Small clean hotel. The hotel owner/manager is super involved in creating a great space for her guests (nothing is too much trouble). Great breakfast.

Although the hotel wasn't far away from the train station/Bahnhofstrasse (about 10mins walk) it seems very far when carrying suitcases (especially as the last part is uphill). I only found out afterwards I could have taken the tram from airport as it stops right outside hotel.

It’s very accessible from anywhere in Zurich. A long block away from Old Town yet far enough from the crowd. It’s in a quiet neighborhood and we feel safe walking at night. It’s near the main train station, but you need to take the tram to go up the hill to the hotel especially if you have heavy luggage. No problem, the trams 6 & 10 stop in front of the hotel. There’s a nice Catholic Church across the hotel. The breakfast is good and filling. It’s a good base in Zurich to explore other cities or join day tours to other cities.

Maybe the walking uphill, but you don’t have to there’s a tram only you pay that’s the downside.

Hotel personel was great. Especially Attila, front desk staff was very helpful and a very good host. Tram number 10 directly arrives to and departs from Airport. Also very close to Zurich Hb. Breakfast was also great and included in our price.

From Bahnhopf if you walk, there are 3 stairs, one of them is big. That is not easy with luggage. Suggest to take tram number 6 or 10

The staff is out of this world. Every detail counts, for example, upon my arrival (an incredibly hot day), I just loved being offered an ice cream as a welcome gift. They are supernice and made my stay supercomfortable, even helped me with the tram ticket machine to get to the airport. Also, the location is great: 15 min walk to downtown, two steps away (truly two steps) from the tram station that gets to the airport, 10 min walk to the train station. It is located on uphill, so the view from my room was also lovely. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I come back to Zurich.

We had a very nice 3 day stay at the Royal Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Attila who gave us a lovely room and Nadine who helped us with airline check in. The breakfast was very good with hot and cold items. The lady in the kitchen running it worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was looked after.

We didn't realize the hotel is located on a steep hill so it was a long haul with our luggage from the train station. We would take a taxi or tram next time.

The kitchen staff was very kind, excellent food and service, clean and appetizing. "Jost" in the kitchen, sorry, I didn't get her name, wonderful lady. Serge at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, perfect English, nice man. We have been at this hotel, probably 5 times, starting in 1997. stayed 2 times in rooms on the 4th floor, in 2009 we were on the 4th floor again, 2017, we were in a room on the 7th floor, fabulous view, nice room, This year we were on the 6th floor.

Room was on the top floor and had a nice view over the city. It was comfortable and clean. The staff of Serge and Nico were outstanding. The location was directly across from the tram line and another was a short walk away. The hotel was only two tram stops from the train station. The city was very accessible. I am glad we stayed here.

Breakfast was very overpriced for what was available. But, we did enjoy the special seasonal breakfast tea available separately. The hotel also had a nice selection of beer and wine available at reasonable prices.

Walking distance from the main train station, which is the hub for travel. You can travel from there to any place in Zurich as well as Switzerland. Also walking distance from a large supermarket and many bars and restaurants. The no 10 tram stops right in front of the hotel and this is the tram you can take from the airport. Very convenient. This tram also also take you to the main train station. The staff is very very friendly and helpful and are doing a great job.

The rooms are very basic. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room would be very nice.

It is well located within short walking district of the train station, core downtown shops and restaurants as well as further buses.

An older, basic hotel, but very charming. Staff were superb, helpful and kind in every aspect. Beds were comfortable and shutters rolled down to black out the room. Hotel was quiet, no street noise. Everything was clean. I only had coffee, but the breakfast looked plentiful and well prepared. Coffee was great.

There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and tiles. This seems out of character for such a charming hotel in every other way. Otherwise, it was very clean.
