We really enjoyed our stay here especially as we arrived very wet and cold after cycling here from Trancoso. Thelma gave us a warm welcome and told us the story of Lapa which we then enjoyed exploring the next day. The room was very stylish, comfortable and warm. The shared bathroom was very clean and the shower was hot. We had a good breakfast in the communal kitchen and felt very ' at home'. The village is lovely and interesting, especially the church which is built onto a cave. We bought some local cheese in the shop and it was delicious- very creamy. Definitely a good visit despite cold, wet weather which is normal at this time of year and because Lapa itself is high in the hills.

Check in was a bit difficult. A note on the door suggested we go to a local shop for the keys but we couldn't find the shop of that name. Eventually we rang the phone number and Thelma,arrived with keys in 5 minutes and was very helpful.

The staff was amazing, very thoughtful and helpful with everything we needed. We were staying there to go to a wedding close by so we were pretty clueless about the place so they explained to us the history of the church that sits right next to it and that's definitely worth a visit.

It was all good.

Lovely location. Room is lovely. Spacious bathroom. Thelma was very friendly & attentive. Breakfast was good, you got fresh oven croissants, nata's and homemade jams.

We stayed for five nights, linen was not changed, we were told on the forth day that the linen was to be changed, we declined as we were leaving the next day. Bathroom not cleaned, we asked twice for toilet paper and towels and bins were only emptied then. Shower pressure not great. There is no bedside lamp only two main lights that have a duel purpose of main and semi side. If your partner is sleeping you cannot switch off there light only.
