The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was also great. Altough we forgot to tell the contact person in advance that my wife is vegan, they did their very best to improvise and provide her with a variety of options for breakfast. They put a real effort in it, which we really appreciate.

It is really just a very minor inconvenience but nobody at the property seemed to speak English on a conversational level.

Ricardo, the owner was accommodating to our request to check in at 11pm though we ended checking in at 6pm. Other accommodations near Teatro Silenzio refused check in after 7pm. Breakfast was great offering lots of selection and wide choice of barrista coffee. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was delicious and convenient since we were rushing to watch the Bocceli concert 15kms away. The waitresses were also friendly and accommodating.

We liked everything including the nice drive to and from Teatro Silenzio.

This very old mill has been converted into a lovely hotel with a restaurant and terrace and a very warm, enthusiastic host, Ricardo.

We did not realize that Saline Volterra and Volterra were completely different towns, 8 km away from each other. That was not a problem, but could be for someone who isn't travelling by car.

We've stayed at Vecchio Mullino for a night in the end of May'22 in one of their double rooms. The room was very clean, quiet, and air conditioned. The stuff is kind and friendly (and speak English so to give decent orientation) and there is a free parking for the guests of the restaurant and the hotel. Next morning we had a nice breakfast (the usual croissants, juices, yoghurts, etc. and good espresso). Volterra is at about 8-10 km from the hotel ( the hotel is located in a nearby village called Saline di Volterra). The hotel is a former mill, very interesting place, tastefully done. All in all beautiful place, I recommend it and hope to stay there again.

Breakfast had delicious options, numerous baked choices, fruits, cakes, yogurts, jams, drinks... Service was great!! Ricardo is very attentive and friendly. Our room was a nice size with character, in a nice old mill with history in a small village close to Volterra! Small grocery close by, parking onsite, and Ricardo serves great food in his restaurant attached to the hotel, so all is very convenient.

Beautiful property in quiet town. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was beautiful, delicious bread and cake made right there. The restaurant is outstanding.

Great place to stay when visiting Volterra/San Gimigniano area. Very clean place. The owner is super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant at the hotel is exceptional and staff is happy to accommodate specific requests. A variety of options for breakfast - yoghurts, pastry, fruits, cold cuts and cheese.

super nice owner who speaks better Spanisch than English, haha. But a great guy!! fantastic food, both breakfast and dinner The waitresses are wonderfull and extremely helpful. Whenever you are in the neighborhood, this is were you want to stay. Muchas gracias amigo!! Leo

Hotel and restaurant are run by the Ricardo, the owner and his family. Very friendly atmosphere, authentic ambient, excellent dinner and breakfast. We felt very welcome, wishing to come again. Congrats, Ricardo!!!

Breakfast was typical Italian with extra fruit and yoghourt. Good cake.

While not within the owners’ power, public transport was limited.
