We had an excellent experience in Hotel Rural Principe, a very cozy and relaxing historic place. The welcome was extremely friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are big and comfortable and the place is very quiet. The hotel is very nicely decorated with jazz music themes, each room is dedicated to a jazz legend, the owners are jazz musicians and we had nice talks about music. There are a few good restaurants close to the hotel, just a few meters walk. Worth its money and we would definitely come back when in the area.

We love this traditional house perfectly restaured with thousand of details. This place dedicated to music and jazz is absolutely unique and created and managed with passion and love...Here everything is linked with Jazz. We have slept in the room Duke Ellington and it was more than amizing!. A necessary place to stay in an incredible friendly village!

The room was very quiet, nice and warm for winter, all amenities were there. Nicely decorated. Old village house done up in rustic style with inner courtyard. Very nice. Sadly the mattress gave me a back ache, but then I'm a sensitive nature while my husband on the other hand slept perfectly well on it. The breakfast was great and very generous by Spanish standards and we enjoyed it very much.Staff was very friendly and helpful.

My mattress, but that's a personal thing. There was a smell of drains from the bathroom, so best to keep the bathroom door shut at night. It's an old renovated house after all, so I expect there are limits to what the owners can do to remedy this.The location is fine for an overnight stay, not inspiring for a longer walk.

The hotel was very quirky as it was jazz themed and each room was named after a jazz great. There were interesting photos and mementos displayed and the public areas were lovely with comfortable sofas and chairs. The room was a good size, the bed really comfortable and the shower was great

Car parking could a bit of a problem as you need to park in the street and at busy times it might be difficult to find a space close to the hotel

The hotel was great, quite and family-like. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant/breakfast was delicious. We'll be staying at this hotel every time we'll be in the area.

Very welcoming couple. Accomodation very clean and spacious and really well presented. Beautiful courtyard which would be amazing if very hot. In a small town, which we like.

Breakfast a little limited and it appears to be the same every day, served on a tray in the dining room. Pity the resturant which is in the accomodation is no longer functioning, that would have been perfect.

The owner is really friendly!

Breakfast was really strange..its probably what the eat regionally but for foreigners they would do better to stick to classic foods like bread & butter or eggs. Sound proofing is not great we could hear the loud TV from the room next door but it did not bother us to have a great night sleep.

The place is beautifully decorated, the rooms very comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, overall a very pleasant stay at a bargain price.

I had been looking forward to having dinner at the restaurant (very well reviewed) and was a little disappointed to find it closed. Apparently it's been closed for several months due to staffing problems. Alternative options are available in the village. Nonetheless it was a very enjoyable experience!

Excellent little hotel in a quiet village near Merida (that has a couple of lovely bars). Each room is jazz themed, Lola and Pepe and the lady who does the breakfasts are friendly and chilled and the rooms are clean and comfy. A lovely place!

Be aware you're a 15 minute drive from Merida, in case you're going sightseeing. You'll need a car.

The hotel was lovely, clean, with a fabulous atmosphere and very comfortable. Breakfast was good as was the coffee. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

We had read that it had a restaurant but unfortunately it was closed. There were other places to eat nearby though - they just didn't look at good as the hotel restaurant had.
