Staff are very kind, served me breakfast earlier than regular time, kept open the front desk door for me to pick up my left baggage behind the front desk. Many thanks.

At arrival, the front door was locked and no one was inside, a staff happened to be outside noticed me and unlocked the door, gave me the key and lead to my room. For a senior person, walking to and from the station uphil over 260 steps laying on the path is a bit too challenging.. The bathroom is tight and you hit your head when you wash your face.

Everything was perfect. Staff was helpful and friendly, room comfortable and clean, delicious food. We only stayed one snowy night and therefore didn’t use the facilities (the sauna, for example). We booked last minute to celebrate our marriage anniversary and it was worth every minute. Now we have to go back to see the view in all other seasons :)

Not the fault of the hotel, but if you are going by foot be aware of Google maps or apps alike. It is close but with snow and short days it might be difficult to get there.

Location: Lovely location with lots of things to explore without having to drive. It takes 10minutes to get to the ferry that brings you to the other side of the river. From there one can explore the Bastei, Schwedenlöcher, Honigsteine and many more walks and hiking trails. The views are amazing! Rooms: We were in the tower room (Turmzimmer) and had a fantastic view of the Bastion Bridge (Basteibrücke) from our bed and bathroom. The room itself had a coffee machine with coffee pads, kettle and tea, comfy beds with a view and a bathroom. Everything was very clean and it felt welcoming - there was even a personalised note with information about the hotel and things to do. Breakfast: You can sit inside or outside with a lovely view. There is coffee and tea, juices, various breadrolls and bread and a variety of cheses and cold cuts. I am vegan and usually struggle to find something to eat when it comes to breakfast. I am not sure if it was because I mentioned it in our booking notes but I had some delicious savoury as well as sweet spreads to choose from and there was fresh fruit and veggies not to mention cornflakes and soy/oat milk. Dinner: Dinner was incredible! We asked if there was a chance of veganising a meal and without hesitation the chef gave us a list of things he could do for us - and then he conjured up a delicious home made 3-course vegan meal that hit all the right spots. I cannot recommend it enough! Staff: The staff was an absolute pleasure to be around. Always courteous and always finding ways to make the stay even more comfortable. Other: The sauna is very clean and towels are being provided. You can chose between steam sauna or a "normal" one. After every sauna session you can relax inside or outside on very comfy chairs and enjoy the silence of nature.

Nothing. My husband and I had an absolute blast. It is the perfect location if you want to go on hiking adventures and explore the surroundings and relax in your room or the sauna when you get back in the evening.

The hotel and surroudings were beautiful, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast and dinner were amazing.

Literally the only negative was the pillows - we only had one each and they were so soft that they provided no support. Unfortunately this meant we both slept really badly and woke up with head and neck pain.

The view from the room Bastei was incredible and the staff was very friendly and courteous. Room cleanliness was a huge plus point. Ideal vacation spot!

The WiFi was very slow but to be expected on a quiet mountainside.

It was a wonderful stay, beautiful house in secluded area with a great view on Bastei formations. The house, rooms, staff, sauna and breakfast - everything was just great, and thoughtful details accompanied the whole experience. Danke schon

The location, staff, facilities were all superb.

Comfort could have been better - the mattresses on the beds, pillows could be more supportive. It would have been great to have some coffee sachets (decaf and regular) and some tea bags available in the bungalow. Definitely a tad bit expensive but still a worthwhile experience.
