Located in the old town, this 500 year old property was an interesting place in which to stay. Easy to find once you've been around the block.(the sat nav will take you to the wrong end of the street sometimes). The rooms are accessed via a lovely spiral staircase and once there, the bedrooms are quiet comfortable with solid walls and wooden beams and a room key to surprise.. Our room overlooked an outdoor swimming pool/sun lounge area but at the time of our stay ,was not yet in use. Parking was inside the courtyard but access was tight. I managed to touch and take off a layer of paint from the side panel. The recommended 'curry house' just around the corner was very disappointing and I could not support a recommendation there. Many other choices are available but not tried by ourselves. Breakfast was very well presented but when not selecting meat or cheeses there was just a typical continental selection left. Our stay was a one night, break in the long journey south. however the B&B was more than that. Not so accessible from or to the motorway but once there left you wanting to discover much more of Valence.

Maybe a little more customer care attitude than was shown to us.

The building is 500 years old and has a lot of character; a huge room; far better wi-fi than you might expect, given the age and layout of the building; a superb breakfast; very friendly staff (it's family owned and the people we saw were the owners); no formal reception or desk staff, but very easy to come and go, using a simple gate code; a handy secure garage (but it's small - very limited capacity).

They could improve the arrival and entry arrangements. When we arrived it wasn't at all obvious how to alert someone to this fact (the hotel is in a courtyard behind a locked gate) and the phone wasn't answered. Eventually we sorted things out and after that it was very straightforward, but it wasn't the best start.

The property exceeded my expectations on every level! The rooms were amazing, beds divine, amenities generous, the view superb and the breakfast delicious. The owners were extremely hospitable and kind and the location was very special.

Finding it was took a bit of work so maybe photos of the street turns and front gate could help. Once inside it’s spectacular

This is a very nice boutique hotel in the Centre of Valence. The building combines character, comfort and space. The host is a very kind young man, very helpful. They have an electric charger for your car which is included in the parking charge of 15 euro. The breakfast is 18 euro pp but certainly worth the money. Only downside was the lack of hot water for the shower, that was very low. They seem to be aware and hopefully will improve.

Beautiful courtyard setting. Room was superb with fabulous views. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was available,which was great. Really stunning place to stay

Not very easy to find . Would have preferred an individual table of our own for breakfast,but couple were friendly that we shared with.

The building was wonderful, the room large and elegant, the breakfast excellent, the swimming pool a little bracing but very enjoyable, and in the middle of the old centre of the cirty.

Better directions for getting a car to the gate of the building

Beautiful property in the centre of Valence. So comfortable - and, above all, a great bed.

The staff were a bit absent when it came to answering questions and the surplus for pet dogs (50€) was quite a sick though I accept it was on the website.

Beautiful, heritage building with secure courtyard to store our bikes. Warm welcome and excellent breakfast. Despite the age of the property it is well maintained and had air conditioning for a comfortable night's sleep.

Nothing at all

What an amazing find - the room was more than we could ever have expected. Absolutely huge room and decorated so well with such an attention to detail. The bathroom had a wet room with an amazing shower. Good coffee machine provided in the room. We went down for breakfast and once again really surprised - in such a lovely room with so much choice and all very delicious.
