The room was very comfortable.

The housekeeping was erratic. They promised bathrobes but we had to ask 4 times. Unlimited water was the promise but when we asked for a bottle they attempted to put it on the bill, we declined to pay and they accepted. The hotel is on a plaza and for several nights there was very loud music well into the night. One night the music (furniture vibrating ) went until 6 AM.

Loved this location, we had thought about being closer to the Zocalo but on visiting there, we are really glad we booked this location. Earlier we'd stayed in the colonia La Condesa area and it was fantastic but we wanted to experience something different on our return. This is a great hotel in a beautiful building, breakfast was included and yummy. Huge room, with a seperate sitting area by the balcony.

Noisy but we were in mexico and had gotten used to it. There was a wedding there our first night right outside our door, so ear plugs were used that night. but thats life.

Beautifully maintained building. Nice rooftop restaurant with good food and drinks, although not much view. Toiletries provided was I’occitaine, much better then what a high end hotel provided where I stayed a few days later. Staff was attentive with good customer service. Breakfast to order was good and came with a fruit plate, choices of juices and coffee

The bedroom door cannot be locked from the inside. You need to instead close another set of wooden doors. Minor inconvenience. Bottled water provided was small (400ml). Although the hotel does provide additional bottles upon request, we bought large bottles for convenience

I loved this hotel...unique original interiors that have been beautifully restored. Heidi and her team were always available to recommend options and as well the 24hour security was always impeccable. An added bonus was the highly acclaimed rooftop bar and restaurant...fabulous food at reasonable prices in an attentive but reelaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent every morning...good quality fresh choices such as eggs fruit, good coffee and great service..it was lovely to enjoy this outside facing the little square. Hope to be back one day

Can't think of anything

The interior design is breathtaking and does justice to the photos. There are lots of lounging areas, and the first floor lounge especially was our favorite. We were surprised how big our room was and the bed was very comfortable. It can be made to be very dark with the blinders off which was important as we’re light sleepers. The staff was particularly helpful are well versed in English. We were able to leave our luggage with reception prior to check in and post checkin so we could explore the surrounding areas. They provided many tips on how to best make our short 3 days in the city worthwhile, including helping us explore options on how to get to the Teotihuacan pyramids. They were also generous with providing bottles of water - we may have gone well over 20 bottles of water during our stay at no extra charge. Needless to say, the hotel is also located very very central to many attractions in the city, and Uber/Didi was also easy to obtain for further out places.

The key locking mechanism of our room was a bit weird. There is no independent lock from the inside and we had to use the same room key to lock from the inside. We also received only one key and couldn’t get a second so we couldn’t really leave the hotel separately without leaving the door unlocked. The breakfast restaurant was very subpar, as they got every single one of our orders wrong. Service was slow so we didn’t want to send it back as we were already tight on time as it were. Ordered chilaquiles but received what might have been huevos rancheros, and ordered enfrijoladas with chicken but received one with eggs instead. The experience was bad enough that we skipped it the second day and opted for much better breakfast options within the vicinity of the hotel.

Casa de la Luz is a charming and beautifully designed hotel that made our stay in Mexico City very enjoyable. The staff were incredibly suave and attentive, always making sure we felt welcome and taken care of. We had dinner at their rooftop restaurant on our last night. The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. To make the evening even better, there was a mariachi group performing, adding a lively and fun atmosphere.

The only downside was a strange smell that came in whenever we opened the window, which was a bit unpleasant. However, it didn’t take away too much from our overall experience.

The hotel was very comfortable , and all the staff were excellent kind and helpful spoke good English It’s Central for tourist locations - a return taxi from / to the airport by the hotel’s diver was $75 and a comfortable ride - We found it noisy in our rooms in the evenings - one evening with a loud party using the bar restaurant above the rooms. On another we heard the loud television from the room next door and dragging / cleaning noises from the bar and restaurant above our room during their closing period. If you go to bed later ( after 11 pm ) you wouldn’t be disturbed and it was peaceful. It was a unique experience in the beautiful building.

Breakfast at Casa de la Luz is nothing less than exquisite. Not only is the Oaxacan-inspired menu vast and appealing, but the food is delicious. We enjoyed a complete breakfast -- all-inclusive and consisting of fantastic coffee, juice, bread, pastries, fruit, and entrèe -- every day during our stay. Tremendous fuel for busy days of sight-seeing!

This is so minor, but the weak flushing toilets situated throughout the hotel induced an unexpected level of irritation. Such an inconvenience is really not the hotel's fault, but more a reality of an ancient infrastructure that's endemic to Mexico City. Nevertheless, being able to "go" without worrying about whether the toilet is going to flush is something I didn't expect to have to think about.

The interior design was beautiful! A free cocktail at the bar when we arrived was a real surprise and much needed after traveling all day. The bar/restaurant was gorgeous! Didn’t eat there since we had reservations elsewhere. The staff are very helpful. We also included breakfast with our stay and it was excellent! Our bed was very comfortable, the room well appointed, and clean. The hotel is walking distance to many important spots

The square that the hotel is located is a bit rough.

Beautiful building & super centrally located for exploring the Centro area in CDMX. Room had everything needed, enormous bed, premium shower products, pod coffee machine, fridge etc. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the welcome drink in the rooftop restaurant was a lovely touch. Breakfast delicious & staff very attentive. Would recommend if wanting to be in the centre of the city!

There seemed to be a canabis smoking area (maybe protest or demo) in the square infront of the hotel so slightly off putting. I know this would be outside of the control of the hotel, it itself and all the facilities were great.
