The location is just south of Niort, so was ideal for the start of our cycling tour. We had requested to be able to leave our cars there for the tour and they were happy to do that. The old chateau is quiet and isolated. The rooms were hotel-like. The hotel is used as a conference centre and hence the rooms are basic, but sufficient. The staff are outstanding. Every single one of them went out of their way to be helpful. The restaurant, which we used on all three of the nights we were there was also excellent. The food was value for money and prepared to a high standard. The staff in here were also excellent. In fact the people more than made up for any minor shortcomings in the accommodation. The pool is also a nice feature and there is even a modest gym with a couple of cardio machines.

The rooms were set in corridors and although they are quiet, corridor noise from people talking as they come to bed can be disturbing. Not the fault of the hotel though.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Our room had doors out to a patio and the garden - great to sit out and to be able to take the dog out early morning. The bed was comfy, the shower was good, and there was a hairdryer. Easy parking, near to our room. A good location near Niort on our travels back from Portugal. We had a very good meal in the adjoining restaurant - beautifully presented and very tasty. We had the three course set menu which was too much for us but still lovely. We didn't have breakfast as too full from the night before.

It would have been good to have a kettle / coffee making facilities. On the website it said that the pool was open from 1st of April, but when we arrived we were told it didn't open until June. A shame as it is an indoor pool and I was looking forward to a swim.

The room was modern functional and spotlessly clean. Small private terrace leading to large communal gardens. Indoor swimming pool excellent. Handy for A10. Large car park. Ideal stopover hotel on route to south of France. Great hotel.

Independent restaurant on site was expensive (70 Euro for three courses) although food and atmosphere were fabulous.

The property is delightful; the bathrooms surprisingly modern; and the restaurant (on the property but separately managed) was really excellent.

There was a general feeling that the property as a whole had seen better days. The pool area was not all enticing. The rooms had been modernised but in somber grey - which with poor lighting - felt rather depressing.

Lovely setting and good facilities, the bedroom was comfortable with a little terrace.

Lighting very dim, even in bathroom, which wasn't practical and could be improved.

Close to the auto route I’m lovely rural location

Restaurant was closed but found an adequate pizza machine about 3km away

We used the pool which was nice. The onsite independent restaurant was very good.

Aircon would have been nice but there was a large fan in the room.
