We were absolutely delighted with our stay! My daughter and I had a wonderful experience in every way. The staff were always extremely kind and helpful, both at the reception and in the pub where we had breakfast and dinner. The food was also a lovely surprise—delicious and exactly to our taste. The place is beautiful, welcoming, and conveniently located near a bus stop, which made getting around very easy. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped—we didn’t miss a thing. The bathroom was spotless, and every day we returned to find the room just as perfect as on the first day. We’re truly satisfied and have no doubt: next time we visit Manchester, we’ll definitely come back to this special place!

Honestly, I didn’t find any faults. Everything met, or even exceeded, our expectations!

The accomodation was clean and adeqaute for our stay. The staff were very friendly & breakfast was very good with lots of selection. Overall great value for money.

We had booked for a theatre stay. We were looking forward to a drink back at the hotel in the pub afterwards. Due to my disability its not easy to get around manchester so back at the hotel seemed a good option. We arrived back at 10.30 but due to there being entertainment on in the pub we were not allowed entry without paying £10 each to get in. I would suggest that as a paying guest it would be an idea to allocate a small area for guests. Disappointed as it was my hubby's Birthday & had to return to our room.

Almost everything. It was perfect for a "flying visit" overnight stay, to meet up with friends in the region. I found every single thing I needed and it was comfy, casual, and quiet. Breakfast was included and I thoroughly enjoyed mine, the next day. If you would like a casual, relaxing stay - with a pub which includes a breakfast restaurant area, next door - and the tranquillity of a riverside setting; I would say, without hesitation, try The Boat & Horses.

Only one small thing might be improved; a strange aroma in the corridor to the rooms. I have no idea except that maybe late-nighters might have spilt beer on the carpet. I'm sure that management or staff would have a better idea about that than me. It wouldn't put me off, though.

The location is very good for us visiting our family in the area. It was a comfortable bed, with a nice quilt.

In the past when we booked directly through the accommodation website the rooms have been exceptional. To allow us to visit family as often as we can, we started to book via booking.com to save a bit of cash. However we have noticed that the rooms we have been given when going via booking.com have not been as nice as via their own website, for example the room we were given on this visit had a very marked carpet, marks on the wall and the radiator was a bit hit and miss for working. Is this a usual occurrence?

The rooms are in a completely separate building to the pub, which I wasn't expecting. This meant that noise levels were pretty low, and it was much more like staying in a for-real hotel than staying in a pub. Unexpectedly good. Also, the breakfast was buffet-style, and was all fresh, with runny egg yolks, and wins the award for the first breakfast buffet I've had with unlimited fried bread included. Ridiculous.

I'm not sure I can really fault the hotel stay, breakfast, or the pub itself considering the price. My only negatives stem from the area itself - I did take a walk to a nearby supermarket and it was all a bit decrepid, there was a heavy homeless presence and being a solo traveller I did feel quite uncomfortable at times. Having said that, the actual location of the pub/hotel was on a balcony overlooking the canal, so still managed to make the most of it.

Lovely comfortable room. Lovely decor, very homely. Bed was soooo comfortable! I have a bad back & normally wake up with backache but not this time.....had a great night's sleep! 😁 Fab bathroom, again tastefully decorated. Plus it had a little metal corner shelf to put your toiletries on.....brilliant! Plenty of electrical sockets and USB sockets 👍 Great lighting! A powerful hairdryer that worked perfectly and an iron and ironing board! All in all a fab stay and will be returning 😁👍

Not a criticism, as it didn't affect my stay one bit, but do like a bit of a larger TV, although the one in our room was perfectly decent and had a great picture 👍

Very comfortable bed, plenty of space in the room. Room facing the canal was quiet and cool despite 30+C. Helpful reception staff. Sleeping quarters separate from the pub. Excellent breakfast. Reasonable evening meal choice. Great location next to the canal and right by the ring road. Brilliant location for Coop Live and Emirates stadium.

Not great location for an evening walk as dual carriage ways and industrial estates all around

Very comfortable beds, friendly staff. Spacious rooms that were well decorated. Everything was very nice and incredible value for money. The breakfast was outstanding. The hotel itself far exceeded my expectations and the staff were lovely.

It's a great location being next to the water however, the picture of the pub and the canal is a little deceptive. I went for a nice walk in both directions and it was very industrial, lots of litter, near some very busy roads which means it's not as peaceful as that initial picture leads you to believe. Potentially my fault not researching the area very much and being drawn in by the first picture. Overall, a great hotel and I would stay again

The welcome, the room all was wonderful

My daughter and I had an evening meal in the adjacent pub. we were rather fed up when at 1bout 8pm we asked for coffee at the end of our meal to be told the pub was closing and the coffee machine had been turned off and cleaned!! This was a Sunday evening! On Monday morning when I went to the pub for breakfast I asked if it would be possible please for someone to bring me the food - I have mobility problems- rather than me having to serve myself from the buffet. I was told rather grumpily that was certainly not possible. All the other 6 hotels at which I stayed - including the Premier Inn - had made sure that someone was able to do that for me and I was very grateful. What a pity that the dining room should let down the hotel.

Did book in advance, aware of multiple local events so was more than would normally pay. Arrived early and after a quick coffee our room was ready. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived back from our concert just in time for last orders, think we were last to leave the bar. Again, staff very friendly and politely reminded us of drinking up time. Lots of parking, no problem getting a table for breakfast, good selection, a!though I just had yoghurt and toast. Staff busy restocking and clearing tables. Overall, would stay again, very good location for motorway connections.

Coffee with breakfast was from machine, so not as nice as the one we paid for on arrival at the bar, but totally understand there would be no way to supply coffee on order to so many people. As expected in most places.
