Great location, the hotel is beautiful, very well stocked kitchen -you can cook there. The sofa bed is very good and convenient if you visit with kids. Amazing Coffee (unfortunately the first few days the coffee machine didn't work at maple building and we had to go to the main Cedar building; it was fixed later). The front desk ladies are very nice and pleasant to communicate with.

Cleaning services are available upon request... After three days we asked specifically to change towels and remove garbage bins between 11 and 17 when we were out on hiking. When we came back after 19, nothing was changed. I had to call front desk and ask again; 10-15 minutes later, frond desk staff brought the towels and took the garbage out.

I particularly liked how welcoming they were to our dog, with a little "doggie bag" which included a towel for muddy feet. The dark washcloth for makeup removal is a smart offering & I appreciated all the hooks for hanging clothing & towels. The furniture, furnishings & decor were tasteful & pleasing. My husband really liked the cookies left in the lobby, along with the cappuccino machine & water. Dinner at the Old House was delicious & reasonably priced. Nice location with easy access to the riverside walk & proximity to the downtown. Finally, the commitment to environmental stewardship sets them apart (compost in the lobby along with recycling bins) & fits our values.

We enjoyed our stay at the Old House Hotel in Courtenay with our dogs. Our suite, complete with a full kitchen, was spotless and well-equipped, making it easy to feel at home. Having access to a washer and dryer was an added bonus. The staff were accommodating, and the hotel’s pet-friendly approach made traveling with our dogs stress-free. Just steps away, Locals Restaurant offered an outstanding menu—we highly recommend making a dinner reservation while in town. Overall, the Old House Hotel is a perfect choice for comfort, convenience, and dog-friendly hospitality.

It was lovely being on the river path. The coffee maker and kitchenette were such a nice treat. And real cream! Free guest laundry was a nice bonus. Loved having a patio door to the outside. Very nice staff who upgraded my friend for one night due to noise. Locals restaurant was great! Pricey but delicious. Nice ambience.

Bed was a bit firm. But that’s just a personal preference. A few thinner pillows would be good. Having reminders for people using the pool to be mindful of their volume would be helpful as some people were extremely loud. Room service would be nice to have.

We stayed in The Maple building. Suite was an excellent deal via booking.com. I think the full seasonal price would have been above my budget. The adjacent restaurant was excellent - better dessert menu than most restaurants. Bathtub and shower were great. Good coffee machine, nice to have cream in fridge. Pool and hot tub were clear clean and inviting. I wish pool was a bit bigger in order to get a few strokes in.

There were young kids upstairs that got up at 7am and made a ton of noise. I think the parents thought if they put them on the porch the noise wouldn’t go through, but it did. When i mentioned it to management, they let me know they had already approached them as i was calling. So i was happy they were trying to be proactive before i called. I wish there were some grab-and-go breakfast items available since you really have to get out a track down breakfast in that location.

Very nice stay at the Old House. All staff - from front desk to manager to housekeeping - were so friendly, helpful, and gracious! Appreciated the treats (two types of apples, 4 types of afternoon cookies, teas/coffees) in the lobby. The main building, Cedar, is what you see in most photos. Beside this is Locals Restaurant (and the proverbial old house), and beside that is the Maple building with its own lobby lounge area and the hotel fitness facility. All buildings are just steps away from the riverwalk, a nice paved walkway for a leisurely stroll or bike. The fitness room itself was smallish but with a good variety of equipment, though it was quite cold (which they apologized for!). Our room was spacious and very well-equipped, with a large bathroom (soaker tub), two double beds, a good size kitchenette with Nespresso, fireplace/chair, table/chairs, and balcony.

I was expecting a 'regular' hotel room. I love all the extras from the makeup mirror to the fireplace not to mention an in room dishwasher and washer and dryer! Hubby is obsessed with the coffee machine downstairs, the cookies and apples are a nice bonus too! I would have booked for our entire stay on the island if I had known I would fall in love! The air park path behind is perfect and we walked to restaurants and the grocery store.

Loved the superb friendliness of the staff, ambience of the property, great size of room and its features. Nice that it was off of the main drag. Bed was super-comfy, heated bathroom floors... yum!. Decoration of room and quality of all features were very high quality! AWESOME coffee in the lobby! :). Free homemade cookies at front desk. Everything was well-considered for wheelchair (just a temporary thing for me, so extra appreciated). Some hotels say they are wheelchair-friendly, but it's usually just some modifications, or an afterthought on a regular room, and can still be a pain to get around or in the tub, etc.... this hotel considered everything during the design phase, and did an outstanding job - thank you!

Bathroom door didn't stay completely open well, so kept getting caught with the wheelchair. Shower curtain was maybe 2" too short, so water got out easily. Shower holder thing was weird, as it wouldn't hold the handheld shower thing straight (and it fell out a few times), and you had to brace it up with the tightening thing below it, so it wouldn't sit straight either. None of these were detriments, just some feedback! xx

Loved all the extras: handwritten card and complimentary chocolate in the room, cream and sugar for the nespresso coffee in the rooms, coffee machine in the lobby with whole beans making everything from americanos to lattes. The wall mounted makeup mirrors in the bathrooms were also a nice touch. Pool and hot tub were well maintained and a pleasure at the end of the days. Staff were all friendly and informative as well.

It was quiet and clean

The windows in our room would not open. I know this is how a lot of hotels are being constructed, but I do feel uncomfortable when I can't get some fresh air into a room. The pillows are big and really more appropriate to be used as fenders on a fishing boat. They're good if you wanna sit up in bed and watch TV, but I found them too bulky to sleep with.
