Set on the opposite side of the river, the location was perfect and slightly quieter than the old town. It was within walking distance of all the attractions and close by to lots of great restaurants. The hosts were very kind and the ladies serving breakfast were warm and welcoming. The room was very tidy and we had an awesome view from the window.

Although parking was safe, it was on a first come first serve basis and we had to pay 400lek for 1 night. They were not sure that they could fit us in as it is shared with lots of other hotels but we were lucky to find space.

I had a lovely 2 night stay in Anhel Hotel. The check-in process was very straightforward with instructions provided over Whatsapp. Lovely breakfast in the morning with a stunning view of the Ottomon style houses. The location is superb, less than ten minutes to the bus stop that takes you to regional bus station. I want to particularly thank Amarildo for his kindness- I accidentally took the room key after checkout and he handled the situation professionally. At no point did he threaten to charge me for the lost key or belittle me for my mistake. I can't imagine many places being as relaxed and forgiving as Amarildo was! All in all Amarildo and his family greet each guest with such warmth, it truly made my stay special.

The location of the hotel was great. We never found the private parking lot. However, it wasn't a problem as there were plenty of other free options and you didn't have to make the steep climb to the hotel by car. Particularly noteworthy is the great view at the homemade breakfast by two older ladies, who are both very warm and simply cute. The hotel has a particularly nice style and handing over the key in a box at the front door is quick and easy. The owner always replied quickly via WhatsApp. The TV had no connection to the internet. But there are definitely worse things. The city of Berat is really exceptional and we would book the hotel again. :)

We liked the room, it was clean and had a nice view over the city. The location was also great, in a quiet area of the old town. The breakfast was very good, they were also serving some traditional food which we liked. It wa also served on a terrace with a nice view. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We recommend this hotel.

One remark about the breakfast area is that there are a lot of bees and it can be a bit stressful to eat when they are flying on the food. However we understand that this is not in the control of the hotel staff and they were trying their best to manage the situation. There is also an alternative of eating in the room which is good.

We had the chance of making almost the whole country and we have to say this is our preferred between 9 hotels we slept in. The staff is super kind, the lady cooking and serving the breakfast is amazing, typical food super tasty, the rooftop and the view was delightful, the room was romantic/typical. Berat is our favourite city in Albania. Definitely we would come back to this place and we recommend it to everyone.

They should consider offering dinner for the tourists, but nothing bad to say. We recommend contacting the hotel before arriving to receive the location of the parking lot.

It was very clean ,the breakfast with the view was wonderful. To reach the hotel You have to walk a little bit up hill in the upper old town , don't take too much luggage. The hotel is a renovated old house, very interesting architecture and beautifully renovated. Very comfortable bed and pillows . The air conditioner was a must ,because of the high temp in June and it's in the room available. The towels, shampoo and soap were changed every day .I'm very happy that this part of the old town in Berat is vivid again.

Only cash payment, but it's not the only place in Albania like this. In our room was a wet /walk in shower ,without a shower cabin or divider and I'm not a fan of it (when the whole bathroom is wet), but for 2 days it was ok and not a big problem . It's not a proper hotel with a front desk and a person at reception . We checked in alone and we saw only in the morning someone cooking breakfast , otherwise no Reception, but they responded on Whatsapp.

The location in the Gorica neighborhood is very nice and the view from the hotel’s terrace is great. Our room very nice and quiet.

I think people wanting to stay here should be aware that you can’t drive directly to the hotel but must park down by the river walk up to the hotel. Also, be aware that the hotel only accepts cash not credit cards.

We give this hotel 10/10 ❤️ We were especially impressed with the 2 ladies that served us breakfast with such warmth and hospitality. The terrace for breakfast has a fantastic view. You are made to feel like valued guests. The room was absolutely immaculate. Hot powerful shower. Very comfortable mattress, crisp sheets that smell so fresh (because they are hung out to dry during the day we could see them blowing in the wind from the elevated castle across the river) The location of the hotel was very good. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. We left this hotel walking on air 💕

We loved it all

This hotel was in the heart of Berat with a great bar close by and also some excellent restaurants, you don’t have to go far for food or drink. Free parking was in a car park a short distance from the hotel. The room was a great size and very clean. Breakfast was at the top of the building. There was no choice of food but we were very pleased with what was provided. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay at Anhel Hotel in Berat. The location was exactly what we were looking for, right in the heart of the old town. Due to the traditional layout of the area, getting there with large suitcases can be a bit of a challenge because of the steps, but it’s absolutely worth it. The hotel was very clean, the ambience was charming, and the views from both our room and the terrace were stunning.
