The location is lovely. The room and beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good

We attended for the ABBA tribute night. We had a drinks voucher from a previous visit a couple of months earlier which we were advised at the time of wining the vouchers would be ok to use for the tribute night. We were advised on the night that as the management of the pub had changed in the mean time this would now not be honoured. The night was advertised as being an event from 7pm until 12 midnight. In fact the band played from 9.15 for 45 minutes and then took a 20 minute break and then played again until 11.15pm. This was when the evening finished. We were disappointed there was no disco in between, which is what has been the case for all other such events we have attended at other venues. In all, quite a disappointing evening, given the money we paid.

The choice for breakfast was excellent, the taste yummy, portions generous and staff so friendly- a real treat! We had one evening meal - superb- well worth taking the ‘prix fixe’ menu, excellent value and very high standard of food, presentaion and service too. The friendly staff - reception, restaurant and even cleaners - all amazingly friendly. The location is ideal to switch off from the world for a while.

Nothing! If i must find fault, some of the decor was a bit faded- eg behind the curtains there was a poor corner needing plaster and paint, one public toilet had it’s wall veneer torn away…. But these small cosmetic faults in no way detracted from the overall very high standards of the important facilities.

Great location for walking & nearby Holmfirth. Staff were, in general, polite & friendly. Our room was clean & comfortable. All the meals we had, breakfasts & dinners were very tasty & plentiful. Overall a really enjoyable stay.

The waitress who served us on Sunday evening appeared disinterested, as though she would rather be somewhere else and it was a chore to serve us. All other staff were great. The room could do with a little decoration. There must have been a headboard attached to the wall at some point as the wall was marked. The fan didn’t seem to work in the bathroom and, for us, a shower screen is always preferable to a shower curtain.

We just spent two wonderful nights at The Huntsman Inn and loved every minute! The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and the staff were so friendly. On top of that, the views from the location were gorgeous. We left feeling completely refreshed and can't wait to go back!

Our only minor issue was on the first night. We were notified by reception that an event was happening downstairs, and although we could hear it from our room, we were fortunate to have some earplugs with us. It was a minor inconvenience, but thankfully, it didn't detract from our overall enjoyment.

Hotel was clean, bedroom was spacious and had a nice tea / coffee tray with bottles of water provided, we used the restaurant for breakfast which was tasty and very friendly staff, Staff were all very friendly and welcoming, 5 min taxi down in to Holmefirth itself - too long and steep to walk! busy road with no pavement for much of it.

The room was lacking in bedside table lamps meaning it was main lights on or nothing at all The shower in the bathroom was lacking in power and consistency of temperature which was a little disappointing,

the staff were amazing, 1 young lady whose father used to run the Inn and who's mother works there spent quite a lot of time with us while checking other customers and checking the bar, so profesional and so nice as we're all the staff, felt T home the moment we walked in , had lunch which was amazing, and the breakfast was to die for a real homely gem, will deffinatly come back

so..the room was spacious, very cumfy and clean, the paint was flaking of on the bathroom ceiling, there was a panel missing off the side of the single bed which left a 10" hole in the side of it., also the TV was very small, and didn't work ,the gentleman behind the bar kindly came up and got it working but 2 mins later it had gone off again, I didn't like to ask again as he was very busy....all that said we wouldn't hesitate in booking again if we can thankyou

Location was perfect, just outside Holmfirth. Warm and welcoming traditional hunting lodge style with vaulted ceilings, made even more special by the traditional Christmas decor. The room was surprisingly spacious and spotlessly clean, with tea & coffee making facilities and good quality fresh white towels and complimentary toiletries in the en suite.

The only negative was getting into the building when the bar and restaurant was closed. The residents entrance was via a coded door with no proper handle at the top of a set of dimly lit exposed, stone steps to the rear of the building. The weather was wet and windy when we stayed and it was difficult to enter the code. The security handle on the combination lock was very small and difficult to operate when wet so had to enter the code a few times before I managed to open the door.

The room had no heating on when we arrived and was cold and took time to warm up having thick Yorkshire stone walls. Would have been better to have it put on before our arrival given we had said a time The bathroom had severe problems with mould in the grouting and sealant, probably lack of ventilation. A dose of mould inhibitor like ciliit bang or kilrock or plain bleach before we got there would have made the shower area more attractive

The staff were very friendly , more like a family run place. very personal and not false. this place (Rooms and Pub) has had a fortune spent on it. The meals were good quality and good size portions. We stayed a Sunday night and got a deal therefore it was a bargain. I have recommended it to my friend and her partner who are very particular about high standards.

For me nothing. but maybe a play area for children. (i dont think it has one???)

5 ladies shared the family room. This room is split into 2, with a double bed with ensuite in one side and 3 single beds in the other. Both areas had their own tea and coffee making facilities, plus water and biscuits. The beds were lovely and comfortable. The locations is very quiet but only a few minutes drive from Holmfirth. The food we had at dinner and breakfast was great. The price was great. All in all a great overnight stay.

Everything was spot on.
