The hotel is one of the best we visited. The staff, the views, the food, the jacuzzi etc. was AMAZING! I really recommend visiting the three-course-viking dinner aswell where Olé (One of the owners) has a great preformance. The hotel is nicely located allowing you to take daytrips to Geiranger, Valldal and stordal and much more. We cannot recommend this hotel enough!! 5/5 stars.

Everything was exceptional!

The hotel was lovely, the owners and staff were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We had food on both nights, the meals were delicious with explanations of how they were made. We had dinner in the Viking house one evening, it was the "jewel in the crown" for our whole 3 week tour. Breakfast was equally as good, there was plenty of choice with local food on offer. The room was lovely and spacious, with beautiful views from every window. We were fascinated by the swirling clouds around the mountains, we watched them until way past midnight. The beds are really comfortable, the showerroom is large and the shower is good. We hope to return another day

Nothing to dislike.

A hidden gem of a hotel, tucked away in a peaceful location. The staff are absolutely outstanding and the dinner was brilliant. Breakfast was a well stocked continental buffet with hot fresh eggs and bacon available. The bedroom was immaculate and well presented with a comfortable bed and bedding. Highly recommended!

The turning from the road to the hotel caught me off-guard, it looks like a little gravel track heading into the woods so I went past the first time thinking it couldn't be right, however that little gravel track leads to a hidden gem of a hotel. Make the turn and enjoy!

We were placed in the Stordal suite which was very spacious and nicely decorated. This hotel was small and the people chat in the jacuzzi and at breakfast. Car charging was free (Tesla universal). Easy 1 minute drive up a dirt road from the hwy. Near several sites.

It was warm in the suite and no air conditioning. It could be a problem on hottest days of the year.

Fantastic views from our superb suite which was very spacious. Excellent staff, very helpful. Very good breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Centrally situated, near the fjord.

Dinner was in the Fine Dining style, which is not to everyone’s taste. It is a 3 course set menu. But 11km down the road is a super restaurant serving traditional local food.

Great property. Lovely breakfast restaurant and relaxation lounge

Large comfortable rooms but the showers were poor. Underwhelmed by the Viking dinner. The ambience was great. The fish main dish was unseasoned and bland. The panatonne was just whipped cream and the waitress said one batch was different from the other 😕 there was nothing to support a Viking experience except for the location More fruit for the breakfast please

Beautiful hotel in the mountains. The room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the mountains and the valley below. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were tired in the evening so did not have dinner at the hotel. But breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. This is a great place to relax and take a breather during an active vacation.

Not really something we didn’t like but more of a watch-out: While the charm of the hotel is in it’s isolation, it also means there are no stores or restaurants nearby. So either plan to eat dinner there or bring food with you before you arrive.

Room had a lovely view and was very quiet. Hotel manager was very helpful and friendly. Bed very comfortable and we slept very well. Table and sofa in the room were comfortable and well positioned.

As the hotel has only just re-opened for the summer season, there were only two rooms booked (including ours) and thus the restaurant was closed and the breakfast wasn't offered as a buffet, but rather a pre-prepared selection of dishes on our table, not all of which we would have chosen. Bathroom was functional, but perhaps not to the standard we might have expected for a four star hotel - odd, considering that the rest of the room was very nicely appointed.

This is truely a boutique property. Every attention has been made to detail. From the decor to the general ambiance inside and out. The staff are attentive and great to deal with. We were very fortunate to have stayed on a night when Ole presented his special meal. What a fabulous place to stay. What an experience!

There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like.

The hotel is super beautiful and the location in the middle of nature is just perfect. You get everywhere real quick to Alesund, Geiranger, Trollstigen… The owners are super kind and gave us a free upgrade. The food is amazing. This was the best hotel we have stayed in Norway so far.
