Perfect location away from the busy centre of town. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Nothing you ask is too much for them. The breakfast buffet is so extensive and delicious as wel as the dinner buffet has so many options which are local and very fresh. The rooms have a beautiful view of the fjord that you can enjoy from your private balcony. The rooms are decorated in the beautiful scandinavian style. After a day of touring in the beautiful nature you can enjoy a relaxing hot jacuzzi.

Not much to dislike. Maybe the bathroom needs a little update but it still provides with everything you need.

I’m obsessed with this hotel. It was amazing!! We had a hard time getting there because Google Maps said a road was open that wasn’t(traveling beginning of May). They had warned me about this beforehand, but I didn’t realize we were taking the same road. Their instructions were a LIFESAVER. Their staff was amazing. Super nice and accommodating when we showed up after dinner had closed. They told us about their new sauna which isn’t actually open for the next couple weeks(QR code to reserve didn’t work and confirmed with different staff later), but that is a big perk for anyone looking to cold plunge and sauna in the future! FYI, we were able to get to the fjord and do a cold plunge 30 meters from the hotel. It was so fun! The room was amazing! Super clean, the views were gorgeous, and the restaurant was insanely good. I wish I could eat their dinner and breakfast every day. I wish I could’ve stayed there another night. If we ever come back to Norway we are definitely staying here! I loved it!

Excellent location just up the road from the village, situated on the bank of the fjord. Make sure to get a room with a porch/ balcony, the views of the ford and mountains are fantastic. Very modern nicely decorated hotel and rooms. Classy entrance lobby with small bar area with glass windows overlooking the fjord. Classy restaurant with glass windows overlooking the fjord. Very good dinner buffet, but very pricey. Excellent breakfast buffet with a large selection of items. Adequately sized and nicely decorated room with large glass windows and a covered porch to sit out on. The hotel is one story at the front and six stories in the back because it is on a steep bank. Free parking in the front and the back, the hotel has a very nice fast elevator from the bottom to the top.

There is absolutely nothing negative that I can say about. Just be willing to pay a little more for the accommodations and dinner than usual.

We drove to the property and were greeted by a super polite gentleman, Keneth, who took our bags and parked our car. I later realised he was the son of the founder and was running the property. Upon check-in, Keneth and a lovely young lady, Helga, informed us that the room we had booked was likely going to be too tight for our family of 5. Instead they offered us their brand new suite, which was likely one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever seen. It was part of a new block that recently been completed which included a cocktail lounge below and two suites on top. While we were charged more, it was very reasonable and Kenth and Helga offered to show us both options very patiently while we made a decision. We were at the hotel for less than 24 hours and were bummed out that we didn't get to spend more time there. There were many beautiful nooks and corners to enjoy the breathtaking views. Also, the morning breakfast was outstanding. The dining room is very charming and the staff are all very friendly. Keneth's father (founder of the hotel) also sat alone at one table enjoying what he's built, and he should be proud!

The automatic closet light in the suite walk-in wardrobe took too long to shut off. Besides this minor nit, everything was perfect!

Everything. Lovely and friendly staff. Excellent food. Beautiful location with eonderful views. Very well designed with balcony looking over the fjord. Grat hot tubs. Breakfast really good and very well labelled. Good quality and huge variety. Offering lifts to station.

Booking.com. you were so unhelpful and denied it was possible to reduce the length of our stay despite your claims that we can cancel. You said it was the hotel. Despite them confirming they had no problem you have taken an extra day's money. The hotel said you have to ask for the refund and then give it to us.

Beautiful location - it doesn’t get better than this. The rooms are cozy and well equipped with comfortable beds. We had a little balcony overlooking the fjord - a lovely place to drink a cup of tea/coffee (there is both coffee and tea in the room but there’s also a nice coffee station by the restaurant with free coffee you can help yourself too). Easy to find and good parking right outside.

In the summer months they have a buffet rather than an a la carte menu. The food is delicious and there’s lots of choice but it might not be to everyone’s taste!

I would say it’s the best place to stay during your visit of Geiranger fjord. The hotel has everything for the comfortable stay and there’s even no need to leave the hotel :) From the room there’s a fantastic view on the fjord and the fjord itself is just 1 minute walk. The room is very cosy, the food in the restaurant is delicious. The outside jacuzzi with fjord view is very relaxing and charming. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The location is not in the village where the jetty is, so the place is very calm and you can avoid crowds of tourists from cruise ships, while hotel staff can bring you to the village upon request. To summarise, it’s a really perfect and never-to-be-forgotten place! Highly recommended!

Spectacular view of the Geiranger fjord. Located a 20 minute walk outside the village right on the water. People are extremely friendly, both breakfast and dinner buffet were great and, if you don’t want to walk to or from the village, they send somebody in a hotel car for you. Make sure you book fjord view, it is a once in a lifetime experience. Our room had a little balcony were we could sit until the sun disappeared. Also the rip boat tour on the fjord, recommended by the hotel, was spectacular.

Exceptional & Excellent~! This is my 5th European Cross Country. Grand Fjord Hotel is The Best Hotel I ever stay in overall. Good money value. Hotel is located in best spot in Geirangerfjord and all the rooms has view of Fjord. I really enjoyed the jaccuzi with fantastic Fjord view. Enough free parking space. The best hotel breakfast I ever had. Don't miss to try egg bunaditt on bagle with salmon served by kitchen crew. Excellent service from all hotel personnel, specially Kenneth the owner was trying his best to help. Special thanks to Kenneth ~ ^^

Need robe and slippers for outside Jacuzzi.

The room was quite spacious with the sitting area and the patio that looked out to the fjord. They had a Dyson fan in the room which we put to great use since we were there during hot summer days. It looks more run down from the outside of the area we stayed in than it was on the inside. The breakfast was plentiful and came with a great view.

The logistics were challenging at time. For example, you enter on the top floor of the hotel, but our room was in the "annex" of the first floor. Parking was barely adequate. We felt lucky to get a space each time we returned. The shuttle service was not helpful if not on their schedule. We planned to use it outside of their regular hours and were told to just ask. When we asked, the person who drives was not available and they didn't know when he would return. It's a long way from town and no shoulder to walk on, so glad we had a car to be able to drive. Parking wasn't too expensive and we were luckily able to find spaces.
