We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Amazing views all around, a lovely, well-kept garden. A sense of peace and tranquility. The hotel was within walking distance of restaurants and one supermarket. Our cabin was clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. We were also provided with coffee and sugar for the room. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff was kind and helped us with every request. Breakfast on the balcony with the birds chirping around was delicious. We recommend the stay and we would be happy to return.

The hotel was ideally located to explore Chirripo. It is a family run business and the welcome and attention we received was first class. We booked a standard double room and a junior suite, which were the same price. The standard room was extremely basic and in real need of upgrading. There was no ceiling fan which made the room hot and stuffy and there was insufficient storage space and hangers for clothes. Overall, the hotel facilities were good with a nice pool and lovely grounds. The whole place had a very relaxed feel about it. We really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend it to others. Would have scored this hotel a 10 had the standard room been better.

We stayed in the deluxe waterfront bungalow, which is at a separate location from the rest of the hotel. Their restaurant was closed during our stay so we didn't have dinner, and didn't want breakfast so we spent very little time on the hotel grounds. My review is thus for the bungalow only. That review is...wow!! This building and property was absolutely stunning. It's a beautiful and rustic log cabin, and it's RIGHT next to the river so you have a view you'll never tire of, and hear the rushing sound of water everywhere. And the entry to the property is gated so there's simply no one else around you. They even provided wood to build a fire in the built-in fire pit on the deck. It's like your own private riverside paradise!

The entries to both the hotel and the riverside bungalow are very steep. Not much they can do about this of course, but it can be a challenge for vehicles without 4x4 or at least newer tires, particularly if it's raining...walking could also be a challenge for anyone with limited mobility.

The staff of this hotel really make the experience. Every person we interacted with was multi-lingual, welcoming and professional. The restaurant is top-notch, the pool cool and well-maintained, the grounds abundant with flowers and birds. The amaryllis were in bloom when we visited, happily poking their cheery red heads up to greet us. The temperatures were cool and crisp at night for excellent sleeping while warming up to pool weather during the day. I would recommend booking a cabina rather than staying in the hotel itself, for privacy and comfort.

The mattress in the hotel room was getting tired and the sheets were old, pulled off the bed and should be replaced. The ensuite bath was functional but smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals.

Really close to Cloudbridge! Family run with a cool sweet history! Lots of care and attention from the staff which was such a treat! Delicious homemade soup! We were obsessed with the homemade hot sauce so begged and pleaded to be able to buy some which they accommodated! Beautiful morning views as we sipped coffee on the comfy chairs out front our cabin.

We couldn't get our fire to stay lit but that's on us! :P

My friend and I stayed here before and after our single-day hike of Cerro Chirripo, the highest peak in Costa Rica. Our assigned room was on the first floor, with nice views of the mountains to the east. There were two bunk beds and a double bed, not super comfortable but good enough to allow us to rest our weary bones before and after the hike. In the bathroom, I liked the grippy tiles in the shower, which prevent slips; the shower itself had adequate water pressure. The walls of the room were made of fresh pine boards, exuding a pleasant smell. The entire property was clean, making it obvious that it is well maintained. Hotel staff were very helpful throughout our stay, even arranging for lunch bags which we took on our hike. On our last day, we had a nice breakfast on the outer patio while enjoying the sunny views. While hotel location is convenient, there is still a good 2 km walk/drive to the trailhead for Chirripo, most of it uphill and the last part on an unpaved road (low clearance vehicles take note).

Room was on the upper floor, requiring the use of stairs and ramps to get bags/luggage up and down. Hotel has no elevator. No A/C in rooms, have to keep window open for air circulation. No insect screens on windows. Old-school metal key for the room door. Parking can be a bit tight, as there are only 4 or 5 designated spots. Very steep driveways to get on and off the property, hotel is built on a slope. Smell of cooking from kitchen below would occasionally drift into the room through the window that had to stay constantly open for air circulation.

Beautiful gardens, pool and view . Very quiet - set up a steep road with amazing views and meticulous gardens. The hotel is run by the nicest Tico family. The restaurant for dinner was outstanding. They happily accommodated special requests. The cabins are nice and private there are some that look super special set in the trees and at the end of the property commanding exceptional views and birding.

The rooms are basic and not on par with the rest of the property and facilities. That said, I would not let detract from staying there.

This hotel is located in a fantastic place right in the lush rain forest. Mornings were unbelievable with all the birds singing. We had our own hut with a private beautiful garden. The facility was clean and comfortable.

We found the restaurant to offer rather average food. There are better options nearby, so we mostly dined elsewhere.

The location is perfect. Staff are helpful and flexible. The facilities are quite nice. The standard room is very "standard" . Would definitely come back and opt for a cabin instead.

The towels provided were old; almost falling apart.

Breakfast and service very good. Good choice on menu for evening. Great to sit outside and watch all the beautiful birds. Grounds and gardens very tidy with some lovely colourful plants. Great views all around

Very thin walls in rooms so would get a casita next time. Could do with some padding on dining chairs
