This place is very easy to find, just south of the river from Manteigas, downhill and on the right. There was plenty of parking, places to sit outside, a lovely pool (quite a relief as it was very hot) and lots of friendly cats. The owners are very friendly (learn some Portuguese or bring a phrase book!) and the hotel is very charming, lots of atmosphere. Breakfast was very good with hot milk and coffee. There are coffee-making facilities in the guest lounge. Our room had a bath and shower and balcony windows. Manteigas is also a lovely friendly place with churches that are a lot more interesting than the touristy ones in Porto and Lisbon, atmospheric restaurants and some great souvenir shops. If you want to go to Poco Do Inferno, it's best to drive just up to the Glacier Information Centre further up the hill and then walk on the road the rest of the way, as the road is single-track with drops on either side and was very busy with tourists. We're used to single-track roads (as we're from the Western Isles of Scotland) but it is more relaxing to walk if you can keep out of the sun. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much and would definitely recommend it.

The hosts were great even though English was not an easy option, we got by with French. The breakfast was great and welcome, facilities were good with decent shower.

The weather was atrocious. We took an option of a three-bed room to give more space-BIG MISTAKE. The two-bedded room was marginal with two beds , but same size with three beds impossible-don't make the same mistake.

The staff, although they spoke very little English, were super friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast was superb with tea, fresh coffee, fresh bread rolls, ham, salami, cheese, jam, honey, fresh fruit and cake. There was also a pool to cool off in. It was located across the river from town in a lovely treed area.

The owners are genuinely friendly, welcoming and kind. Such a pleasure to meet them, the room was beautiful, clean, comfortable bed and stunning view. The location is great since its not in the town centre, just surrounded by beautiful green scenery! The breakfast was fresh (top class products, lovely jams etc), so tasty and a quite a spread! I will definitely be back there as soon as I can.

Nothing, loved everything about the place. Everything was as per the booking site but as mentioned, I found it to be better than expected, it was pure bliss... peaceful, beautiful, welcoming.

Very charming family serving a nice breakfast. Sufficient chairs near the pool and umbrellas. Two tables where one could eat a simple little lunch and/or dinner.

Suggestions for lunch and dinner would have been welcome although Google is a help already but ratings are not reliable always

Cute place, located up a lane slightly away from centre, town nearby with a decent super market. Breakfast was lovely, rooms basic but comfortable. Great location, was back on my GPX route in minutes. Owner is a legend 👌 seems a real character and lent me his kettle for the night. Private off road parking for motorbike that’s tucked up off the main road and out of sight, no drama there! Would use again 👍

Staying here was a wonderful Experience. The breakfast was decent . We were given Coffee, fresh bread, cheese, juice, grapes ,fresh jam and butter.

Addition of a boiled egg and some yoghurt to the breakfast would make it perfect. We had an issue with the hot water however the issue was resolved the same day.

Nice host. Breakfast is great with homemade jam and cake. Nice bed and room, which is cleaned daily. Quiet area surrounded by fruit trees.
