Fantastic breakfast buffet, fast elevator and wonderful staff. Rooms are fairly large and have comfortable beds. Very modern, airy feel. Fantastic location just steps from the main train station.

There's no air conditioning in the winter, which can be a problem when it gets warm and humid out, because of the thick down comforters. Opening a window is not practical on weekends because of nearby bars with outdoor tables and a very loud clientele. So we always have to use earplugs.

The staff at the reception were so unfriendly, no smiles, no saying welcome. Felt as if we were intruding on their space. After a 25 hour journey it would of been nice to be greeted in a better way. The breakfast was lovely, and Catherine needs an award for the best customer service. She is AMAZING. She remembered peoples coffee and tea preferences. The room was great, good size, beds were soo comfortable felt like I was in a cloud.. Room was kept clean.

Sour staff at reception, never acknowledged anyone. At checkout they were even more sour.

Location - 5 min walk from the main train station. The little things ; like umbrella and shopping bag hanging in room to use if needed. Coffee machine in room The big things; Reception staff especially David when we checked in so helpful to our friends who booked the right brand, wrong hotel and the Breakfast staff both mornings Breakfast is very good and the women work tirelessly to get everyone coffee and keep the dining area clean

Room 415 is clean and adorable with it’s skylights but very claustrophobic , especially for taller people with the knee-wall making much of the room unusable.( see pic approx 2 feet from door to the headboard) Bathroom however was a good size with a great shower and products TV said smart TV when turned on but there were no options for guests to stream or even pay for a movie. There were only 2 English speaking channels both foreign news seemingly on a loop.

My daughter and I came to Zürich for a 3 night city break, and specifically to go to a concert. Our stay at the Sorell Hotel Rütli was really great. We received a free upgrade when we checked in, which made the stay even more comfortable with more space and larger twin beds instead of the double room I had booked. Coffee machine and kettle in room was good to have, and fridge was handy for our drinks, water etc. Large bathroom. Everything was very clean. Choice of pillows is extensive! Breakfast was included, which made our stay good value. And the breakfast spread was very nice, varied and fresh. Fresh breads, croissants, buns, yogurts, dried fruit, bircher, cereals, scrambled eggs, falafel, eggs for you to boil, and pancakes. Delicious jams and honey, chocolate spread, maple syrup... A perfect location too - just a couple of minutes walk to the main Zürich HB station, and to the polybahn up to the university buildings where you get a great view of sunset over Zürich. Zürich museum, next to the station, is really good. Also located right by cafés & restaurants, the river, and then amble along the river & cute streets to the cathedrals etc. The pizza at the small place up the road from the hotel was very good and very good value. We loved our stay and really loved Zürich, it is such a compact, lovely, clean, easy city! I would suggest considering the Zürich Card if you are staying for a day or a few, and not really planning to travel across the country to mountains etc -the ZC covers all transport in and around Zürich and the wider area, plus gives you free or discounted entry to some places. Makes life very very easy.

Nothing! The only thing I can say was that my daughter wished there had been pancakes on Monday & Tuesday mornings as well as Sunday, but it was much much quieter at the hotel on these days, so I think they had (understandably) limited the quantity of things out. We didn't ask for any as she didn't want to (teenager!), but I'm sure they would have obliged.

Location is very close to Zurich's main train station, which is one of the reasons we keep coming back. They also provide a very large breakfast buffet, and bring coffee or other drinks like espresso to your table. We also like that every room has a Nespresso machine, plus there's one in the lobby; so it's nirvana for coffee lovers. Very personable, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Decent sized lobby area for meeting friends.

The faucet on our bathroom sink was incredibly stiff; simply turning on the water was a challenge. There's no air conditioning during winter months, so you have to sleep with the windows open, which is nice until 2-3 am, when the bars close and all the partiers start yelling in the street. This hotel is also not a great place to meet anyone who's driving a car, because the parking is very limited.

Great staff, good room size, great location , good coffee, good food

The breakfast process can be improved. The staff have to do too much (empty and clean tablets, serve coffee, serve the deli platters, replenish the food) and they are a bottleneck when it's getting busy. I think having the guests self serve with coffee and empty their tables after finishing eating would help a lot. This is not a complaint against staff, they have too much to do. It did not affect our igreat mpression about the hotel, it is a suggestion for improvement

Average Eeuropean breakfast. (Far better than a French breakfast but weak for a Turkish person) Room was clean and spacious. Access to the hotel was very easy. Location is very nice. Walked everywhere with my 4.5 YO kid even without the need of trams.

Reception Staff could be more friendly and welcoming. No much communication, just when necessary with no smile. Hotel lobby was a little bit small. Costly but not bad compared to other similar hotels. A little bit of noise during night from the pubs but didn't effect sleep quality.

The rooms were an excellent size for a single traveller. The bed was comfortable, and options for blankets and pillows were provided according to your preference. The room also had an umbrella, which helped on a rainy day. Breakfast had good options, and the lady staff serving breakfast was super friendly and cheerful. The location is great, within a 3-minute walk to Zurich, HB, and right next door is the Polybahn to ETH, from where you can see a nice panoramic view of Zurich City. All Zurich attractions are within walking distance.

The hallways lacked security, and the room bolts didn't lock, which they said was for fire safety considerations.

Great location across the river. About 10 min walk from Zurich HB and has a direct tram station 50m away that connects to shopping area. Comfortable beddings. We booked 2 rooms, 1 of which was much bigger than the other, which helps with our luggages. Staffs were helpful.

The bathroom in the bigger room looks like a makeshift installed in the room. Can be quite cold in winter. Soundproofing was quite poor as we could hear people talking and passing through the room, which was located next to the lift and stairs. Breakfast spread is minimal.
