The staff is very helpful with nice recommandations and the place is in the city center with many shops and restaurant around. The bunk beds are quite big, very convenient and the washroom is clean. They let me drop my luggage at the front desk so I could arrive earlier and leave after check out, very nice !

The stairs are narrow and quite steep so be careful if you have big luggage, there is no elevator. There are all amenities you might need in the kitchen but it's quite small. No common room. A bit far from JR station and port if you are planning to go the islands. But it's really cheap for Takamatsu so still a good place to stay !

This hostel is a gem — sparkling clean, well-located, and equipped with everything you need: a kitchen for cooking, a lovely terrace, laundry, and a cozy common area. I stayed in the female dormitory for six nights, and it was perfectly convenient and neat. The beds are spacious, with a dedicated spot for luggage — a small detail that makes a big difference. What made the experience truly special was the warm and thoughtful hospitality of the owner — genuinely kind (and very handsome). He made the place feel even more welcoming. Setouchi itself is stunning and unforgettable, and this hostel made my trip all the more memorable. I will definitely return in the future.

The two hosts have just started their journey as owners, but they already know how to give it all to make you feel welcomed. The place is spotless and well kept, the services are all working well. No queue for the shower or toilet even though the guesthouse was full. The personal space is essential but, honestly, more then expected because even though I filled all the space for the luggage (two full backpacs), the bed was wide and comfy (pillow too) with a nice warm light, and I had a lot of space for myself. The common room is wonderful and spacious, and helps making friends. The difference was surely done by the hosts, they helped me with everything! Cool dudes :) Gambatte kudasai!

This was probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in! The owner was very warm and welcoming, and the facilities were top notch. Everything was spotless and looked very new. The beds had extra space at the foot to keep your bags, as well as a locker right there with a padlock provided. The beds were comfy and roomy. Of course it's a hostel with three other people, but it felt like I had so much room and privacy that I wish I could've stayed longer. Well located, too; a quick walk from anything you want to do in the city.

Nothing.

Great beds and there is a space for your lugage as well and a mirror. That is very well thought out! The hostel is close to many stores, 7/11, train- and busstation and so on.

The hostel is small and no elevator and the rooms are on 3rd and 4th floor… so it can be a bit problematic with big lugage. Only 1 toilet and showet on each floor.

The dormitory bed was exceptionally spacious and included a small dresser/locker and stool. In addition, the kitchen has everything needed to cook during a short stay; I used it often during my week in Takamatsu.

The sink and shower area sometimes was less clean than other places, although this was never a significant problem.

Perfect for my quick trip to Takamatsu! I've stayed in a variety of guesthouses in Japan before but this one had some extra touches that made my stat that much more comfortable. I had a top bunk and was pleasantly surprised to see how roomy it was, the extra space added at the foot of the bed was just what I needed to spread out and get myself organized without having to crawl up and down out of my bunk. The little safe for my valuables meant that I didn’t have to carry around everything and I could still have peace of mind. I was in a 4 person women-only dorm which ended up being a good number for a shared room. It wasn't too cramped and there wasn't too much noise made by people coming and going. The guesthouse had also prepared a local map with all of the important things such a closest convenience stores and groceries, as well as recommended restaurants. Thanks to this, I spent zero energy trying to find a place to eat at on my second night there and was able to have an excellent meal. The lady who checked me in also recommended a park light-up event that was going on in the area. I had no idea about it but I'm glad she brought it to my attention so I would be able to good. The common space lounge was the perfect, quiet place for me to unwind and write some postcards on my last night.

There was only one toilet and shower for the floor. Definitely not a deal breaker and I had no problems accessing the amenities when I wanted to, but I could see there being a line up at peak times.

The owner is super, super friendly. She speaks well english, tell you the best things to do in Takamatsu and always very helpful. The hostel has such a nice ambiente. Everything is so cozy, silent, beautiful and soft. I really enjoyed it there. Especially the beds. Also you have a little kitchen with free water and tea. Also a beautiful common area. Around there is a shopping street. The Ritsurin is very close, the port 30 minutes by walk.

Nothing! Booked another night 😁

Tidy and welcoming hostel. Facilities were clean and easy to access. The bunk beds in the dormitory room were surprisingly spacious and comfortable, with room for luggage. Close to the shopping district. The restaurants recommended by the manager were all fantastic.

A good ~25min walk from Takamatsu station, where you'll likely be arriving. Local guests mostly keep to themselves, although this seems common in Japan.

Very nice guesthouse, located in the center of Takamatsu. Only minutes away from the shopping street nearby, and about 15 minutes from the stunning Ritsurin Garden. The staff was able to speak English well enough for me to be able to check in easily. They even gave me a map of the city center with a whole lot of restaurant, cafe, and bar recommendations featuring the local food of Takamatsu.
