Quiet area at night but with good restaurants and cafes nearby. vibrant during day. Fresh water daily. Walking distance to lots. The Coffee at breakfast.

If guests moved around (eg late arrivals/early check out) it was really easy to hear - but, with earplugs (thank you Avianca) I could close this out. Eye mask also helped with sneaky light. Be prepared: no vehicle access so either lug bags along the Paseo (including steps) or access from ascensor (Reina Victoria). Area by ascensor attracts drinkers/drunks at night so be careful if you’re alone.

It was clean with crisp linens and large lush towels; however, i did not appreciate all the long dark hairs on the hardwood floors despite housekeeping service every day Thankfully i brought slippers and when i finally got the nerve to ask to have our room vacuumed, the staff was happy to take care it was done without hesitation Bathrobes would have been a nice touch

The whole hotel looks like a modern museum! So beautiful place with exceptional view of hotel and restaurant! Room was made everyday and fresh bottle of water was given daily too. It is recommended not to drink tap instead, you need to buy and carry your own water but, filtered and fruity water providede in reception area so you can drink water any time! Breakfast was rich and view was amazing! Staff has limited Engligh but she tried so hard and super kind. I loved her 😘 Plus, shower was amazing. Pressure and temperature was perfect!!

I arrived late (after 9pm) to the hotel, but luckily the restaurants kitchen was still open. Check-in was very quick and then I was able to run upstairs to the restaurant for a late dinner. I appreciated that they were accommodating to my late arrival. My room on the lowest floor was great! It was a good size for 1 person with 2 pieces of luggage. The architecture of the hotel is super cool. The breakfast was good - bring your sunglasses with you! The location in the city is awesome - very close walk to a lot of other great restaurants and shops.

The wifi worked the entire time, but it wasnt super strong in my lowest floor room when I was using my devices laying in the bed.

Loved this small boutique hotel: perfect position with great view over the town and sea. Quirky and stylish architecture making the most of a challenging space. Great restaurant on the rooftop with some of the best views in town. Room was good value, restaurant was a bit expensive but delicious food and great pisco sours. Staff (Valentina) were very helpful and friendly. Rooms are not big, but that's usual. Made for a relaxing and romantic getaway. Ideally positioned for walking around the most interesting part of town. My favourite stay in Chile and would highly recommend.

Nothing to complain about - we had a great stay. Bathroom was small but functional. There is no elevator and the hotel is located a few hundred metres down a street that can't be accessed by car, but just a few steps from one of the funiculars.

The best place to stay in Valpo! A beautifully curated hotel in this funky, artsy city, The Fauna boasts stunning views over the streets of Valpo and to the sea at the port area. The Terrace bar/restaurant is an amazing spot to enjoy the sunshine over breakfast and people watch in the evening. It's got a real buzz and you can sit and watch the comings and goings of this fascinating place from up high. We simply loved our room with its two tall windows - Valpo is such an interesting place and I loved simply enjoying watching the City spring to life every day and the local cats stroll through the streets of edgy wall art. A super comfy bed and spacious bathroom was also a bonus. Dinner on the terrace was great - there's a good mix of people always from musicians to families (at breakfast) of different nationalities. A great place to enjoy a Pisco Sour or two and watch the sun set.

Probably the best location in Valparaiso for a short stay. The restaurant is beautiful and very good too. It's a very unique hotel, the architecture is very interesting, but beware that you might have to go up the stairs because of how it's built. Also, there are no TVs in the rooms, we didn't need one, but it might be important to others. There is no parking but you can find payed garages nearby for $10/day. We parked on the side of the street (for free) close to the hotel with no problems.

We were a little confused getting there, the GPS doesn't take you to the right location by car. It'll tell you you've arrived and that you have to walk up a super steep and long set of stairs, but you can actually continue to drive uphill and get a lot closer by car. Once there, you have to walk a short (sort of flat) distance, it's less than a block. We had to park in the middle of the busiest part of Valparaiso to drop off the bags. We were large family with a decent amount of luggage, it was a bit messy to get it done. Someone from the hotel staff was vey nice and helped us carrying some of the baggage.

Fauna is world-class;it’s a cozy, chic, classy and comfortable way to experience the old and the new Valparaiso, tucked in the side of a mountain overlooking the neighbours’ roofs, the colourful, art-covered walls and the harbour down below. This is an architectural experience with firm, comfortable beds, an outside terrace where you can eat upscale comfort food served with a smile. The late Nobel-winning poet Pablo Neruda had a house a few blocks over that is a tourist Mecca: stay at the Fauna and you’ve one-upped him, the Fauna’s an ode in itself.

That I could not stay longer.

Great location, nice design and good rooftop restaurant with fab views.

We booked a suite and that totally wasn’t worth it: it was tiny and hence not as comfortable as we wanted it to be- should have just booked a regular room and saved our cash. There’s essentially only one true suite (see pics on website here) that would be worth it but that’s a lottery. Some staff were a bit disinterested and (buffet) breakfast was so so.

Brilliant location in the Conception District. Easy access via the Victoria lift to access by the port. Lots of good restaurants near by - although the Fauna's own Resturant was good. Lovely views of Valparaiso from the terrace. Plenty of other gardens to sit in too. Enjoyed a very nice cake as we'd stayed 3 nights with them - nice touch.
