We had a great stay at this beautiful hotel. If you travel by car, the location is great to explore Cordoba, Granada and Malaga as day trips. The hotel itself is located remotely between hills with olive trees. the pool area is beautiful. the hotel is very new and modern, same for the furniture in the room. We also had dinner there one night. All the dishes were really good for a reasonable price. total recommendation! Wifi was working absolutely well, also in the room.

Unfortunately we had not the best weather. We used the little spa area with the sauna. It is a little bit irritating that there is only a 30min slot per room for an exclusive use of the spa for the entire stay. More exclusive slots can be booked for money. We would have preferred a community use for free. Also the Spa is lacking relaxation options and the stone floor was not heated, this was very cold. Same for the room, the floor was not heatable. we turned on the radiator but if the floor is always ice cold, it is not that comfortable.

+ The place is beautiful - with great, calming design and fantastic views on the olive grove and the mountains from the common areas such as a restaurant and a pool. + The staff is nice and helpful. + The bed was huge and comfy. + The sauna and the pool are great facilities. + The location is good to explore both the mountains and the seaside.

+ The breakfast was a total disappointment, with the cheapest, lowest quality, supermarket ingredients: frozen bread and pastries, orange juice from the concentrate, boiled cage eggs, dry supermarket tortilla, tasteless sliced gouda (?) cheese etc. Quantity over quality. A bizarre decision in a boutique, elegant hotel. It was so much below Spanish standards - for what they charge, you can get two decent breakfasts in any cafeteria, with a freshly squeezed orange juice and a tortilla made the same morning on the spot. Because of the breakfast quality, we didn’t even check out the restaurant. I rant about it because otherwise the hotel would be perfect. + I would prefer sauna to be shared and thus always available, with no reservations, but it is my personal preference.

The breakfast was tasty, good. Brian here says that maybe the pineapple and melon should have been fresher some days.

We would feel that the dinner meal was not as good, certainly not as generous in terms of potatoes and / or vegetables as we would consider ok. There was one evening when Brian ordered grilled pork that he got his big lump of meat (which was tender) and one small potato cut into wedges. That was it. It felt very mean. And it’s not like we paid little for it - it was a healthy average price.

We had an incredibly relaxing week at Hacienda Fresneda María. A rich breakfast with everything you could need. Super friendly staff who fulfilled every wish, and a wonderful accommodation surrounded by numerous olive trees. The infinity pool, which isn't heated and was therefore a bit cold, was a wonderful way to cool off on the hot days under the Andalusian sun. It was truly the most idyllic hotel we've ever stayed at. Thank you so much!

Everything was absolutely perfect! Only the vegetarian options at dinner were very limited, so unfortunately, we only had dinner at the hotel once.

The hotel staff are friendly and this is a perfect location for us as we have family living near. We stayed in a different room this time - little chalet style double - possibly the comfiest bed I've slept in in a long while!

At dinner the dining room could do with a bit of ambient lighting - it's far too bright for the evening. Maybe an honesty bar or somewhere to get a drink later in the evening? We returned at 11.00pm one evening hoping for a glass of wine but it was all closed up.

Overall we really liked our stay! The environment is quite nice and calm, ideal to relax. The fact that it is adults only and there are no children around really helps. The hotel is really well decorated and the pool area is beautiful, with a great view and the infinity pool. Breakfast does not have a huge food variety, but the food served was really delicious.Eventhough the hotel is located in the countryside, it is very well connected with the motorway making it not so far away from the closest main cities (malaga and granada, about 35 to 45 minutes away). Finally the quality vs price relationship is excellent! I would definitely go back :)

We have no major negative points to highlight, however there is room for improvement in some things: the room would get very hot during the afternoon and the AC sometimes would not cool the room enough; the black outs in our window still let a lot of light in the room in the early morning which made it harder to sleep; our room did not have many surfaces to put things on and did not have a chair/ table which could be useful if you need to check in briefly in your computer (i do not know if the other rooms have it or not).

Just what you expect from a holiday retreat. Make sure you book it for at least 2-3 nights. Otherwise you will regret having to leave already. Also recommend the kitchen. They offer a nice selection of regional meals all presented tastefully. The place has class without being too pretentious about it.

Maybe our room was a bit too small and the staircase too steep. So nothing for handicapped. But ever so tastefully decorated. They call it cave style. Nice.

The location is secluded, but lovely, set in the middle of an olive tree grove with beautiful views of the landscape around. The hotel itself is spotless and breathes tranquility. The small pool is very refreshing and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax, both around the pool and in other areas. The restaurant serves delicious food and the house wines are of very good quality. The staff are professional and helpful. Our room is cosy, the bed is huge and both mattress and pillows are comfortable, and the shower has excellent water-pressure.

It was so peaceful, the views were amazing and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was great. The hotel is beautiful. Noella on reception was great, so helpful and so friendly! We also enjoyed a massage on site as a treat.

There is nothing nearby so if you don’t eat at the hotel restaurant, you’d need to drive at least 15 minutes for something good to eat. Sometimes the hotel restaurant was ‘full’ but not due to space but due to only having 1 waitress on which was a shame. So make sure to book.

The hotel was absolutely fabulous. It was clean, chic and very much like a boutique retreat. Our room number 5 was amazing and smart as was the large bathroom with walk in shower, Breakfast was a good selection. Dining room had amzaing views too. The lady called Noellia on reception was extremely helpful and friendly. We were attending a birthday weekend at a nearby property and it was perfect.

The queue for coffee each morning as the lady made it fresh was a little frustrating as we all were getting in the way of other guests trying to choose breakfast also the toast machine took simply ages. Only other thing was the bodywash in the shower did not come out , all but a dribble. I had not taken toiletries as website said they were included so this was a problem. But these are minor gripes as overall it was a totally splended stay.
