This hotel stands head and shoulders above the competition in Bodhgaya for comfort, atmosphere, design and service. If you are wondering how the top rated hotels compare here is a brief summary.. The Hyatt Hotel is a little out of the centre and does not have lawns or a pool. There are significant service issues and a real problem with pigeons making the hotel environs unhygienic. The rooms are a high standard of comfort but for some reason don't have a table in front of the sofa for resting your coffee on. Inexplicably they don't offer room service for food which is a major deficiency in service standards. The Anand International Hotel has very helpful staff and good food at reasonable prices. It is also situated quite centrally. This is a at best a 3 star hotel with basic facilities.. and nothing wrong with that. Just don't expect luxury accommodation. Unfortunately the small swimming pool is poorly maintained and is dirty. And now we come to this hotel. Be aware it is a few km away from the centre of Bodhgaya. The village in which it is situated in is extremely poor and the contrast with the gated luxury of the hotel and the surroundings is striking. However the hotel are aware of this and apart from offering jobs to locals from the village they are trying to secure land in order to build a school for the village children many of whom are in abject poverty. As with all the hotels in Bihar you need to be aware that it's a dry state and that you will be required by the hotel to sign an undertaking that you will not consume any alcohol whilst resident. Consuming alcohol is a crime in Bihar. As for the standards within the hotel there is only one word for it. Excellent. The surroundings are really beautiful gardens ,flowers, and water features all maintained to a very high standard.
Everything was fine

We had an amazing stay in Bodh Gaya! The hotel was exceptionally clean, and we truly appreciated the high standards of hygiene throughout our visit. The service was top-notch, and the overall vibe of the place made our stay even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to Sovam, Lakshmi, Jayesh, Pankaj, and Tinku—their hospitality and dedication were outstanding! They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and their warm and welcoming attitude made a big difference. The only small feedback would be that the reception team could be a little more friendly during check-out to leave guests with an even better final impression. However, this is just a minor suggestion because, overall, this is truly the best place to stay in Bodh Gaya! We traveled all the way from Germany and will definitely be visiting again! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-maintained stay

So far, this has been the best hotel in our challenging six-week journey across India. It was created by talented and exceptional professionals, and it could be a gem in any country. But it’s especially wonderful to see it here, in the breathtaking beauty of India. I truly wish for more hotels like this in India—because India deserves the very best.
An employee of a huge, completely empty restaurant, where we were the only guests, informed us that we could only sit at a table for two—because that’s the rule. We had to object and point out that such an approach was unnecessary.

Marasa Sarovar was an oasis of tranquility. Set in the midst of farms but only 15 mins ride from the Mahabodhi temple, it is close enough for visiting Bodh Gaya frequently, but far away from the noise and pollution of the town of Gaya. The spa was good and clean (given that this is a small city, it’s a wonder there’s a spa at all) and pool looked great (I didn’t swim). The restaurant manager, Sunil, went above and beyond and provided us local cuisine (off-menu) as we requested it. I loved their reading room and loved the simple yet elegant aesthetic. Would recommend highly to visitors to Bodh Gaya.
Some of the upholstery in the lobby and in the rooms were showing some sign of wear and tear.

Well, there are not a lot of choices in Gaya/Bodhgaya for premier hotels. This one looked nice and cosy and although it's a bit far from the city centre - it was easily accessible by car/tuktuk. The hotel is quite big and has a very resort like feeling. It's decorated beautifully - with flowers, and books, and large lamps. There is a swimming pool and sunbeds. It's quiet and serene. The breakfast spread was great. The lunch was expensive. But tasty.
The approach road is through a slum and my heart sank when I arrived. For a moment I thought if I had made a mistake by choosing this hotel. If you don't have a car at your disposal, you are pretty much stuck inside the hotel. Since I was there for a day, I did not mind. But if I were to stay longer, I would choose a different hotel.

This is truly an exceptional hotel. From the stunning, elegant, minimalistic architecture to the luxurious, spacious brand new rooms, this is the perfect choice for a memorable stay. Coming here feels like venturing into a hidden oasis of beauty, peace and serenity. Having stayed here for 3 months in total this year (and 4 months last year) I can highly recommend this hotel for a long and peaceful retreat. During my stay I have seen how the staff of this hotel functions like a harmonious family. When I see a working environment such as this it is certainly due to good management. It creates a harmonious and friendly atmosphere which beautifully compliments the peacefully simplistic yet luxurious decor and architecture. In particular I want to thank Shantanu Ranjan Pal, the general manager of this hotel. He made sure my stay was perfect and if ever I had any issues he resolved them immediately, without delay. He is certainly a most excellent manager. Other managers Amit and also front desk manager Nitish were also very helpful, kind and polite. On reception Jyoti, Mainak, Shabaz, Ishani and notably Shilu were excellent. In the restaurant a special mention to Sovan, Lakshmi and Jaymesh who always made sure my breakfast requests were already prepared for me even before I entered the restaurant, and placed on my table of choice. It is rare to find such thoughtful and kind restaurant staff. Also Rahul and Nitish at the restaurant deserve a mention as well as the chef for their excellent service. Rahul at the gift shop is a kind and good person and Preeti and Primela are very good housekeepers. All the new housekeepers are also excellent. All do a complete job of cleaning the rooms. There are many staff whose names I did not know or have forgotten to mention who also assisted me with excellent customer service. Thank you to all. On my final day a delicious chocolate cake with ‘thank you’ written on it and candles all around the table was prepared for me.

Came here just for a massage to the spa, but liked the property very much so later I booked 2nights, which I extended to be 5night in the end. Overall I love the hotel, its very peacefull, nice for reset, resting and home office. Also the spa is very good, I had a masage with Meeta (hope I spell the name well) which was amazing! Also rest of the hotel stuff was very professional and nice. Also breakfast was very nice, with different indian dishes and fresh dosas. The hotel is not walking distance to the Mahabodhi temple but if one needs jut to go down to Bodhgaya center Tuktuks for about 200rs one way are always easy to find (not taxis though). It takes about 15min.

We loved our stay here - a treat on a long travelling trip. The facility is stunning, the room was very spacious and clean. The buffet for breakfast and dinner had really good variety. The staff all went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed.
The WiFi signal was poor. Whilst the buffet was good, it wasn’t very hot so would recommend improving ways to keep it warm - particularly at dinner when it’s not as busy.

A continuation of my previous review: On my final day a delicious chocolate cake with ‘thank you’ written on it and candles all around the table was prepared for me. Such a wonderful and thoughtful parting gift from the hotel. Finally, as a female solo traveler I am grateful for the respectful and polite staff who made it easy for me to keep to myself and peacefully enjoy my solitary, quiet retreat. I very much look forward to my next long stay at your beautiful hotel, in my favourite room, next year. Thank you to all. I am very grateful.

Very Big property, hence very calm. 3 kms away from Mahabodhi temple. Easy to walk from Hotel to Temple. Takes 40 mins. This property is inside a village, so little surprise while crossing a entrance of village and reach here. Check-in process was very good. I was 1.5 hours early, and they checked me in right away without any comments. Room size is considerably bigger . I love the high ceiling rooms. Garden view glass window, and a small glass window is a plus. Bathroom is good. Water tub, shower. Shower gels etc., all good. Few additional pluses for 1. Providing re-fillable water bottle to avoid plastics. 2. High roof ceilings. 3. Buddhism based property design. There is a good restaurant inside the property. Restaurant menu includes multi cuisine. Dishes are well made. Swimming pool is very spacious, calm and plenty of space around it.
First entry to the hotel crossing the village. But, later few times it doesnt matter. They can consider maintaining Swimming pool water temperature according to outer weather.
