I really liked the excellent breakfast—great variety and quality. The outdoor space was also a highlight, especially the pool area, which was clean and relaxing. Having a convenient parking lot on-site made everything even easier. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The rooms don’t have great soundproofing, which is understandable given that the hotel is in an older building. Also, if you leave with your car and return late at night (after midnight), you’re asked to park outside the main lot to avoid disturbing guests, since the rooms are located right next to the parking area. That said, there’s plenty of exterior parking available, so it wasn’t a big issue.

We had such a wonderful family stay at Hotel Alegre! The hotel has a charming, traditional atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. Our rooms were spotless and comfortable. The staff were incredibly welcoming, always ready with a smile and helpful advice about the local area. We especially loved the beautiful location in Luso — so peaceful, with lovely views and easy access to the thermal baths and nearby attractions. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning, a perfect start to our days.

Breakfast was great, very complete and tasty. All the staff were extremely nice. The owner of the hotel explainned us the history behind the hotel which was amazing. It is a Kids friendly hotel, with an amazing pool and garden with a gazeboo. In this hotel you can breath history, is very beautiful and well-conserved and is a gem in the Bussaco.

Located in a large old house just outside the town centre, it is almost a museum with numerous display cabinets containing a fascinating collection of old clocks and other mechanical and musical artifacts, a hobby of the owner. We had a clean comfortable room (complete with its own old tapestry) with large terrace giving an excellent view of the town and countryside. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Good buffet style breakfast.

Car park is a little limited and cramped with tricky access on to the main road but there is adequate free on street parking nearby.

the old style decor resembles a traditional english BnB and the breakfast was great. The swimming pool and garden at the end of the day completed the experience.

the hotel could invest in some comfort items like pillows, swimming pool towels and a/c in the rooms, but all the basics for a great experience are there

Lovely hotel with history. Great breakfast provided by a very friendly lady. A plus also was the pool and the location. We felt very welcome and we higly recommend it! Also the recommendation for Pedro Leitoes in Mealhada for those who are not not vegetarian, was a fantastic experience.

The towels were extremely thin. And in summer the missing air condition might be a problem. For us, in early June, no problem at all!

If you would like to step back into La Belle Epoque, then look no further. This wonderful accommodation, rich in ambience and steeped in 19th century charm will satisfy. The building itself is magnificent and the room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We appreciated the complimentary Luso water and fell in love with the view from our balcony. The staff were friendly, professional and did everything to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We stayed for one night only and I wish we could have stayed longer! I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you appreciate antiques and history.

The hotel is quite historic but very clean and simple. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The location is excellent in city centre of Luso village. There's a nice swimming pool as well to be used on sunny days.

The Hotel has no lift so that's a detail to think about if you have mobility restrictions. The internet even with several WiFi ID the signal was quite weak. In the room with a couple only a bottle of water was provided instead of 2x. In general was really good and recommended but some details could be improved.

Lovely family running the hotel. Spacious room. Very nice that the (charming) pool was open ahead of published schedule. Good breakfast every day. Like an antique shop (which we loved) with over seventy clocks in total! Bathroom facilities entirely new, though and everything spotlessly clean.

No operating bar in the hotel though one will be open in high season. No full curtains to keep out light which made for early wakes ups. No real complaints- it was a lovely stay .

Really loved our stay. Staff is really friendly. The bedroom was pretty big for the 3 of us. As for the hotel itself, it feels you are staying inside a museum, everywhere you look theres something that alludes to the history of the hotel which made it really charming. Was also really nice to lounge at the pool. Good breakfast too. Would def stay again
