This is a beautiful old structured hotel with great views of the sun moon lake. Lovely staff. And a lido and hot baths downstaires

The soft furnishings are ready for an update and the carpets need better cleaning or replacing. We had 2 large coffee coloured stains in the middle of our room carpet with many other smaller stains all over. We informed the staff who were aware and offered us another room but with only a small window si we didn't bother to change

A warm and cozy place. Most beautiful building in Ita Thao. Very friendly and helpful staff. Me and my girlfriend loved the balcony with lake view for a romantic evening. Because of the wooden structure the rooms are a bit noise sensitive but you receive a nice email before your arrival, which explains everything very well. The restaurant is very beautiful and the panorama windows were very clean so we had a nice view on the lake during breakfast. The breakfast itself was normal but we were also very late shortly prior closing time.

We came by car and could find a parking spot in front of the hotel right away. Otherwise, the hotel receptionist would have helped us. It was raining and the doorman came with umbrellas and insisted to carry our luggage up to the reception and further up to our room. A "wow!" service. Very professional and friendly people at the reception. Beautiful entrance. The hotel is mainly made of wood and is literaly standing on the shore of the Sun Moon Lake, providing a nice panoramic view. They explained us about the wooden structure and politely asked us to make our best not to make too much noise and to be considerate of other guests. To my surprise we never heard any noise due to the wooden structure. The only exception was noise from people clever enough to shout in the entrance hall late at night, ignoring all other guests. A worldwide classic! The hotel has a swimming pool and gym downstairs. Large and pleasant room. Very comfortable bed. Perfect bathroom/shower/bathtub. Amazing view over the lake.

Only one mistake: we went down to the hotel restaurant for diner. Beautiful restaurant, but the food was awful. Multi-course meal. We love Asian food but on that evening we left almost every course after tasting.

Really excellent location, within 5-7 min walking distance to the cable car station and Ita Thao shopping street (opposite direction). Views were unhindered and beautiful. It’s the only hotel I could see that was fully flush near the lake — If you take a 3rd floor room with the balcony, you can even fish directly into the lake. Hotel had faint fragrance of cypress throughout. Bathroom was newly renovated.

Rooms were clean but residence was a bit old. Bathrooms are new though.

Quirky, yet fun hotel in an older all-wood building, with excellent lake views. Views from the lobby and the restaurant are spectacular as in the photos. The rooms are clean, with modern bathrooms, and the whole place has a lovely smell from the wood. All staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. Most staff spoke English. The buffet breakfast is fairly generous, with Western options provided alongside Chinese ones.

Parts of the hotel are quite worn out and in need of renovation. This includes the swimming pool, which has a fair bit of mould on it. While the carpets were clean, they did have stains and should probably be replaced. Due to being made of wood, as other reviewers have noted, the hotel has poor soundproofing. We didn’t have problems, but when we stayed the hotel was relatively quiet. To their full credit, the staff are very aware of these issues and do their best to inform guests and help make staying there as pleasant as possible. We still really enjoyed our stay there.

The staff was exceptional. They were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay there. I appreciated the amenities provided in the room - they provided us snacks and complimentary drinks as well as tea and coffee (which isn’t common in other Taiwanese hotels we have stayed in). The location is perfect and right by the lake. The hotel also gives vouchers for rental bikes!

The facilities could be updated, the carpet in some areas was clearly very old.

It’s got stains and shows age, but it is a very nicely staffed property. The desk spoke English well. Breakfast is large and tasted good. I was worried about not having an elevator but the stairs really weren’t that bad.

The swimming pool setup was awkward. I’m not used to it having an opening where anyone dining could see. Which is probably why the pool closes at 530, which was also a downside.

Friendly staff, great location with beautiful view at the lake, close to boating companies and rental facilities for bikes, pedal boats, SUPs etc. Delicious breakfast. The hotel is the most beautiful building in town.

It is very pleasant and necessary that there is a humidifier built in the room. However, the humidifier is noisy and can not be switched down or off. I needed earplugs to be able to fall asleep.

We love that it is a walkable distance to the cable car and we can just walk there early in the morning. The staff was also very patient and was able to explain the tickets for the cable car in English. There are also a food street nearby and it was easy to get food. The view from the room was also lovely and it was so foggy in the morning when we were there that it looks so mysterious.

The hotel staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, providing a baby crib and sterilization pot upon request. 6. There is a free parking lot available for guests. 7. The hotel is built from natural wood, giving off a pleasant, comforting scent.

1. The hotel lacks laundry facilities, forcing guests to use a laundromat on the nearby old street. 2. The wooden structure may cause minor noise due to creaking. 3. Small animals may occasionally be heard running within the walls, possibly due to the wooden construction.
