into The Black Sheep on the Saturday and had brunch. Again, a super friendly man served us, and we enjoyed the lovely atmosphere. We ate in the Curious Kitchen and the food was delicious, our waitress Hannah was amazing, she really looked after us. The bar staff continued to add to our stay following dinner and served beautiful expresso martinis. I had an unfortunate accident of spilling a cup of coffee on the bed, the cleaner who came to make up the room was so lovely, and our room was spotless. We were celebrating a birthday during our stay and when my partner entered the room there was a card and chocolates which was a lovely gesture. The only downfall I have is not having all staff members' names to thank them individually. We had such an amazing time that we booked an extra night and enjoyed room service. Thank you, Aztec. we look forward to returning in the near future.

I can't fault anything with regards to our stay.

We both have mobility issues and my husband is on crutches, the staff were always willing to to help in a friendly effecient manner.

We requested a ground floor room without much walking and on the confirmation booking it said near reception so thought no cause for concern but our room was quite a long painful walk for my husband. It would have been nice to sit outside on the terrace but the only access was via stairs. However we did drive across to The Black Sheep and sat outside there.
