Very nice old fashion style hotel with loads of history. Like walking into the past, in early 1900’ Canada with a lovely entrance hall and original wood floors and detailing. Nice feel and comfortable beds. Good size room, central downtown location so very handy for shops, bars, banks etc. This hotel has an antique feel and really nice if you like that style.

Keypad entry with minimal staffing is fine unless the code doesn’t work on arrival, managed to get it sorted quite quickly for one of our group which it happened to by calling the help contact number. No breakfast options anymore, we knew that, but it would be nicer to have the option on site, rather than looking for a cafe in the morning.

This is a fun historical hotel with a cute lobby full of memorabilia that shows the hotel's stories, which we found extremely charming. Self check in process is pretty seamless, and is good for anyone who wants reduced interaction during covid.

There is no elevator, and the first set of stairs is quite narrow and blocked with a door on a tiny landing, so if you have a large suitcase, be careful. We were there during the summer, and they left the AC off until we entered our room so it was sweltering. It may cost money, but I think having the AC already on in a room if the hotel knows there are guests checking in would be nice, especially because it takes quite a long time to come to life. We had some struggling AC units during our trip so we cranked this one thinking it wouldn't actually get that cold. So waking up to 17 degrees was definitely a shock! That would have been avoided if the AC was already on when we got there, to take the guesswork out.

The facility was wonderful. Took me back in time. Nicely decorated according to the era when the building is from. Nice to see that it is still operating. The room was clean. The sheets and blankets were nice and clean, however the bed was uncomfortable. The staff were super nice and accommodating. I would stay again if the other hotels that have breakfast were booked, as what happened this stay.

The bed wasn't too comfortable. There was no fridge or microwave. Also, there wasn't hotel soap, hair shampoo, conditioner, cream. I like that about staying in a hotel. It was Saturday night so after 10pm or so I could hear the music from the bar downstairs. The remote didn't control the volume on the TV, so always had to get out of bed to control the volume, which is annoying. There was no breakfast. All the other hotels in the area, include breakfast. That's a big bonus, when paying similar prices for hotels in the area.

Hotel is clean and tidy. Good area coming through, day excursion to Vancouver or activities in the area. WiFi was good. Parking for free behind the house.

Nobody at the Hotel Reception. You get entry code via Email. Even the check in formalities are done via email. Never seen something like this. You feel left alone. You can call a number in case of any questions or concerns but there is no direct contact with hotel personnel. Unfotunately there was no fridge in the room and also no ice machine available.

The staff was super helpful, assisted with luggage and even cleaning staff was friendly. I have stayed here tons, the rooms are always clean, and it's close to the buses.

My only complaints are the area is not good to walk around at night. Lots of homeless and drugs. And unfortunately the room we stayed in, the bed was broken and leaned to the side. Also there is a lot of light. So hard to sleep if you need it dark. I will always stay at this hotel.

Historic hotel - enjoyed very much retaining the old flavour and antique and vintage furnishings throughout. Very pleasant breakfast area.

Sorry to say anything negative but stairs were a bit difficult- no elevator- but comes with the age and conservation of old hotel. Many thanks for staff assistance!

Beautiful heritage building lovingly maintained. Our room was spacious and well appointed. There was a separate toilet and sink because the clawfoot tub was right in the room!! We had trouble locating the hotel, Google maps had us going in circles. But the night manager actually walked to the corner of the block, waved us down and escorted us to the hotel. Above and beyond!!

The only issue with this beautiful hotel was the pillows, flat and very small.

Loved the historical aspect - 10yo said she loved sleeping in a museum. Very authentic. Rooms were spacious. Beds comfy. Bathroom was very clean. Appreciated the forward thinking technology of self-check-in keypads, codes, QR code hotel amenities, etc.

A little nervous about the location as we had heard there were a lot of breakins, but we did not have a problem (and we had 3 vehicles there). Also, saw a lot of drug use on the streets around the area.

The room was comfortable and it provided everything we needed. It was warm and cozy. The room is large and I liked the separation of the rooms.

The check-in procedure was bungled and I checked in very tired with too your children. We had not received the proper information but did not realize that. As there is no check in person I had to stop, with all out stuff, and contact someone by phone. This has happened before when the reservation was made same day. The drinking glasses were hiding behind a door and we didn’t find them right away, maybe leave them on the table.

Reasonable rates, lots of parking, good location

The no check in staff is odd! My door code did not work and ended up calling the help number at 2am. They remotely fixed it so I could get in, but time consuming in the middle of the night after a 12 hour travel day.
