The bedroom was very well presented, the breakfast and dinner were amazing. The buffet is exquisite . The staff is very professional and friendly

Strange, there was no cable tv at all. We only had the 4 tv generic Portuguese channels, one italian and one spanish! This is a 4 star hotel The indoor pool was in maintenance. The outdoor pool is absolutely incredible. I do remember swimming in it as a child 40 years ago. There have been no improvements since then. You cannot see the markings on the bottom of the pool, the diving boards have been removed, the water quality its strange, there is always leaves floating or on the bottom or on the surface, there seems to be algae due to the greenish water colour. The pool needs restoration. Nevertheless, it is a delight to.swim in this pool with 33x18 meters from the 1920's

It is a unique building filled with amazing furniture pieces. Worth staying at just for that reason. A sort of luxury country hotel with horses roaming in the fields and goats in the gardens😊

Curia Palace Hotel is a 100 Years old hotel famous for Curia Spa and Waters. Here you will find a bucolic and romantic place to stay with the possibility to time travel to 1940. Don't expect to find modern amenities or fancy modern decoration. You will have the possibilty to see what was life when people had the time to enjoy leisure and fun, without technology. It sure will be something to remember on your trips.

There is no Wi-Fi on public areas and the WC's were cold due to not having heating.

The breakfast was great.

The outdoor pool was closed, so we used the indoor pool. We didn't know they charged us each time we went to the pool. We had 3 children with us. There weren't any other activities in the area. We would have picked a different hotel with an indoor pool for the kids. My wife wanted to have some massages and use a spa.

The overall peaceful and restful atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for. The building itself is a smooth trip through time. The pool is large and comfortable to use, even when the pool area is crowded. The staff are extremely accommodating and were attentive to details, trying to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

There was a slight hiccup with the room at booking: we were proposed a twin rather than double, which we did not take. The alternative double room we were given seemed nothing like the photos (smaller and older) and of inferior grade (e.g. no safe-box or mini fridge). It was fine with us but if our guess is true, then it should have been reflected in the price.

Wonderful "Belle Epoque style" Hotel, well conserved (interiors) with all charming one could wait for. Splendid dinning and resting rooms and every corner is a detail and deserves specific attention. The lobby is a must and the old elevator it's a "pearl" (not working anymore). Very nice Breakfast, very friendly staff, good and comfortable (even if small) room

It's urgent to recover the exterior areas. They are wonderful with the romantic gardens but the outside pool is in a disastrous stage. Should be recovered and refurbished. The SPA had a Breakdown. It was communicated in advance from staff, previously, with possibility to give up booking and refund. Was there Wi-Fi available?? Looked for Network and didn't find but...didn’t ask either. If is not available...it's inadmissible

I did not use pool and spa this time. The pool is outside and looks pretty good. There is also a tennis court. The hotel belongs to the "noveaux art" category of hotels. This hotel started business in 1927 by the hand and mind of a visionary man named Alexandre Almeida, who can be considered a pioneer in this business in Portugal. The breakfast is very good as well... the environment and the music in background filled in my soul. It was a very special for me and my wife. The village is very peaceful and is located in the region called Bairrada. The food is supreme in this region. e can also walking, running, and cycling around there. This hotel remains in the Almeida family, who has other emblematic hotels in the country, including the one in Bussaco, another charming place in the Bairrada region.

With many pros, I find rather difficult to mention any cons. We will come back for sure.

A very beautiful building, with an aura of long time ago. A Palace with history in it. A grand place. Very nice and helpful staff.

Mainly the fact that the external swimming pool and the Spa weren't working. I was warned in advance but still, that was the main reason for choosing that particular hotel in the first place, so disappointing... And the fact that the whole place needs repairs, especially the gardens and outside facilities. It's a pity to see.

This is a charm hotel, with almost 100y, a time capsule designed to make us travel, rest and break all the stress. I think going on less busy days increase the rest, since can be busy at weekends.

Any old hotel has some maintenance challeges. The outside space is not fully mantained, with a lot of opportunities to improve (football fiel is not ready, no street gym instalations)

My husband and I loved the charm of this hotel.It is a rare privilege to stay in a hotel which had kept so many of it's original features.The style and elegance of the building,the dining rooms, hallways and lobbies were breath taking.It had a lovely slow gentle pace of a forgotten era and exuded history. We appreciated how incredibly hard it must be to keep on top maintenance of such a huge hotel but our one regret was that the pool and pool area which are incredible (and in the UK would have been preserved and celebrated as a lido) were neglected.It would be sad to see something so special crumble and diappear.

Nothing really although it would be lovely to see the pool and poolside preserved as they are so special
