We had the best stay ever were made to feel warm and welcomed especially by the owner the 2 brothers and the blonde haired lady nothing was to much trouble even down to giving my partner a birthday card

Nothing we didn't like the only thing would be that on the Tuesday / wednesday ?evening we came down late not wanting a full meal just drinks and a pudding the lady that served us made us feel a little uncomfortable like it was to much trouble saying she had a big party coming to eat we didn't want to be a bother so we had what we'd ordered and left but we'd most definitely come back again a mini fridge in the room would be an added bonus

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. A lovely hotel, the staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the bathroom was well appointed. Quality bedding, you can really tell the difference. Food was excellent and plentiful. The pub part had a nice relaxing atmosphere, complete with a log burner. Ample car parking, it's a little out of Holmfirth but only £6 in a taxi. We will definitely be back next T.Rexmas!

No faults at all. The only advice I can give is to ignore the sat nav, head to Holmfirth and go right, it's about a mile and a half down the road. The sat nav took us off the Saddleworth road, down tracks that would make a goat nervous!

Everything was beautiful inside especially our room. We have stayed in some lovely rooms as we travel a lot and from the outside this doesn't look all that but once inside is a different story. We arrived earlier than our check in but Nicholas who greeted us said it wasn't a problem for us to go to our room as it was ready. He really couldn't do enough for us. Our room was beautiful it was quiet and comfy and worth every penny. I would definitely recommend and definitely return. A little gem of a place 🥰

Only downfall of being a vegetarian the only option was tai green curry which I don't like. I'm sure if I'd have said something they would have tried to accommodate me somehow. Made up for this by the gorgeous vegetarian breakfast though.

This was a quick break in a part of the country we were not familiar with; but the hotel and staff made it a trip to remember. The standard of accommodation was excellent, and I have no words that can adequately describe the quality and quantity of the food. Brilliant accommodation, with a supremely comfortable bed. Bathroom to a standard that excelled. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Would love to come back for another go at one of the pies. By the way, the full English breakfast will fill you for the day. Thanks Nicholas.

Nothing except the very idiosyncratic door handle on our room. If that's the only issue, why am I complaining?

The property is beautiful. It has a very contemporary feel and the rooms are really nice and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and very clean. The food, both for breakfast and dinner was outstanding, although be aware they don’t serve food on Mondays. The staff simply could not have been more helpful.

There is no AC in the rooms so for our visit the room was a little warm. Having said that we did visit during some unseasonably hot and humid weather, so I suspect this isn’t usually a problem.

Everything was perfect with our stay at the pickled pheasant. Staff were exceptional who catered to all our needs and made us feel very welcome upon our arrival, never experienced staff like it at any accommodation I’ve stopped at. Our room was so cosy, very clean and had everything we needed and more inside. The shower was a highlight in our room. Breakfast was 10/10. The rest of the food they do looks amazing and will definitely be going back to try it when next in the area when doing a nearby walk.

Absolutely fantastic stay. The setting for the Pickled Pheasant is beautiful, and not too far to walk to a couple other pubs, a local shop etc should you want to explore further. The pub has plenty of outside seating overlooking the views, which as we were lucky enough to stay on a sunny weekend, we took advantage of. The room was lovely (we stayed in the Grouse), and was the luxury room we had hoped for, so comfy and clean - we didn't bring dogs, but it was clear that this would be a very dog friendly stay. We chose to eat in the restaurant in the evening, and I would definitely recommend doing this, the food was absolutely fantastic, I will be thinking about that blue cheese sauce for a while and the steak was cooked perfectly! Breakfast the next day was also fantastic, the veggie sausages were spot on. One of the most pleasant aspects of our stay is the staff here are fantastic, they are so attentive and it is some of the best customer service we have had in a long time. I am not sure of the managers name, or some of the ladies working alongside him during our stay, but they really made our stay there feel special. There is a smooth systematic approach to the running of the pub, but still hospitable. We will definitely be hoping to return, it was the refresh we needed.

Location is superb. Lots of walks in beautiful scenery right from the accommodation and information is provided regarding the surrounding area and things to do. Staff are extremely helpful and dogs are welcome friendly. We stayed in the Peacock room, which is dog friendly with its own access and small outside patio area. The bed is very comfortable and the facilities excellent. Although we did not have an evening meal, we wished we had, the food looks amazing, we did have breakfast which was fabulous, large choice. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

Welcoming & friendly , we stayed in the “Pheasant” , this was a beautiful comfy room/bed with great fixtures & furnishings . Lovely surroundings & views . Tasty breakfasts both mornings

No housekeeping- although extra toiletries, towels , milk /teabags/coffee were promptly replaced when you ask for them , I personally prefer to have my bed made & room serviced . The break cost just under £400 for 2 nights so I thought this would have been included.

Lovely place, very relaxing, ideal for visit to Holmfirth and surrounding area; only 5 minutes by taxi to centre of Holmfirth. Traditional stone/contemporary decor. Restaurant and bar serving good selection of food and drinks. Lively atmosphere Saturday night. Warm welcome from the staff who strive to do everything to help during your stay. We had a comfortable room with tea/coffee making facilities/hairdryer/fan etc. We stayed for one night and enjoyed our stay.
