breakfast buffet included, no option to decline and get refund. Basic choices but lots of it. Hotel is built into the rock making it very quirky. Owners allowed me to park bike on their private forecourt rather than on the main road.

no English spoken. My fault, not theirs but I cannot learn every language on the planet! I already have English, Spanish and French. Portuguese was a step too far in the time I had available. Lots of stairs and disjointed hallways. Great if on ground floor or with little baggage, bit of a hike otherwise

Perfectly located, right in the old part of town. The room itself is OK, but I wouldn't rate it more than that,as the windows are outdated and not the best quality to begin with. The floor itself was damaged next to mine, if from moist or something else I couldn't say. The bathroom is really small, however it performs it's purpose. All in all, the place could be improved a lot by some work done to it, but in any case, it's still good enough to spend the night while traveling. Bikers are allowed parking inside the premises for that extra peace of mind.

The location was just perfect, just on the side the is the most famous tower, which has an elevator to go up and see the great views, 100% accessible. Also the rest of the city centre is really close. The room was perfect, windows well isolated and with proper blinds, the mattress really confortable, all very clean, and everything you needed in the private bathroom, including hair dryer. There were stairs to my room but they have rooms with no stairs, and there is an elevator that can also be used to go to the floor where they serve their great generous breakfast included in every booking, the lady serving you the food is really nice! At the main entrance, there is also a totally accesible gate at the left when looking at the building.

I only missed a socket near the bed to charge my phone at night. Maybe that can be easily solved with a plug extension?

This is an excellent 3 star hotel. The decor and architecture of the public spaces is wonderful creating lovely areas to sit in. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Location is absolutely in the centre. The bathroom reflects this and the age of the hotel. The room was much larger than many, if a little dated. Key thing was the bed was comfortable. The breakfast (included in the room price) was generous.

The bathroom products in tear open sachets, didn't tear easily. Personally not keen on over bath showers

The breakfast was good, fresh … however a bit limited in its selection. The personalized breakfast service was nice. The beds were extremely comfortable.

There is NO AIR CONDITIONING even though the room advertised there to be. We had to request a fan (which was provided) in order for the room to be comfortable. The bathroom lacked space… the shower was THE smallest I had ever seen.

Hotel Santos is an older, family-run hotel with a quirky layout - parts of the town's old medieval wall runs through the centre of the building. The location is great, easy walking distance to sites in town. The room was clean and comfortable, if a bit dated - but that added character. The staff were extremely helpful, pointing us in the direction of restaurants and places to buy wine.

There wasn't anything to not like - no complaints. We found a parking spot directly outside the hotel, but with only on-street parking, that might sometimes be an issue.

Management and staff are very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Cleanliness is fantastic. Breakfast is very good. Location is great

The hotel building is a bit dated with much-needed up grading particularly when it comes to the electrical system for one short circuit in a single room rendered the entire floor we were in without electricity in the bathroom during the night. Privacy is also another issue. The bedroom walls are very thin. One can easily hear neighboring phone conversations, for example.

The hotel offers "parking". This means you have the opportunity to park on the street in the middle of a busy city. Check in was difficult because we do not speak Portuguese. We tried to pay at check-in and the receptionist (man in 60s) said "no". We assumed this meant the hotel had decided to accept payment through booking.com. In the morning, there was no receptionist. Later, we received a message from booking.com that we had failed to pay. We called the hotel to arrange payment and they hung up on us (twice!). It all worked out, but was it was not as smooth as it could have been.

This hotel just has a lovely feel to it with genuine and caring staff. It's sort of built into the hill close to the historic parts The breakfast was excellent and I would happily stay again and recommend to others Even some English TV channels. I was on a motorbike and the kind lady allowed me to park it in a gated area in front of the hotel. A very pleasant night 😎😎

Confusion at check-in desk. The house-keeper was called, a most delightful, kind and welcoming lady. She quickly resolved the issue - showed us 2 options and let us choose the room we liked best. Delicious wholesome breakfast served with a beaming smile. Fresh rolls, steaming pot of coffee and hot milk, eggs, yoghurt, cheese, ham, fresh fruit.
