The property location, right at the end of the famous bridge, is ideal. It is also right next to the parking lot, which makes transferring luggage relatively easy. The rooms themselves were very pleasant and comfortable, plus there were very nice sitting areas, one with a cozy fire burning. The breakfast was very good, with fruits, breads, pastries, meat, yoghurt, and more. They even had food out for snacking throughout the day. There was also a very large outdoor patio and terrace area, which appeared to be delightful, though it was closed for the off season when we visited.

There was nothing we didn’t like about this property.

It is in a spectacular location overlooking the iconic bridge in Besalú. We had a friendly welcome and were shown round the beautiful and historic property, with hand painted wallpaper and original tiles. There’s was a beautiful wood panelled library and use of a kitchen. Our balcony overlooked the bridge and was a great place for an aperitif.

Nothing to do with the property, but at times there was an overwhelming smell of sewage due to old drainage systems in the town. The owners have installed air con so you can close windows when this happens.

Exceptional hotel. Beautiful building. Atmospheric huge room with beautiful views of the bridge. Staying over New Year we were worried about access to bars/restaurants and whilst breakfast was available and delicious there was no where to eat in the evening. We needn’t have worried, what a warm and friendly welcome and an opportunity to use the kitchen and beautiful adjoining room with open fire. Joining our host and fellow guests in the main square at New Year was quite magical. Add to that the level of comfort, the welcome our elderly dog was given and the beautiful town it was one of the highlights of our month long trip that we will never forget. We cannot thank the wonderful and exceptional staff enough.

Leaving, we will return.

Clean, quiet, comfortable room just on the other side of the bridge. Parking right across the street. They noted our request for a quiet room and provided a very quiet room. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the bridge where we enjoyed a nice glass of wine in the evening. Very historic interior.

Parking can be a challenge if you arrive during the afternoon peak time. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags up 1 or 2 flights of stairs. We were aware of this so it wasn't a big deal for us.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was exceptionally clean and quiet, making for a very comfortable and restful visit. The breakfast exceeded expectations—fresh, well-stocked, and a great way to start the day. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, adding a warm and welcoming touch. Parking was convenient and hassle-free. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Very comfortable and homely, we stayed a week an were invited to treat the place as our home. The hostess Montse was very helpful and friendly. We were caught up in a heavy rainstorm and could not easily leave the premises one evenig - she rustled up a bread ham and cheese supper, even finding some wine. The location is good for the village - just cross the old bridge. Good base for seeing the general area. 40 minutes to the coast and some great hill country (la Garrotxa) just close. There are good cycling options in Olot, with many green ways. Terrific restaurant at the other end of the bridge which is Michelin starred, yet prices were just as you might pay in any ordinary restaurant at home (UK). And the wine prices were super reasonable.

The shower in room1 flooded the floor unless you were very careful - this is being renovated over the winter we understand

Beautiful old villa, perfect location, stunning views and a very tasty breakfast.

The hotel is not at all flexible to slight changes in the check-in hours, even when asking months in advance. We only found out that our request was denied, when calling a few days ahead of our stay. Communicating in English via chat is also not easy, which is odd since the hostess spoke perfect English when welcoming us. Other than these initial problems, we very much enjoyed our stay.

The hotel has only 11 rooms in a large historic house. It is more like what I would call an Inn because it is unique with a lot of charm. It has a wonderful original wood paneled library for guest use as well as the original living room with hand painted wall paper and coved ceiling, also for guest use. Breakfast was served on a lovely outside terrasse as well as in a breakfast room. Various coffees and a large selection of teas were available as well as juices. Lots of sliced and whole fresh fruit. Hard boiled eggs as well as cold potato omelet and bacon, and cold cuts. There was a nice variety of breads, croissants, buns, and cake and several cereals and milk. The hotels location at the end of the picturesque historic bridge which crossed over the river into the medieval town could not have been better. Our room was large, but I may have rented a larger than standard room. The bathroom was very nice. We had a small balcony with two small chairs that I enjoyed sitting on. The staff at the front desk as well as the breakfast room staff and cleaners were all very helpful and friendly. As we are seniors they helped us with our bags and went out of their way to drive us to the bus stop. The hotel also had a spa service if you wanted to indulge.

Could have used a couple of luggage racks in the room.

I enjoyed the welcome where the rooms and history were explained and the paintwork! Very special and original. The location was excellent and I could walk everywhere while my husband had his meeting. After check out time I was invited to stay and enjoy a cup of tea in the lounge until his return. Breakfast was delicious and set up in a lovely area with huge windows. On arrival we were starving and enjoyed the buffet lunch next door ( independent) I couldn’t fault it and hope to return. Thank you

Well located right next to the old bridge into Besalu. Good sized comfortable room. Easy access to the old town. Beautiful public rooms

Bathroom has been upgraded, but area around window still needs retiling as it looks scruffy. Access to room is up staircases with no lift (which you are warned about) but could be difficult with luggage if you're not strong. There is no private secure parking, but very close to free public car park.
