April 2025
I had been working in Kent on the first of April and had more work in Radstock for the next 2 days. Martin was waiting for me to arrive at the hotel after midnight. When I rang his number then my mobile battery died. He tried to call my number but no answer as mobile had turned itself off. I had given up by then. I was relieved when a man came tapping my car window with a smile introducing himself. He helped me carry my suitcase to the room. I was very grateful and very impressed by his attitude and the single room was clean, cosy and warm, water was also hot. Car parking was readily available and free. In the past have had to sleep in my car as check in time was up no one would be present at the property. I. have been treated rudely, denied the accommodation and my money forfeited by the owner but did not know who to turn to. These were private bookings in Devon. I really appreciate Radstock Hotel's gesture of kibdness abd commitment. .
No negatives on this occasion.

Although above a pub there was no noise at all, which was a very pleasant surprise. The room was very good value for money & I received a lovely warm welcome. My room was clean but the decor rather tired (though the new manager only took over a few weeks ago), huge room with equally large bathroom including a bath, well supplied with tea/coffee & toiletries, lovely fluffy towels, humongous comfy bed. Convenient onsite parking. Ideal for a stay to visit Bath as is only a 25 minute drive away without needing to pay Bath Hotel prices. Although breakfast was available, at a reasonable extra charge, I didn't opt for this, though a good choice was advertised.
Very little - like I said, the decor is tired with some obvious paint damage on the ceiling of my room from a previous leak. But this didn't detract from a great night's sleep.

Staff were friendly, room was neat and in order. Tea and coffee and toiletries provided. I was hoping for the four poster bed and we got it! Massive room that also has a couch, etc. ample parking and extremely comfortable bed. Great price for one night, would have stayed another night if we could have. We nicknamed it 'the princess room' and enjoyed the suite for what it is.
While it is advertised on a chalk sign out the front that their food is home made, we were told they don't sell food 🤣 we were very confused by this. No food at all. In a licensed venue. At dinner time. The place is a little bit dated and needs some upkeep but I don't really mind and found that charming. Cleaning staff knocked on our door an hour before checkout (a minute before our alarm - literally). We don't wear much to bed and it was awkward opening the door and not being awake (or fully dressed) as there was also a kid with them who was staring. At least my towel stayed up I guess?

Excellent service, arrived as strangers left feeling as tho we'd know the team for years. So welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Food menu had a very good choice of freshly cooked delicious meals highly recommend the chicken curry & the full English breakfast. Generous portions and locally produced ingredients. Rooms are very spacious comfortable and clean lovely soft towels rooms also included shower gel and shampoo not forgetting tea and coffee making facilities. Beds are very comfortable. Very good value for money. Will definitely return.

Despite a few poor reviews about this place I've thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Yes it's dated but it is on the middle of a refurbishment from the new owners hence why there had been a few hiccups. I stayed in the master suite with four poster and it was lovely and spacious with a big bathroom. The staff are really friendly and on hand to help. The clientele are down to earth characters and so friendly & welcoming... Real salt of the earth village folk. I had an amazing time.. Food isn't available there ATM but Midsomer Norton is only a few miles away and there's aWetherspoons , a Thai and Indian restaurant.. Probably more. Plus a pub with live entertainment. For the money.. The place is great... Don't listen to the reviews
Nothing I didn't like.

Very well-situated on the main road in Radstock, close to restaurants and the museum. Spotlessly clean room, comfy bed, plenty of hot water and a strong shower. Free Wifi and a tv and tea and coffee station in the room. It's warm weather, and there was a fan in the room as well. The window opened, the room was bright and there was plenty of car parking space behind the building. I slept really well. It was great value for money and I would recommend it.
From the outside, the hotel looks a bit worn, as it's a working pub in a small town. Equally, the hallways' decor was a bit worn. And the local boy racers seem to like being noisy going up and down the road in front, which you can hear, as the bedroom window was single-glazed. BUT don't judge the book by its cover as the whole place is spotlessly clean, the room was very comfortable and the locals in the pub were polite and friendly. And the boy racers knocked it off by 10pm.

The land lord and land lady were brilliant (sorry didn't get there names) very friendly and helpful. The bar was busy and found everyone friendly .I had mini bus and was nice that I could park in there large car park with no height barrier. The breakfast was amazing so tasty you get to pick what you want and was not expensive. If your looking for the Hilton not for you if you want some where to stay in nice friendly pub this is for you
Yes the rooms could do with re vamp but were clean and tidy so was not a problem for me .(they are being done soon i was told).Hope this dosnt put the prices up too much There is not much to do in Radstock there is take away next door and a working mens club .I went by bus to Bath half hour ride for £2 so was not a problem.

great room, comfy bed and sofa for watching TV bright and airy room with views outside clean and spacious bathroom very quiet, despite the pub being very busy and noisy inside easy check in and out very friendly staff, both on check-in and before arrival (in helping me a taxi arranged)
only minor criticism is that the wooden frames on the 3 lovely large windows could do with some serious TLC! (but that was no problem for me)

Room was nice and bed was comfortable. No food when I stayed due to renovations however it is close to various restaurants so wasn't an issue
No clear signs leading to the parking around the rear of the hotel. And also the inconvenience of having to eat elsewhere when booking states that the restaurant was operational.

Location was chosen because of attending a wedding nearby. It’s a really charming, quirky heritage building, hence no lift and single glazed sash windows. Comfortable, clean room. Well stocked hospitality tray in the room. Staff went ‘the extra mile’ at breakfast, running to the shop to get spaghetti hoops for my friend. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. It’s a busy local pub, with rooms above. No frills or mod cons.
I’d recommend taking a hairdryer, as the one in the room is the sort you find at your local swimming pool, attatched to the wall and not very powerful.
