Location was excellent next to the town square and the rooms were designed in a really nice way to make it feel special. The blackout shutters were welcome in 40 degree heat. The breakfast was fantastic and the waitress was really insightful and friendly. Pool was quaint and just right.

Reception was a bit grumpy. Maybe have darker lights in the bathroom as it feels a bit clinical.

An eclectic, comfortable property in the dead center of Trancoso, with the entire village within a few minute’s stroll. Ricardo, the manager, kindly received me a bit late in the evening, and made sure I had everything I needed for my one-night stay.

While the included breakfast was appreciated, I was the only one in the dining room for most of the time, and so it was a slightly awkward mood. This isn’t a reflection on the hotel - after all, it was mid-week after the end of the high season - but I probably should have ventured out to one of the village cafés for a livelier experience.

The hotel is situated in an old grand home and certainly a very comfortable and historic place to stay. Our room had a balcony which enabled the extension of our room. Our host Richard was very helpful with tourist plans and all staff friendly and really keen to assist our stay. Great breakfasts and a wonderful garden with a well kept pool which was available for us to use. The location was great being inside the castle walls. Would recommend to others. The lift was a great addition for a hotel this size!!

Beautiful comfortable room overlooking central square with superb breakfast. Delightful library sitting room was available for use. Great location.

A kettle in the room and some tea bags would have been appreciated.

The house and bedroom are beautifully furnished and we liked its location in the heart of the historic town.

Nothing - a bit disappointed that the swimming pool was not available although this was clearly stated on the booking.com site. An earlier breakfast than 0830 would've been welcome!

A beautiful hotel with all modern fixtures and a great room. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of items. Hotel was tight on the main plaza within the city walls.

Better lighting in the room.

This accommodation was beautifully decorated and with a very homely feel to it. Such love and care was taken with the presentation of each component of the breakfast buffet. Home made cake served from a lovely cake stand was just one example. Our room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The accommodation is very centrally located, right in the heart of the old town and parking was not an issue and was very safe. Staff were welcoming and very helpful, especially with suggesting local restaurants for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Trancoso.

Loved the surroundings, in the middle of a very old city. It was romantic, with great breakfast and nice room with view over a cute square. The pool was cold but a nice end of the day!

It was a little pricey. For the rest, no issues whatsoever.

Breakfast was good and nice selection. Location of the hotel inside the old walls was perfect and easy to find. Nice terrace off our room. Good secure storage for our bikes while we stayed.

Like having the option of making tea or coffee in room.
