The two hosts are LOVELY!! Verrry welcoming and heartwarming guys who keep two cats there, which are super cute and cuddly. Free water, tea & coffee! Twice they gifted us some fruits.. so sweet. The room had a good AC and a fan. Also, we got clean towels and the two staffs always made sure we were fine!

Honestly, the room wasn’t as spacious and comfy as it had looked in the pictures. There were some spider webs inside and sadly the bed was very uncomfortable as the mattress springs poked us a lot. There was also only cold water and the blanket was verrry small but just go ahead and ask for another one, they will happily help you! :)

The guesthouse is in a good location in the heart of the city. However, don’t expect luxury accommodations here, there’s no TV or air conditioning, and the rooms are basic. There is free WiFi available and a shared bathroom next to my room. I was also surprised to find a resident cat at the stairs who seemed to be well looked after. The ceiling fan doesn't help much when the city heat creeps in at night. I was happy to find a good Asam Pedas restaurant downstairs. I would recommend this accommodation if you’re just looking for a place to lay your head while sightseeing.

Lavender@Guesthouse offers simple rooms with a great price and convenient amenities. The guesthouse are equipped with shoe racks at the entrances stair, however they lack both air conditioning and any way to ventilate the room without opening the windows. I still enjoyed my stay here, so I can recommend the place overall.

The host was great, the room and the common area cozy are nicely decorated. You can use the small kitchen with fridge, and there is a free water dispenser as well as tea and coffee. The room and facilities are a bit older, but clean and we never had to wait to use the shower/toilet. We liked the location, as it's in the middle of the old town and the big mall, so you can walk easily in both directions. There is also a good laundry around the corner. Wifi was strong and reliable. The big bonus are the two cats. Great value for money.

Mattress was a bit older and you could feel the springs.

His warm approach adds a special charm to the place, making guests feel welcome and at home. I particularly enjoyed the common area—cozy, filled with beautiful flowers, and always clean. It’s a great spot to relax and meet other travelers. I also appreciated the convenience of the kitchenette, where I could refill my water and make tea or coffee anytime. The rooms and bathrooms meet hostel standards, which is exactly what you’d expect from a guesthouse like this. While the street outside can be a bit noisy with people passing by, it’s not overly disruptive, and there’s minimal traffic noise. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend Lavender Guesthouse to anyone looking for a welcoming and well-located place to stay!

The guesthouse is well located within walking distance to the old quarter and China Town. The common space is cosy and the two cats are very friendly. My room was ok, air conditioning working well, bathroom with shower on the corridor. Annuar was very kind, offered me a slice of his homemade tiramisu and we talked a lot. You get a card for access the front door for which you pay a deposit.

The windows are like inexistent. The room was very noisy, especially that during weekend there was a night market. You need good earplugs, otherwise it is very loud, even a motorbike on the street will wake you up.

I had a wonderful stay at the Lavender@Guesthouse! Anuar made me feel so incredibly welcome and the cats Squirrel and Stocking are the cutest. I arrived very early in the morning and was very tired after a 10h night bus ride and Anuar let me check into another room to get some sleep until my room was ready. I really appreciated that! The guesthouse is very clean and cosy. Cute little rooms (I stayed in a single room with aircon + fan). Great location, very close to Jonker streetfood market. Could also hang up my laundry for drying. All in all, great price performance ratio. I highly recommend this place and would come back for the cats and the hospitality of Anuar alone :)

We only stayed for one night, but we really loved it. From the moment we arrived to when we left, we instantly felt at home thanks to Anuar and Sol and their resident cats. The accommodation has everything you need for a comfortable stay. You do need to share a bathroom with other guests, which was fine as they are cleaned regularly. We booked a deluxe room with AC. Free tea, coffee, and filtered water for guests. Homely decor with lots of plants and a fantastic shared area for hanging out. Fantastic for Travelers who are on a budget like us. Very nice and big common area, great location and very good value for money. Also, the host is extremely nice and helpful. He makes you feel very welcome. The rooms are basic, but since there is a big common area, we didn't mind that.

The walls are quite thin so you hear a lot. But we experienced this in a lot of guesthouses in Malaysia, so best to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
