The ambience and decoration was really beautiful and the staff was exceptionally nice. The food in the restaurant was divine and breakfast had a good variety of food for all tastes. The overall prices outside of the package are adequate too. Everywhere we went in the facilities, it was super cozy and warm even though it was freezing outside.

Sometimes we could hear children scream from the other rooms across the hall, but I don't think this is really 100% on the hotel to control, other than maybe some better isolation through the doors. For us, it was not a big issue.

We are a group of six mature motorcyclists touring in the Sierra Estrella area, and stayed in this hotel for three nights to make the most of the mountain roads and scenery, which are stunning. The hotel is really good value (as off-peak ski-lodges tend to be), staff were excellent (shout out to Mozart in the bar), food was great and good value, and the added benefit of an indoor pool which was lovely and warm. Just what you need after a day's riding in the mountains. Highly recommended.

Very helpful staff, beautiful localisation, swimming pool with sun-beds, a lot of common places (inside and outside) for work/ play board games/ drink wine/ read etc. Hotel is very close to Torre, the view is amazing and you can meet goats :)

Room was a little bit dark, but we mostly spend time outside so it was not that problematic, nearest shop in Covilhã (so in case you don't want to go there during your stay be prepared in advance), not much space outside for outdoor activities (playing ball or something) - most space is parking so it's not very safe to play there.

Great staff and beautiful location in the heart of Serra da Estrela. Cozy, mountain-like vibe around the hotel with plenty of space and hang-out areas plus a breakfast that should suit everyone's needs and wishes :-) Also, the heated pool was great.

Our room felt a little bit outdated and the bed was not the most comfortable either. To our understanding there is already more modern rooms, however, we did not get one of them. This was the only critque we could point out though, all in all we still had a great stay and the main reason for our stay was the location anyway. I still recommend staying here without a doubt.

Lovely warm room and cosy bed. Breakfast was a smashing buffet. My wife enjoyed the pool (she bought a cap prior to arriving, but you can buy one at the hotel €5). Evening meal was €25pp buffet, but we didn't eat there. Good WiFi. There appears to be a bus service at least twice a day. There is a PR walk route nearby which is well sign posted, spectacular scenery and geology (rough terrain, takes about 2.5-3hrs). Friendly staff. Will stay again.

Located in the mountains outside of the town Covilhâ, the Luna Hotel is an ideal location to start exploring la Serra da Estrela if you arrive like in our case from the center of Portugal. The hotel offered a very nice and delicious buffet in the evening for 25€ per person (travel time: end of october 2024). There are enough parking slots in front of the hotel for cars.

I can't think of a single thing. I wish we could have stayed there longer than a night.

I was so happy to visit this region of Portugal. The highlands. I came to ski. And Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela was my Home Base. The hotel was lovely, and the staff were fantastic! The first shift Receptionist Tuesday morning was Super Helpful and lovely! Can you thank her for me? (I didn’t get her name unfortunately…) Also, a special thank you to Luis. We had dinner at the Restaurant Medieval. And it was Wonderful!!! Great, friendly staff, and excellent food… I will visit again for sure!!!

The breakfast was very complete and very tasty. The staff was very friendly and thoughtful. The room had a great view, was very clean and complete with small refrigerator for drinks, tv with a bunch of channels, etc...

I didn't remember to bring a eye mask, the "light" from the emergency card in the back of the door and some light from the windows (the curtains were good but didn't covered all) didn't help to get some sleep. The rigidity of the mattress was easily fixed: just sleep with the duvet below.

Ace locations. Lovely looking huge wide hotel. 25 euros for mega eat as much as u can buffet. Fantastic food. Great breakfast. Rooms 3 star. Hotel 4 plus. Pool is cool. 2/3rds inside. 1/3 outside. Great idea. Huge carpark. Free. Didn't even lock motorcycles up. Loads of inside seating as ski hotel in winter. Roads around the place where Fantastic.

The hotel is lovely, the breakfast is good with fresh orange as an option and wonderful scrambled eggs. The main restaurant was very traditional with an option of meat or fish and some grilled meat which was tasty . Vegetables bountiful although canned carrots a disappointment. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed.
