This was my second stay here, and this is one of my favorite hotels! I love the exposed brick walls, high beamed ceilings, tall windows that overlook the brick courtyard, upscale, elegant furnishings and decor, and how they've integrated the original features of the building into a hotel offering modern amenities (like those huge showers!). The hotel is right in the middle of the downtown/riverfront area of Paducah, with lots of shops, restaurants, and interesting things to do within easy walking distance. There's plenty of parking around back.

A little cumbersome getting luggage to the upstairs rooms, but so worth the effort!

We LOVED everything about our stay. The renovated space is absolutely charming. The staff was very pet friendly. The desk attendant, Ben, helped us with our luggage, provided tips on surrounding businesses, and was very helpful and accommodating the extra efforts it takes to travel with a pup. The stairs only entrance was not a problem at all. The bar space surpassed our expectations and both the offerings and and the bartender, Ms. Morgan, made that stop worthwhile. The entire area around the site was completely charming, clearly the result of a huge revitalization effort. We wished we another few days to stay and enjoy them all. We plan to return.

Honestly, nothing comes to minde.

The location is amazing if you want to hang out downtown at the riverfront area. So many restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hotel is very quaint and nice. The room was very clean and inviting, loved the exposed brick and design. Wasn't a fan of the open tub and shower, but it was fitting for the room. The bathroom (toilet) was in a separate room though, so that was nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, but the TV/Cable didn't offer much. The heating/AC panel did not seem to be operating, so the room was a little stuffy during the night. We were also there during a special event (which we did not know about when we booked), so we were not able to go to the hotel bar, which is one of the reasons we chose to stay there. Overall a very cool hotel for an overnight trip.

See above explanation.

The hotel has a very good location in downtown Paducah. It's original artwork throughout the hotel and in the rooms are were for sale (we bought one from our room). The staff was friendly and hospitable at all times. They provided an at home feel that enhanced the stay.

There were intermittent issues with hot water availability during the 2 night stay. The separate bath & very large shower apparently didn't have a common source. The likely cause was likely (not commented on by staff when informed) was insufficient hot supply at intermittent periods.

We were greeted by Michelle, who was friendly and efficient. Our room was on the ground level. It was quiet although we were surprised to be in a room suited to someone with a disability. There was a rain shower and a lower shower. Towels were soft and the idea of a black flannel/face washer for makeup removal is excellent. The bed was comfortable. It was centrally located to the historical district and easy walking distance. Parking was free on the street or behind the hotel.

The lighting in the room and bathroom was incredibly dim. The coffee machine set up in behind the mirrored cupboard was a little strange, but we survived!

Excellent location. You can walk to all the small city sites. The 10 room boutique hotel had wonderful staff that assisted us on all requests. Room was exceptionally clean for such an old building. Ample free parking right out back. Wonderful oversized tub and rain shower. Excellent room coffee.

Our room air conditioner would not stay on, but it was manageable…just had to keep turning it back on. The free standing wet room needed a bath mat to step on when stepping down to the carpeted floor. Bed pillows were to large and firm for my preference. No option for hot water for tea in room, but staff were gracious and provided hot water for me whenever I asked. Two stories with no elevator…you may want to ask for a first floor room. With all that, I would definitely stay there again, overall a lovely experience.

The staff at this hotel set a standard for care that most other hotels fail to reach. They were helpful at all times and truly concerned for our welfare as guests. Now I know what "Southern Hospitality" means. Paducah is a great little place, and the people at this hotel are the finest credit to their city.

The 1857 is a quaint boutique hotel in downtown Paducah. The hotel is in a strip of old buildings and has been rehabbed. It is charming, modern, and very classy all in one. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are having a great day - even offering a loaner umbrella when it was raining!!

How professional everyone was at the hotel . A wedding was happening, still had my peace and quiet. I was able to access the hotel bar , due to wedding reservation, I didn't mind enjoying a walk to see the culture of history while finding a social place .

Checking out ( insert laughs)

We really enjoyed our stay, the location is amazing! There are shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Our room was on the first floor, nice historic exposed brick wall, super comfortable and clean bed.

Not the hotels fault but woke at 4am to the beeping sounds of a dump truck reversing and picking up garbage.
