The location is excellent, easily reachable by public transport. The people were friendly and the whole process was very smooth. The breakfast is quite nice and well stocked (but as a suggestion, they should really keep the eggs and sausages warm).

It was not clear from the website that the accommodation is spread between multiple buildings, and most of them look like they were summer camp housing buildings for kids. In our building the hallway had a smell of chemical cleaning products / insecticide (but the room smelled fine). The door to the bathroom is transparent, so only share a room with a good friend or partner.

Our one-night stay at Landgoed de Horst was pleasant and relaxing. The property is beautifully surrounded by greenery, creating a peaceful atmosphere, though we didn’t have much time to explore the surroundings. Parking wa convenient, located close to the rooms, which made unloading easy. The room building also housed the breakfast area, which was great for convenience. A standout feature was the free 24-hour coffee and tea station, along with refreshing drinks infused with ginger and lemon. The design of the space is minimalistic yet interesting, and the breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of options in a nicely arranged setting. The hotel is also conveniently located about a 20-minute drive from Utrecht, making it a good option for those visiting the area.

While the overall experience was positive, there were a few minor drawbacks. The shower in the room was quite small, but manageable for one person. Some of the room decor was a bit unusual - one of my colleagues had artwork in their room that felt odd and could potentially affect the mood of some guests. A more neutral decor might improve the experience. Otherwise, the early morning checkout went smoothly, and everything was in order.

The beds are very comfortabele. Also the surroundings are great, you walk out your room and straight into the forest. The breakfast is very diverse and fresh! With croissants, fruit, sweets, eggs, pancakes, you name it.

The rooms are a little noisy compared to a normal hotel. There is an open toilet.. don't need to explain the inconvenience of that. Also, there was no air conditioning so on sunny days especially in the summer the room can get quite hot. Also the dinner menu is very small, but there are lots of nice places to eat closeby.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options to choose from. I especially appreciated the quiet and pleasant surroundings, which made it easy to relax and enjoy. Overall, everything was perfect, and we would gladly stay here again.

However, was a bit unusual since the toilet was not in a fully separate room but only divided by a wall.

I loved everything about it! Minimalist style, sustainable design, regionally sourced breakfast, amazing view from the window, looking directly into the forest. So quiet and peaceful. I wish I would have stayed longer! Maybe not recommended to people who need privacy in the bathroom, as there is no door or total separation from the sleeping area.

Just a suggestion to the hotel: a rug would make feel cozier.

Stay in the new buildings 8 and 9 which are architecturally very unique. Massive full width window - openable, overlooking a green tree and fields. Side views of the conference facilities. Excellent parking and the chance to walk the property. Super breakfast in a nearby building as restaurant. And the clincher in buildings 8 and 9 is each room has a named theme with a wooden case inside with related books. Last year it was Orlando and of course, Virginia Wolff.

Not much, but there are no shops nearby for water, snacks. But that is not the fault of the property. 10.00 am check out is far too early for this location combined with the 15.00 check in which they are very strict about. Maybe get the check in desk to be more flexible.

The hotel itself is located a bit outside of Utrecht, around 40minutes from the main train station by bus, but for me personally it wasn’t a problem, because i really enjoyed surrounding by nature. (bus stop 5 minuted from main hotel building) I had single room and breakfast included. So the room felt really clean, toiletries were provided. One thing that was a bit uncomfortable is bathroom plan, shower has no door so everything is wet after you take a shower… But totally bearable. Overall bed was comfortable and good internet. Breakfast was great. A lot to choose from, i am pescetarian, so i was glad to see many options without meat, was glad to see salmon there. Plus many fresh berries. Stuff was really friendly and knew english very well, so i had no problem communicating with them. In general would definitely book this hotel again!

I stayed there in December and at night it was a bit cold in my room. There was heating, but didn’t really help.

Excellent location with beautiful surroundings to take walks in between the trees and into the small town. I had asked staff if it was possible to book me into a room that would be secluded away so I could work in peace. They booked me in one of rooms on the far end of the complex, away from the centreground activities, which was great! Definitely returning here if I need a stay nearby

It is an interesting structure, as far as we understood a site for conferences and training with attached residential structures, located inside a forest. The rooms are ok, and inexpensive (beware: the rooms are very smart and architect-designed, which is great, but the architecht assumed that the doors to insulate the water closet from the rest of the room are not fashionable anymore, and you can imagine the consequences by yourself...), and the breakfast is great. Utrecht is more or less 20 min away by car, or 40/50 min with public transportation.

Great beds, wonderful service and incredible breakfast...

The shower and toilet together in a cubicle with no way to keep any towels or anything dry. The towels are kept outside of the shower, which makes sense but then there is wet all over the floor to get it, or a moderately damp towel if you bring it into the cubicle. The shower itself was decent, the rain shower adds nothing, and the shower head is a little dingy... good water pressure and nice complimentary soap/shampoo
