This is a great location, tucked away in the redwoods but very close to restaurants, activities, and hiking. The staff were excellent and accommodating. The tent cabins feel like camping but with much more comfort and convenience. While they have indoor showers, I recommend trying the outdoor showers at least once!

While being in a tent cabin you accept that you will be able to hear the sounds of the environment, however Highlands Resort does share some neighbors with the occasional barking dogs (during the day) and some echoes from Main Street below on weekend evenings. Not to mention the sounds of your own tent cabin neighbors. Overall this did not bother us much, but may not be the accommodation for the light sleeper. Thanks to Ashley for her help and trying to make sure we had a great experience!

Such a wonderful place to spend your vacation time! We loved everything about the Highlands. The glamping tents are SO comfortable and spacious. The amenities offered with the tents were also really great. The property is beautiful and full of different nooks and places to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. This property is also an easy walk into town so you never have to drive!

This place was perfect! I have absolutely zero complaints.

The architecture and cleanliness of the Highland Resort was superb. Amazing continental breakfast, the gardens, situated within tall redwood trees, you really felt the escape into the woods. Staff was always pleasant and delivered exceptional hospitality towards all guests. Job Well Done!

Barking dog from the neighbors as I slept in a glamping tent. I know you can't control that but at certain times of day it does break away from the great experience of the property.

Super quiet in glamp tent in Camp Coyote. Great showers and nice bathrooms with easy access. Pool was super cool and relaxing. Spent 5 hours there. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a repeat visit. Nice Continental breakfast area and other quiet places to sit outdoors.

Every aspect of stay was great.

The room was very spacious and clean and had dining and living areas along with a bed. The grounds were very well kept with beautiful flowers surrounding the rooms.

I felt that breakfast could be improved. There were no pastries or choice of bread/toast which I found quite unusual.

Very well maintained, super friendly staff, clean and comfortable bedding, loved outdoor showers!

It’s right next to the residential area, houses and their decks. People were sitting outside talking late at night. Doesn’t add to the “being in the nature” feeling.

I love that the staff is friendly, LGBQT+ loving, the cabins are soo cute, the pool is heated, and the fire pit is a perfect touch during the continental breakfast.

I didn’t like that the fire pit at night gets shut off at 8 when quiet hours aren’t enforced until 10.

Absolutely no complaints ever! It’s our second time here and we love the atmosphere of Highlands Resort. The complementary breakfast is great and the rooms set a high bar for any other resort in Sonoma. The pool is beautiful , but still have not had the opportunity to go in myself….so looking forward to spending my next Sonoma trip back here again!

The city was working on the water pipes so water wasn’t available for a few hours but I can’t fault the resort; they did a great job to compensate for this minor inconvenience.

Very peaceful area. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was one of the best we've had away from home. Highly recommend!

Highlands resort is simply beautiful, and full of character and charm. The cabins are extremely well appointed and set in amongst the trees and landscaped gardens. Outdoor fire pit where you can sit and have your breakfast on a chilly morning. Lovely swimming pool too. The hosts made us feel welcome and were really helpful with local recommendations for food, drinks and nearby attractions to visit. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. I would definitely return on another trip.
