Great location - few minutes walk from all the shops/cafes in Thamel area. 20 minutes walk from Durbar Square. We didn't hear any noise from other rooms. Characterful hotel, not like modern hotels which all look the same. Cool rooftop terrace with great views. Spacious room with plenty of storage. Excellent wifi. Helpful, friendly staff.
Loud construction noise from the building next door on the first day. The quality/cost of the hotel food was not as good as dining outside in other places. Little variety for breakfast. Faulty key card so the room's electricity kept turning off after a few minutes - took 2 days to get a replacement key card. Window wouldn't close properly so it let external noise into the room (e.g. barking dogs, roosters). Soft mattress. Thin bathroom towels. Large cockroach in the room next to the bed on second morning - didn't enjoy squashing it and removing it.

Highlights of the Stay - Owner, Dolakh Thapa and family run this place well. It is a new property is in pretty good shape - The staff are friendly and helpful - Breakfast is adequate with decent spread even for vegetarians - Location is walking distance from Thamel (10 Mins), Asan Bazaar (10 Mins) and Durbar Square (15 Mins) - Mr Dolakh also helps arrange local sightseeing and excursions outside of Kathmandu - Rooms are fair sized (Not very large), Balcony is a small sit out and not a full balcony, House keeping is efficient - Kitchen is not 24 hours (expected in a boutique hotel) and food is pretty good - There were a few minor hiccups (again expected in a family run boutique hotel) but they were addressed quickly to satisfaction
- Nothing that stood out as a bad experience

Property is centrally located in Thamel. It is in the centre of the all shopping and dining places , yet once you are in the hotel , the outside noise just dies down. It’s closer to all the tourist attractions - Pashupathinath , Swayambu , Stupas etc. The rooms and toilet are cleaned everyday . Also have laundry service. The open terrace dining is my favourite part of the stay . I also tried their spa service and will recommend it who wishes to give it a try . The lady providing the service was very respectful and knowledgeable. Due to my dietary restrictions , kitchen accommodated my requests without any additional notice . I would love to stay in the hotel again.
Nothing at all

We stayed 11 nights in a Heritage Superior Deluxe room. Nice building, very clean. Pleasant, temple like architecture. Comfortable, very clean large room. Large comfortable bed. Bathroom and shower very good. Our balcony with view of city and Swayambhunath stupa. Great rooftop with great view, bar and even a Hollywood swing. Good breakfast and restaurant that prepares almost everything you wish. Walking distance to shops and city-restaurants. Free pickup from Airport. Perfect WiFi. Entire staff very friendly and very helpful. Manager always there and knows and organises everything - great person ! We felt very much at home and will defenitely go back to this Hotel next year. Can't wait ! Thank you all so much.
Nothing.

My recent stay at the Everest Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu was an exceptional experience, combining comfort, charm, and outstanding hospitality. Located in the heart of Thamel, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking convenience without compromising tranquility. From the moment I arrived, the staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and warmth. The check-in process was smooth, and the team went out of their way to ensure all my needs were met. Their local knowledge and willingness to assist with travel plans made my stay even more enjoyable. The rooms are tastefully decorated, reflecting a blend of traditional Nepalese aesthetics and modern amenities. My room was immaculately clean, spacious, and equipped with comfortable bedding, a well-appointed bathroom, and all the conveniences one would expect in a high-quality boutique hotel. The attention to detail, such as fresh flowers and locally sourced toiletries, added a personalized touch. One of the highlights of my stay was the rooftop terrace, which offers stunning views of the Kathmandu valley and the surrounding mountains. It was the perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee or enjoy a meal while soaking in the beauty of the area. The on-site restaurant deserves special mention for its diverse menu, which includes both local and international dishes. The flavors were authentic, and the food was prepared with obvious care. Breakfast, included in the stay, was a delicious spread featuring fresh fruit, baked goods, and traditional Nepalese options. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability is also commendable. Efforts to reduce waste and support the local community were evident and aligned with the spirit of responsible travel. Overall, Everest Boutique Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're visiting Kathmandu for adventure, relaxation, or cultural exploration, this hotel offers an excellent base.
Street noise was a problem on a couple of nights.

This property far exceeded expectations. The photos online didn't do it justice. It's quite new and tucked away just steps away from the liveliness of Kathmandu. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful - but did appear to be stretched thin. We didn't have any issues and made sure we exercised patience with any requests which were always expertly met. The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, but unfortunately lacked a view. I wish we would've realized this upon check-in. Breakfast was wonderful and offered a nice selection of items. The server was also quick to offer eggs made to order, coffee, lattes or cappuccino. I selected a cappuccino which was expertly made. We enjoyed lunch on the rooftop patio which was incredible and offered stunning views of Kathmandu both during the day and at night. The hotel manager assisted us in securing a driver for a few excursions. The driver was very professional, friendly and patient with our requests. The rate was also incredibly reasonable and we were so thankful for the exceptional service that we made sure to tip generously.
The mini-fridge in our room wasn't working, had mildew and a bad odor. The bathroom didn't have full containers of shampoo, soap, etc. and so we had to request for them to be replenished right away.

We read lots of good reviews about this hotel and they were all right. There seems to be a lot of nice hotels in Kathmandu but for us it was very important to get a western-style shower, so that the bathroom doesn't get wet, and we also wanted it to be very close to Tamel, but not right in the middle of it. Everest not only offered us that, but much more. It has a lovely atmosphere, the staff is the best, breakfast is great (with barista a la carte), beds are really comfy, rooms are warm and cozy, the shower has hot water at any time with good pressure, quick laundry service, everything is clean and there's a small roof top bar with a nice view of the city. Cherry on top: easy going manager who provides a very good travel service. We had a perfect stay and would come back anytime!
Nothing, everything was good!

We booked the Heritage Deluxe room and had a wonderful stay! The hotel is in a great location—very close to Thamel and plenty of souvenir shops, but surprisingly quiet at night, which we really appreciated. There are also several nice restaurants within walking distance. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the room itself was beautiful—clean, clearly well-maintained, and with the most comfortable beds ever! There’s also a rooftop area with a lovely view, perfect for relaxing. One great bonus was the free airport pick-up. However, the man who met us at the airport doors (not the driver) was quite rude. He insisted on a tip and, after we gave him something, said “that’s not enough, too little,” and asked for more, which made us uncomfortable. This was the only negative part of our stay—everyone else at the hotel was kind and professional.

The building is very beautiful, rooms are a good size, modern amenities. There is free breakfast everyday which we really appreciated. You can also have meals on the 6th floor with a great view. The 7th floor is really nice with a swing chair that overlooks the city, very beautiful. Service is also good and friendly. The location is also very good, not right smacked in the middle of Thamel, which can be very noisy and hectic, but just a 3 minute walk from the center, we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Just round the corner, there is a convenience shop, a pharmacy, a cafe, and a really good Tibetan restaurant. They also have a trekking company at the hotel where you can book day trips, multi day treks and heli rides just at the front desk!
There was not much we didn't like! Everything was very good and up to our expectations!

We loved our stay at Everest Boutique Hotel. It was our favourite accommodation in Nepal and we wish we’d had longer there. Fantastic team, great location - feels away from the hustle and bustle but so close to walk, beautiful food and room service available, restaurant with a stunning view, buffet breakfast with porridge or eggs to order, hot water, good wifi, small functional gym, comfortable beds and bedding. Great airport pick up service included in some of the deluxe room options too. Thank you for having us, we can’t recommend you highly enough!
It was all great
