What an amazing bunch of staff, especially Micha (mika?), what a lovely soul who loves her job and employer. that’s hard to find these days 😂 All round great experience made better buy all the lovely staff and especially Mika. Would highly recommend and loved the unique spa facilities

SPOTLESS ROOM AND ENSUITE. BUS AT THE BASE OF THE HILL INTO MIDDLETON AND MANCHESTER.

HAVING TO EACH GET A TOKEN FOR BREAKFAST AND AFTER DOING ALL THAT, BEING ALLOWED IN AT ABOUT 9.15AM, WITH NO FLEXIBILITY IN BREAKFAST BEING CLEARED. WE WERE TOLD BY KITCHEN/SERVING LADY - IT'S ALL GOING AT 9.30, SO LAST CHANCE (HAVING JUST BOUGHT OUT EXTRA EGGS AND SAUSAGES AT OUR REQUEST WHICH THEN GOT CLEARED AWAY TOO). I DIDN'T THINK THAT WAS QUITE FAIR OR RIGHT, HAVING PAID £16 FOR IT. I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS TAKEN AWAY TO BE EATEN BY STAFF?!!

Room very nice, nice stocked fridge too and a nespresso machine. Great spa facilities, lots of different steam rooms, aromatherapy rooms and even an ice room alongside pool, Jacuzzi and saunas

The breakfast service was quite poor - lots of people waiting in line for food to be brought to the buffet just for them to bring a few bits here and there. It just seemed as though they were trying to keep food to a minimum. Waiter saw me standing for 15 mins waiting for eggs and bacon and even told me he’d bring them to the table which never happened

The Spa was great, friendly staff and clean. There is a swimming pool of a good size (long enough for short laps-18m) there were there different saunas a cold room and a jacuzzi. Towels were provided. Staff at check-in we very friendly and efficient. Bed was comfy, and the cleaners were very sweet, folding our pjs for us. Can’t comment on the breakfast, but there is a Starbucks in the hotel- but it’s not open during breakfast hours. Beautiful scenery around the hotel.

The hotel could use a little up-dating, but it didn’t infringe on the stay, I do wish the Starbucks coffee would have been available during breakfast. But not the end of the world.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Facilities were great - well equipped gym, spa area and swimming pool. Nice surroundings. Staff friendly. Good value for money.

It did say when booking that they have events on a weekend and it could be noisy - this definitely was not an exaggeration. I came back from a wedding I was attending at about 9:30pm and the music in the hotel was so loud I could hear every song, also doors banging and someone hoovering outside the room at 9:45pm. However it did settle down after about 11:30pm thankfully.

The spa and treatments were very good and relaxing. Beautiful outlook to the back of the hotel. The food in the restaurant and breakfast were really good. Staff were friendly, particularly in the restaurant area.

Some areas are quite dated, e.g., carpets. Although, they are doing some revamp work at the moment. We booked a privilege room, but were given a standard room. We had to query it and then were told there was no hot water in the privilege rooms and offered a refund for the difference. Nobody made us aware of this until we queried it, which was frustrating and we felt this was quite underhand. Ultimately, the standard room was fine, but honesty from check-in would have been much more appreciated.

Bedside sockets did not work so beside lamps didn’t work either There were two free rooms when we arrived - why were we allocated the room opposite the lift and the wedding party venue ; when I asked to moved the room given to us had been intended for a wedding guest . Poor planning and room allocation I asked to swap also as the room had a blacked out window ( room 110) which could not be opened either . I did not pay for a room with no window In fairness our room was changed immediately

Everything was lovely, service was great, all staff were more than happy to help, nothing was too much trouble which made the overall experience that much better. The hotel is situated in an idyllic location with a beautiful and relaxing backdrop, would definitely recommend.

Our sheets could have possibly done with changing after our first night but I do understand that they try and reduce water wastage as a way of helping the environment so I would guess that this is the reasoning for this so definitely cannot complain too much!

Staff in the restaurant were exceptional, as we're the cleaning staff who attended to the rooms. Thank you to all of them. My mother and I felt welcomed and didn't want for anything. Service was outstanding. The seabass was absolutely delicious too!!

The reception staff varied. One receptionist was friendly and welcoming, however, another appeared to dislike her job, and having to speak with us / help with our enquiries seemed an imposition. The wall attachment for the shower head in my mother's room was broken and despite her mentioning it to reception on the day we arrived, had not been fixed by the time we left.
