I had a memorable trip to Medan. I enjoyed visiting local attractions like Istana Maimun and Masjid Raya, and tasted delicious halal dishes such as ayam penyet and soto Medan. My stay at Aryaduta Hotel was overall pleasant. I appreciated the hotel’s warm hospitality, strong safety measures, comfort, and quick service.

I found it a bit unusual that the reception was located on the 9th floor. There was also a half-naked painting on the 11th floor, which felt out of place. The room could use more thorough cleaning, especially around the edges and corners. The ironing device worked but was not in great condition. Tap water flow was a bit slow.

Big and comfortable rooms, beds like a heaven. BTW if you are smoking, you can take smoking room, and they are really good. I liked the pool designl: hotel is located on 9th floor, but the pool area is designed as court yard pool on the ground. Good service, bar, breakfest. Walking distance to streets with colonial architecture and main landmarks. Tip Top restaurant (local food institution) is also nearby (10 min to walk) - if you want to eat smth in local place, not hotel, it is only option during evening time (and Tip Top is really great place!)

The hotel is in a central location for seeing Medan. We had a spacious, clean, well-furnished room with a very comfortable bed, and excellent air-conditioning. The breakfast had a multitude of choices and we appreciated the restaurant being open throughout the day for meals and snacks. The swimming pool was big by hotel standards, at a guess 25m long at least, and clean, with sunbeds and tables around it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

There was no hair dryer. In-room massage was very nice, but the lady offered "special massage" (if you know what I mean), and such kind of offer shouldn't be made if the massage is officially offered by hotel.

Nice room and pool. Good view from the restaurant. My room was very quiet. Good shower.

AC in room was too noisy to leave running. Had some bad food from the restaurant - in particular, vegetable spring rolls tasted off and I couldn’t eat them. Vomited the night I checked out, but this might have been due to food eaten away from the hotel. Hassled about paying for late checkout when I had organised to pay for it when I checked out. Room key stopped working and I had a long wait at reception to get it fixed.

All services, and facilities are great. No further comments. Its just that we constantly being reminded by the staff of different issues. I stayed here booking 4 rooms, one of them is with the access to the pool room. Total we had 8 adults staying. I know my family is from a remote area and staying in a hotel is not something that is done on regular basis for them. Things like, we were not approached by a security guard in the pool, telling us that its not allowed to eat food from outside in the pool, in fact we ate some fruits we brought from home while chilling on sun bed exactly in front of our pool access room. The phrase I remembered the security guard says was ‘ economy guests cant brought outside food’ and i was like: is it damn hotel or seating zones in a flight: economy hotel guests? Like we look like ‘orang kampung’ ? One of our family member took swimming towels more than two, and she was approached by a staff member telling her only 2 towels per room, without bothered asking for how many ppl is the towel and how many rooms are there. The my cousin responded ‘we booked 4 rooms, actually what I took is still not enough’. One more thing, my sister family brought in her kids, 2 of them are 8 and 10, were surprisingly was asked to pay 70k per kids menu. I thought kids are not counted. And never got any info that says so. Anyhow its only kids under 10, one can imagine how much they could eat for breakfast. I think staff of the premises need to retrain on how to treat people without any prejudices, and be kind to others. And I hope the premises could also mention it clearly to the guest (write somewhere) if you wanna take a little money from kids under 10 for their breakfast. This way we wouldnt raise questions. Fyi, i mostly stay in Aryaduta since years ago when ever I come to Medan, however this treatment, makes me to reconsider other options in the future.

Well done engaging a talented live band on Friday night. Standard of cooking for a la carte and room service was better than most. Promo meals seemed well-thought out, especially the Tamini I ordered.

The treadmills at the gym all appeared in need of service. Some appeared to have electronic faults. Another was fine at walking speed, but was noisy and rough above 7.5 km/h. Consider repairing or replacing and upgrading. Some weakness in comprehension of my English, on the phone and face-to-face, resulted in minor service mistakes. Not being shown to the table on arrival for breakfast each day at the Kitchen.

Everything from the welcoming staff to the worldclass breakfast buffet.. our poolside room are awesome and the pool itself is fantastic.. its a great place to stay

1 or 2 persons from the restorant didnt seem to understand why we ordered food from outside of the hotel.. with a familly of 10 including kids..i think they should understand..

I like that it has cozy vibes and relaxing atmosphere. I had a pleasant time staying here, especially in my comfortable room. All in all, I would definitely recommend to others! For sure, I'll come back to this hotel whenever I'm going back to Medan
