We got our room upgraded when we checked in, which was definitely a plus, as we received a Lakeview and a larger room. The hotel is completely new, so everything in the room, including all the equipment, is brand new. However, the sink is slightly uncomfortable, as it’s hard to wash out things that get stuck around it. The price for the hotel and the location is reasonable. The breakfast was quite rich, they are also offering one hot dish made from eggs. There is also a coffee machine and teapot in the room. Overall, it was a nice stay.

During the day, there are still some renovation and construction works going on, which can get quite loud if you want to relax in the hotel during that time. The room lacks a fridge, and there is no reception, so everything is done automatically. The online system sometimes glitches, requiring you to ask the bar staff on the ground floor for help. The website mentioned that they provide train tickets, but when we inquired, they said they would ask the manager and never followed up. Additionally, I tried to use a promo code from their website before booking on their website, but the system wouldn’t accept it, and my email inquiry was ignored. This indicates some issues with their communication with clients.

Breakfast had always lots of choices and different food so wasn't boring. The tarts were a good choice. Loved the avocado spread and there was always a wide selection of fruit. Location wise we found it easy to reach different parts of Switzerland. We travelled mainly by car but the hotel is literally in front of the train station. Easy to go to Zurich centre if you don't want to drive. Area was quiet although there were some nice restaurants we liked to visit. The only thing is that they all close relatively early. Room was very comfortable, bed offered a good night sleep, found all we needed in the bathroom including a Nail file which I needed it!

Hotel didn't have any fitness facilities or spa but there were some very close. There is a gym you can go to but to access you need to pay 20 CHF which I thought to be a bit steep as price. I would have liked a better deal. However I went for a nice run along the lake. Bar closes before midnight, would have been better to stay open a bit longer for guests to unwind.

We’re not a “city trip“ family so not interested in the center of Zurich. We loved ”the yarn“! Very close to Lindt visitor center. Close to beaches along the Zurich lake. Easy to drive to Lucerne, Zurich airport, Alpamare…

Limited parking places

It was right in the best part of town, the train station was opposite the hotel, not that I needed the train because we brought our car with us. There was an Irish bar two doors along and an Italian restaurant next door r which served large portions of food, in other words good value for money if that’s what you are looking for. The interior of the bar and the restaurant was very nice and Breakfast the following day was superb with a fantastic breakfast buffet. Our room was very nice with a walk-in shower and a large bed I could have slept in for a week.

The prices in the restaurant which was a bit steep and not realising that you had to pre-book the parking if you wanted to use the hotels car park, I had to use the public car park but the good thing was that it was only a one minute walk away and it was under cover like a garage and the spaces were large.

The location is great. Right in front of the train station. The surrounding area is nice. The rooms were super clean and felt like pretty new. The breakfast was fine. I liked the self check-in and keyless access. Our room was facing train station and the lake, but there were no noises at all from trains inside the room.

The webapp used for check-in and unlocking doors needed constant login for each use for one of the rooms. The other one was fine. Also didn’t find a way to add both rooms to my device. The breakfast could have a bit more options.

The hotel location is super nice. It's a modern hotel, with an incredible decoration. Chose of colors and patterns were a plus. The room is super nice and clean, even the nice towels had a very good smell. I really recommend it. Incredible breakfast. The whole staff were well-trained, gentle and super polite.

The only thing I would say, of course, is the price. It's not cheap at all. But considering all the good topics I mentioned above, it's just logic.

The selection of the breakfast was really amazing. You were able to select from fresh fruits, different versions of bread, fresh eggs, Omeletts as well as fish, ham, salami, yam, Muesli, yogurt and so on. The size of the room was fantastic, the room interior was brand new as well as the comfort of the bed was really create.

Parking area is quite dense and the garage is quite narrow. For EV drivers, only 2 charging ports are available which can not be reserved in case you drive an EV. At my room was no light installed above the mirror in the bathroom. Hence, for shaving was the light quite dark at the bathroom.

The entire place was fantastic. The closeness to the train terminal literally 1 minute walk, the check-in to the hotel, the staff were sweet & friendly and inviting (compliments to Christine and the team), also the food was delicious - great breakfast and lastly, the rooms were just world class. Sad that we weren't able to book the lake view room but despite that, the room was just fantastic. Compliments to Nicole, Christine and the team. We just love your hotel and we were honored to spend new years 2025 with you all at the Yarn! Hope we can join some form of loyalty club for the hotel to always stay here. One of the best hotel experiences, my wife and I have ever had. Thank you all.

The rooms were clean & spacious. Loved the digital key system. The breakfast was very delicious. As a vegetarian, I struggle with getting hot items in breakfast, but this buffet breakfast was exceptional. The mushrooms were simply divine, the selection of yogurts, the poached eggs - everything was perfect. And the location was awesome - just across the lake & train station.

Very nice Hotel! Of course it‘s in a small town and there you don‘t have price levels like in big cities, but as a frequent traveller I was really impressed by the value/price ratio. The hotel is brand new, nothing worn down, everything shines. You can also tell that everything is thought through, much love and attention to details.

Rich Breakfast buffet really good and meets international standards. Maybe it was just me, but somehow the breakfast experience was a bit weird. First I came with my room key to announce myself for included breakfast. The staff member was unfriendly/indifferent/annoyed. Then I had difficulties to help myself at the buffet, the utilities and food arrangement felt a bit unpractical. It was not clear at all that my cutlery will be placed at the table of my choice and there was no one at the time I came, I felt a bit lost. Cutlery should already be on the table for a welcoming experience. While having bf, I witnessed another staff member delivering a 5-star service to other guests, as so often, people make the difference.
