Beautiful location! Our room was comfortable, quiet and had a private street entrance, as well as a separate entrance / stairway to the Inn. The en-suite was spacious; the shower a delight…there was actually room to move in it! The Inn itself is very large and traditional; food was delicious; the staff were really friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We had a very enjoyable couple of nights stay!

As we were there two nights, it would have been an added benefit to have somewhere to dry our towels or be provided with clean ones! Towels were fluffy, white and plentiful but as the towel rail wasn’t heated/on, there was nowhere for drying. It won’t prevent us from staying there again though…!

The place felt warm and friendly when you walked in the door. The staff very friendly and polite. Food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was very good. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was a good size and had an excellent view of the Mendip Hills.

The bedroom needed a few small details to be sorted before being re let. Could have problems driving up the narrow lanes when lorries needed to be accessing other buildings along the narrow lanes at the same time.

Hands down one of the best most friendly places I've stayed at. On arrival the staff were very helpful showing us to our room. The room was immaculate and very beautiful with a four poster bed, free standing bath and a sitting room with balcony. The Inn itself ws surprisingly busy considering it is in the middle of know where but we couldn't fault the atmosphere. The food was proper hearty grub and the staff were excellent. Breakfast in the morning was pretty amazing too and the chef was very chatty and friendly. I honestly can't say a bad word about the place. We ate well, slept like logs and were made to feel very comfortable. We will definitely stay again in future

Nothing at all. A proper hidden gem

Very personable staff, made you feel like you were staying with family. The staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Their food is tasty, with an extensive menu (I don't think they need such a large menu). I likes that I didn't have to get up at 7a for breakfast, it is served at a civilized time. I needed a packed lunch one day, and just like that a lunch box filled with goodies was ready. Nice ambiance to the whole place. My room #3 was spacious and comfy. There is a make your bed daily service, though I had the same towels for 3 days. I would stay there again, and I hope I need to.

The WiFi is horrid. Perhaps, as this questionnaire illudes to, an option to buy better WIFI fir a small fee would be worth it to travelers like me who rely on city-standards off Wifi. If I were on holiday only, I wouldn't mind as much, but I wasn't.

We had a great stay at The Hunters Rest Inn. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We arrived early on Saturday for a wedding and despite the room not being ready yet, they still let us access it so we could get changed for the wedding. They were extremely helpful in helping us organise taxis which we didn’t realise would be so difficult in the area. The pub and bar area has a great atmosphere and the room was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Would highly recommend staying here, the staff will make you feel like you’re at home.

The staff were all extremely friendly and went above and beyond for us. The view from our room was exceptional we could of stayed for a week looking at it. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. The location was perfect - 20 mins taxi into Bath or Bristol We will definitely be retuning and we will definitely be having our evening meal at the Hunters Rest Inn. We had a perfect visit - can't fault a thing

The location. If you want R&R like I did, this is a great place, but a must is to have transport.

The food for me, what meal I had wasn't great, I had cheeses that were served straight from the fridge, hard and tasteless. Pork steak with the mushroom sauce, great, but not served with chips and mix veg. I mean who really likes suede with chips. The Internet is terrible, because of the rural location. Carpets in the rooms need a deep clean.

Quiet location. Clean, fresh bedding and comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast; a selection of everything you could want, good quality produce cooked to order. Friendly staff and great value for money.

Room decor a little outdated but probably in keeping with the 'Hunting' theme. However, the things that made it a great overnight stay are detailed in the question above.

Stayed in Room 3 for 2 nights to celebrate a birthday. Lovely friendly, helpful owners and staff. The room was extremely comfortable with a large room and large bathroom, soft bedding, fluffy white towels and peaceful countryside views. Great breakfast cooked by the owner Paul at a time of our choice. Very close to Bath and Wells for Christmas shopping and would definitely recommend Wells, which is a beautiful city with independent shops, a market and of course, the fabulous cathedral.

We loved our stay here. We stayed here for a wedding as a group of 5 couples and it was ideally located for that (venue was Priston Mill). The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the inn kindly accommodated an earlier check in for us. I didn’t catch his name but the man who looked after us during breakfast was absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough for us (he also had a gorgeous dog :) ) The breakfast was fabulous. All in all we had a faultless stay. Would definitely stay again.
