Absolutely amazing! I swear Izumi-san has to be one of the nicest people on the planet. He offered to drive us to and from town and is on hand if you need a lift back to the B and B! The breakfast (both Japanese and Western-style) was unbelievable, I am vegetarian and Izumi-san was able to accommodate it very well. うまい! The room is out of this world, with so many small details that make the stay unforgettable. For example, the deepest bathtub I have seen IN MY LIFE (with hot spring salts), thicker-than-normal mattresses on the futon which makes them more comfortable, and a balcony with a small table and chairs. The room is extremely clean and perfectly minimalist. The location is STUNNING. The balcony looks out into the forest with a small stream/waterfall (you can hear the rushing water). We went in summer (the cicadas were deafening, but now I miss them) and we saw a mother and baby wild deer outside from the balcony! They were really close, and it was such a magical experience. The little lodge and location are exemplary of a place three times the price. Stay here. You won't regret it :) Our stay was phenomenal. Thank you so much, Izumi-san
What an evil question, suggesting that there is something not to like about this place.

Mr. Izumi was a very hospitable and kind host. You can really by all the attention, care and detail he put into to ensuring the guest rooms are comfortable, impeccably clean and well stocked with amenities for a relaxing stay. As well, the view from the guest room balcony was beautiful even in winter. His Japanese breakfasts were delicious and filling. We really appreciated him picking us from the train station when we arrived and drove us to and picked us from the sights and the centre of town since his B & B was bit further away from the main strip in Nikko. He really ensured the stay was enjoyable and relaxing with his hospitality. It was the perfect stay for everyone in our family to relax including my 8 year old son and husband who just completed the Tokyo marathon.

Izumi is an exceptional host who made our stay in Nikko very pleasant and comfortable. He is professional, kind, and resourceful. Izumi provided us with maps and tips on best scenic spots in Nikko. He picked us up from the Nikko Tobu Station upon arrival. He went above and beyond to make reservations for us and pick us up from restaurants after dinner. The B&B is meticulously designed to provide guests with maximum comfort. It is such a treat to sit in the balcony with a running stream and trees around. The walk from Izumi’s B&B to the main road is very scenic with fall colors everywhere. Izumi is quite a chef. We devoured his homemade Japanese breakfast every morning. We enjoyed Izumi’s hospitality immensely and will definitely return in the future!

We absolutely loved our stay at B&B Izumi Nikko, and Izumi-san was an exceptional host. He answered all of my questions promptly before the trip and kindly gave us rides to and from the train station, as well as to dinner. The Japanese breakfast he prepared was delicious and filling with the freshest ingredients. The traditional room was perfect, offering a serene escape. It includes a lovely bath and large room to unwind after a busy day of hiking. We enjoyed our coffee in the morning on the private balcony sitting out by the beautiful creek and we even saw some wild deer. The location is also a quick walk to a bus stop that we took up to Lake Chuzenji so it was very convenient. Our stay was definitely a highlight of our 3-weeks in Japan. Thank you Izumi-san for such a wonderful stay!

Izumi was a fantastic host . He me us at the station on arrival and took us to our lovely accommodation attached to his house and overlooking a stream . His breakfast was exceptional and he gave us perfect advice re where to eat , when to go to the temples and see the autumn foliage and ferries us to our restaurants and Onsen . He even tracked down for us a rucksack that had been left in a cafe and contacted the owners to say we were coming back for it . He was the perfect host and the accommodation was spacious and spotless and away from the noise and traffic of Nikko central . A perfect antidote to the bustle of Tokyo

Thanks to the host's very high level of service, even without a car you can enjoy staying in this tranquil spot overlooking the forest and stream on the edge of town. Izumi kindly offered transfers to and from the station and dropped us at the bus stop early to ensure we were on the best bus to visit Lake Chuzenji and its waterfalls when autumn colours were peaking. He also dropped us at the abyss enroute to check-in and took our luggage up to the accommodation to ensure we maximised our 1st day. The breakfasts were generous and delicious. The room was compact but very comfortable and had everything we needed, plus several lovely touches like bath salts, to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The balcony overlooking the forest is a rare treat and we saw deer hiding in the shadows.

The host was exceptional, friendly, kind and helpful. The place and room is new, spacious and very clean, there is a balcony with a beautiful view of a stream and trees. If you’re lucky you can see some deers. The breakfast the host made every morning was delicious and there is even a large bathtub with an onsen bath bomb so you can relax at the end of the day. Since I was the only one staying at his property, he was able to kindly pick me up and drop me at the train station and bus stop. Thank you Izumi San!

Nestled in a serene and secluded spot on the outskirts of Nikko, the B&B managed by Mr. Izumi offers a delightful retreat for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a personalized experience. Mr. Izumi's impeccable hospitality shines as he effortlessly caters to guests, providing not only a comfortable Japanese-style room with an en suite soaking tub but also valuable insights into the local area. The peaceful view of the backyard forest and stream from the room enhances the overall charm. The thoughtful touches, such as offering to pick up luggage and providing transportation to nearby attractions, showcase his commitment to guest satisfaction. The culinary delights served at breakfast, crafted by Mr. Izumi himself, are nothing short of masterpieces. During our stay, we generally used the public buses but on one occasion. we decided to embark on a scenic downhill trek from the B&B to the Nikko train station. Along the way, we explored the World Heritage shrines and temples, then ate dinner in town before taking a taxi back. While this approach worked well for us, it might not be suitable for everyone, especially those looking for a more centrally located accommodation.
The remote location does pose challenges for those wanting to use the B&B as a central hub for sightseeing in Nikko. It's advisable to plan your day accordingly, leaving the B&B after breakfast and returning in the evening.

This was my second time in Japan, and my second time at Izumi’s BnB. This should be enough of an endorsement. Nikko is perfect for taking a break from the chaotic Tokyo or Osaka and Izumi’s BnB is even better for that, located in nature just outside the town, next to a relaxing stream. One can even see deer from the balcony of the room, simply magical! Izumi is the perfect host, as well, and extremely helpful and gracious. Breakfast is amazing, as well, with new things to try every day. The room is fitted with all the amenities one could ever want.

It was a beautiful B&B just a little up the mountain. A very calm and nice Japanese style room with a little balcony overlooking the forest behind the B&B with a mountain stream. The owner Izumi-san offered to pick us up from the train station, and we gladly took him up on it. Izumi-san gave us a map and several tips on what to do and with what weather that would be best. Very kind and thoughtful of our interests and also offered us to bring us back to the train on the final day. You can quite easily get there and around by bus, it is a small walk from the B&B to the bus stop. Every morning Izumi-san cooked us a Japanese style breakfast, always a bit different and very tasty. From the entire vacation, me and my friend found that staying at this B&B was the best out of all the accommodations we been to during this vacation in Japan. Nikko itself we found we could do and see plenty in a few days. However, we most definitely will return here in a different season!
