the food was all amazing. the location is magical. the staff are charming and very helpful. lots to explore nearby (by car) and great walks to do too. beautiful decor throughout. lovely emphasis on sustainability in the products too.

our room in the original booking was pretty small, but we expected that and had the cheapest rate and reserved late. but there was a problem with some small thing and they just transferred us to a much bigger better room without hesitation.

Everything! This is one of the best hotels in Portugal, and positive the hotel with better staff. It's unbelivable the staff effort to make us feel at home. And that's how we felt! The food, the live músic, the room, the increbidle swimming pool, the walking tour with Rodrigo!

Beautiful surroundings, very remote, quiet place. The indoor pool is very nice too. The food was amazing! Breakfast and dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to get downtime.

I wish the sitting area could be closed off from the bedroom, so we could have light and sound while our child slept. And I am very sensitive to light and thought the air conditioning on light was too bright in the bedroom.

Incredible location, beautiful facilities and brilliant staff. We didn't realise we had a snack time and cocktail hour included in our stay which was great. The information provided about local walks was great. The restaurant was also brilliant. A wonderful experience.

The air conditioning didn't work properly. The room was lovely but a little small for the price. We would have appreciated more of an indoor sitting area.

Beautiful hotel in the Serra da Estrela mountains. Our bedroom was nicely furnished and extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful (e.g. preparing us a packed lunch for our hike, ironing a shirt before dinner, reserving spa facilities). Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were delicious and we enjoyed stunning views. Highly recommended if you want a quiet break in nature (and worth the drive!)

It was an amazing stay in the mountains. We regret that we booked only one night. The restaurant is incredibly tasty and the view is marvelous. Every particular detail is super beautiful and comfortable. The simple aesthetics are everywhere, and the staff are super nice and helpfull.

Everything was amazing, great service, very nice staff and excellent value for money. Great location.

We loved almost everything! There were 2 not crucial issues that I would consider to improve: 1) The dinner was a bit not in line in terms of taste with the general level of the hotel. The food presentation was great and also the service. 2) there was a bit of noise from the cars at the road near our suite.

Everything ! What a fantastic place! The view is stunning, the room is spacious, the balcony offered a beautiful view on the valley, the food incl breakfast and dinner were delicious, the massage was sooo relaxing and professionally made...the staff working in reception, SPA, waiters or waitresses, cleaners were all very polite, warm and welcoming too. And thank you also to the very friendly guy who took us twice hiking in the surroundings of the second Burrel hotel, he is mega friendly, knowledgeable and passionate of nature!

Nothing to say except that the swimming pool temperature could be warmer! It was a bit chilly for an indoor pool.

This is a truly special hotel in an amazing location. Every detail is considered, from the room design, the textiles (wool of course!), the meals, the spa, and the service. We have stayed at many luxury hotels around the world and this is a truly memorable place. Also the staff is very kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

Beautifully designed hotel located in the picturesque surroundings. We really enjoyed spa, sauna and massage were great. Dinner was delicious. We could not enjoy our stay more and we hope to come back

The only small issue were very thick blankets that were too warm for summer season. However, I am sure this matter could be solved if we stayed longer than one night
