This is EXCEPTIONAL place to stay. I was solo with motorcycle but this is perfect place for family stay, It has private zoo, mini gold terrain. Overhang playground in trees. Huge toboggan and slide track of 2.5 km. Hotel it self, food, bathroom, service, and nature are overwhelming. Hotel is secluded so I had no problem leaving motorcycle outside.

Access road is simple uphill dirt road. I traveled with motorcycle and if there was rain or mud could be problem.

We had a wonderful time at the Moos-Alm. It was comfortable, clean and quiet. We purchased only breakfast in advance, but ate dinner at the restaurant four out of our seven nights. The breakfast was outstanding, and generally made it possible to make a small sandwich for lunch (which was ideal for hiking). We noticed that most of the guests had booked "halbpension," and thus, had both breakfast and dinner pre-paid. The halbpension dinner was not generally on the menu, but we were offered items from it. The dinner was very good on the whole (with very large portions). The location is bucolic, approximately 1000 ft up a steep hill from the town, but is immediately next to a petting zoo and a zipline course. There were often school children at the zoo and zipline, which we found enjoyable, but be aware the rooster may have you up at dawn!

We would not change anything specific but it is worth noting that the trip up and down the hill to town is fairly lengthy and not really practical on foot. The high level of forestry in the immediate area was also a little disconcerting - you have to be careful to look out for logging trucks. However, these trucks did not run by the Moosalm property itself, so were only an issue when hiking out the back of the hotel.

This hotel was better than we expected. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was big, clean, and well-equipped. The breakfast had enough options, and the dinner was delicious and copious. We received five courses every evening. I highly recommend this hotel to those who are having gluten intolerance. The first evening I asked for gluten-free meals, and they prepared everything gluten-free for me. On the other hand, in the morning, the gluten-free bread waited for me at our table. They were very attentive to my needs.

My two day stay at Moos-Alm was one of my best hotel experiences ever. The service level was outstanding. I booked half-board and the 5 course dinner was superb. The second day I was looking forward to the dinner all day long. The breakfast also tick all the boxes and even more. The spa/sauna area was very nice and clean. A real treat after a day on the mountain. They even let me keep the room for the day after checkout in the morning. So nice of the staff. I wanted to stay longer and already looking forward coming back again.

Can not come up with anything

The hotel was a little tricky to find but once I got there, I was glad to have booked my stay. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, and the breakfast was excellent. I would surely stay here again.

Nothing to dislike,

Our room looked out over the meadow & up the hill with the Dolomites off to the left, so picturesque. Breakfast, evening meal & drinking were all very good. It does get busy during the day due to the surrounding attractions, but these do not distract from the visit. Kids will love the pet center, adventure tree climb & mountain bike paths which will keep them busy all day. The town is a lovely place to spend an hour or two watching the world go by. One word of warning to those of us who travel on motorbikes, the track up to the hotel is an offroad experience that is not suited to a large tourer (Goldwing). If I visited again I would definitely leave the bike in the free car park at the bottom of the hill.

It would have been a nice gesture to have been given a free pass to the chair lift, even if this were for one trip. Having parked at the hotel & not wishing to ride back down the dirt tract we did have trouble buying a pass just to go down to the bottom level but maybe that was a language barrier, being English we obviously do not speak any other languages :(

Very kind stuff from cleaning lady to the owner. Very helpfull to explain where to enjoy skying even though there were not good snow condition. Food amazing. Very clean and cosy. Coming back for sure. Thanks!

The setting of the hotel and the hotel itself are stunning! The staff is friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean and very comfortable for short or long stays. There is a sunny terrace open during the daytime for drinks and food and there is also an indoor part as well as a cozy bar. Many outdoor activities are available, from a popular animal petting area to mini golf and an adventure park as well as llama treks and area hiking. Dogs are welcome. Free onsite parking. Breakfast is available with a choice of hot and cold items. The nearby city of Lienz and a local castle provide other options for things to do.

Internet was slow at times.

Very nice hotel which included breakfast with lots of choice. The evening meals we paid extra for were also of very good standard. The room overlooked the mountains and the ski lift which sadly wasn't in use on the days were there. There were lots of activities for children, though I think again just at the weekend. The hotel is quite isolated and ideal for walks this time of year. The spa facilities were also very good to retreat to after a long walk.

Nothing could have been better

Wonderful location, nice view, large and comfortable room and bathroom, very helpful staff. We were pleasantly surprised by the 5-course dinner menu!
