It was everything we wanted a resort getaway in Fiji to feel like. Island vibes without needing to travel far with young kids.

We enjoyed the resort and amenities. However the staff at reception were quite unhelpful and we always got conflicting advice when enquiring about late checkouts, payments, getting rooms cleaned etc Information about kids clubs or other activities weren’t promoted or easy to access. We were shangri la circle members and use of that wasn’t promoted either. However the staff around the grounds and cleaners were amazing. What I found odd at a resort at this level is that my Birthday was not acknowledged in anyway upon check in. It didn’t bother me, but for a 5 star resort I feel the level of excellence wasn’t there. Despite the frustrating aspects we were able to focus on the good parts and have an amazing stay. It is a beautiful location!

The Ocean Wing Room on the top floor next to the Reef Wing was great. The Duty Manager Aporosa turned our dreams into reality. Breakfasts at the Lagoon Terrace were lovely. Inflatable Water Park and Guided Kayaking were enjoyable. Many activities can be booked in advance.

The Chi Spa had great facilities, but the facial was not the best there. The quinoa salad was the buckwheat salad and the roti bread was like the Russian blintz. Not enough towels to change them on request. “Privacy please” sign was not available in spite of our multiple requests.

The awesome staff was the highlight of our stay….Napoleon, Duncan, Joshua, Amasa, Bau, Epi, Taniela, James, Biu and all the other amazing hotel staff were so welcoming and pleasant and ever ready to help us out….Besides that, we loved the swimming pools, the water sports facilities and the fantastic location…

The room and ensuite facilities were very much below par considering the five star prices being charged…no hand shower was available , there were no exhaust fans in the shower and toilet areas just a small vent. Also the air conditioning was much below par as we could not lower it below 21 degrees….and there were no fans in the room and it was very warm to sleep comfortably at night time.

The staff are so fabulous and warm and welcoming , always greeting us with Bula. The restaurants offer massive varieties of food , the buffet restaurant has different themes almost every day and very devine food and there are three restaurants to choose from. The housekeeping staff are super friendly. Anything we need, they bring over quickly . The hotels facilities are 5 star , with golf , spa , mini golf , tennis ,waterpark and different water activities to entertain the kids. The water is crystal clear near the Asian restaurant for snorkelling. Very few mosquitoes as the hotels spray each day

We paid $1000 nzd a night and three of us squeezed in one bed . The sofa bed is not really comfortable for a child very low on the floor. The lagoon view room only has one bed option in the room. The room is very dated . Not up to 5 star standard . The swimming pool never has chairs available. Most people arrive first thing in the morning and leave their belongings on the chair all day despite the sign saying not to. We arrived there one day before swimming pools were open, no chairs and no people there but all chairs were occupied with bags.

The pristine location, reef and lagoon out the front, snorkelling, free kayaks and SUPs, jumping water inflatable and loved the sports activities for the kids run by Marley and the crew. Very warm arrival welcome greeting, staff were always attentive and friendly, especially the pool staff. Marley, Ilijah at the pool and the big friendly waiter from the Beach Bar and Grill in the evenings were a stand out for us!

The inclusive drinks package spirits tasted cheap home brew and cocktail menu was limited and not consistent. However there was a big difference in quality compared to the paid cocktails that were not included in the package. Our room was a little dated had a musty smell on arrival, we left balcony open to try to air it out. The resort was fairly spread out and our room was a fair distance from the lagoon pool, more shuttle buggies going regually would be a great option to have.

We stayed in the Adults Only Reef Wing and were so glad they had this space. All of the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful, some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. The resort was beautiful and the reef and coast nearby were stunning. Free breakfast was great, and all restaurants were able to accommodate my friend who is vegan.

There were just a few small things that could have been fixed that would make this a 5 star experience. The wing we stayed in was a little dated, the fly on our balcony screen was completely broken and came off the runner, as was the internal window between the bathroom and room. The towels provided for the pool often had stains and the buffet restaurant option was insanely expensive.

The staff indeed the whole FIJIAN community COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL, AND WE, AS A FAMILY, PARTICULARLY APPRECIATED THE WAY IN WHICH THE CHILDREN WERE CARED FOR, AND THE GAMES PROVIDED WITH SO MUCH PARTICIPATION OF THE LOCAL enthusiastic Fijian hotel staff. We liked the variety and access to the many different hotel restaurants and the kids being entertained to allow adults to eat at leisure.

The only thing that I can think of that we thought needed review was that there was a drinks package, which one was able to pay for in advance and the idea was good. However, the standard of Wine was poor though some of the soft drinks were excellent cocktails, and beers

The resort itself is stunning — set on a private island with breathtaking views, pristine beaches, and beautifully maintained gardens. Our room was spacious, clean, and offered a spectacular ocean view that made waking up each morning a true delight. The food and dining options were equally impressive. Each restaurant offered a delicious variety of dishes, with fresh ingredients and flavours that catered to every palate. The breakfast buffet was a personal favourite — the perfect way to start the day. Thank you to the entire Shangri-La team for creating such a memorable holiday. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a slice of paradise in Fiji!

The facilities were very clean even though we had an issue with our initial room we were moved immediately and this was well managed by the staff without issue. There are a broad list of activities that you can do while on the island so your days are always filled with fun and excitement for all especially those with kids. The staff were tremendous to deal with in particular Save, Talatoka and Ann just to name a few.

The only negative was the braiding section which even though they were not busy they did not take walk up appointments for small jobs which I thought was unusual considering everyone else did everything possible to accommodate guests.

we liked the atmosphere, like a village, with covered walk ways in between accommodation wings and restaurants. Our quiet room looked out onto lawn then the ocean, lovely sunsets. Loved the large frogs at night on the lawn. The staff were so happy, kind and polite. Our grandchild, 9mths was beautifully cared for in the evenings, he loved her!! The Fijians are fabulous with children! Enough restaurants to choose from, our favourite being Takali,Asian cuisine. Plenty to do, great for families. Snorkelling not the best, coral not healthy, but a nice selection of pretty fish. Watch out for sea snakes. Massages by the Lagoon magnificent ! Lagoon and beach lovely.Tour on the Sigatoka river, visiting village and the welcome/dance and singing, lunch in a village home and driving to and around the Salad bowl, is a MUST. The Fire show/meal and dancing was wonderful. The cocktail/ happy hours are very good. A lovely happy relaxing resort.

The tiles in the bathrooms and on the top of the swimming pools walls need bit of attention, overall some maintenance around the whole resort. However, this didn't takeaway the charm of the architecture of the buildings. Very authentic. Some of the meals were little average, and the alcohol was somewhat expensive . At breakfast in the kids free restaurant, needed to be kept up with the customers. Glasses but no champagne .
